FORGIVE ME FOR BEING A BIT SHAKEN UP THIS SATURDAY MORNING, BUT PERHAPS THE MOST EXPENSIVE FILM EVER CREATED SAVED SOME BUDGET MONEY FOR SUBLIMINAL ADVERTISING..?

I must have AVATAR on my mind..

This story is opposite of a typical Horror Report, one that is personal.. Only a few hours ago, around 3am (the obvious witching hour), I woke up with a quick flash of an arrow.. I realized that my dream was taken up by little blue creatures marching through forests.. Human were there, too, but also these bluish figures.. And within seconds of being awake, I realized that, in my dream, these creatures were called "avatars" ..

My dream was a little different from the plot of the James Cameron's fairy tale from the future. In my dream, the 'avatars' are coming to earth to seek refuge from the wars on their planets.. some humans are helping, but for the most part the blue creatures face discrimination. Call it 'AVATAR' meets 'DISTRICT 9' ..

But the even more frightening commentary is that I had the dream at all!

Is it the ultimate achievement of product placement? The fact that I dreamed about a movie that hasn't been released just yet? It is because advertisements for Cameron's million dollar blue masterpiece (at least Hollywood Reporters thinks it is one) blanket everything from television sets to football game stands? Maybe the fact that several sites that already reviewed AVATAR claim it's Oscar worthy..?

I must admit, I am not one (at least I think I'm not one) to fall prey to the subliminal messages and product placements in film and TV. As a matter of fact, when I see characters in fake reality drinking Coke or Pepsi, or on crime dramas talking about AVATAR and asking 'wonder how much money that cost to make,' I get annoyed. Product placements have always existed.. like Reese's Pieces in ET, but it can so often become offensive because of how obvious it is. Who doesn't somewhat squirm in their seats when they see Forrest Gump drinking tons of Dr. Pepper, or I ROBOT with Audi cars or FedEx packages?

But a dream?

James Cameron, sir, you have gone too far!

My mind is something I cherish. I love the individual thoughts it possesses, the way it can dream on its own and create vast realms of reality that you cannot make in the reality of being awake.. I enjoy and prize my privacy.. Have I dreamed about Pepsi before or David's Sunflower seeds? Maybe, but I would have welcomed that with open arms.. But AVATAR? I didn't even see this film yet, and still dreams are vivid and in color (blue) ..

I suppose I'm glad I woke up when I did.. Were the dream to last any longer, I would have had studio executives at my window demanding royalties for me using the images without permission.. Perhaps I would have received a cease and desist letter stamped with the man of the TITANIC himself..?

Did the budget for AVATAR include some type of a dream maker that beams thoughts into the minds of bloggers and movie lovers across America? Did James Cameron plan this out... ? After all, he wouldn't want to be embarrassed by a flop of a film after so much money was spent in making the CGI story..

AVATAR is being released December 18. Hopefully by then, no more dreams or subliminal messages will cross my mind.. But if I do, I hope the avatars will be drinking cold Pepsi, with a handful of sunflower seeds locked in their cheeks, spitting like champions..
