FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 28 2012, NEWS OF THE WORLD

Amazing images revealed of a watery past on Mars: New photos from Curiosity find evidence of a streambed.. Water once flowed on the red planet. At this point it seems to be a common belief: There was once water on Mars. What happened? Did life have time to evolve into something? When did Mars dry up? Why? A massive solar event? Evolution and devolution? Maybe a nuclear war between nations on the planet? The possibilities are endless and with every new discovery that water existed, more theories will abound. . . Amazing stuff. NASA's Curiosity may be the story of 2012.

A 'breaking up' of the earth's crust under the Indian Ocean

This website has written before about the April twin earthquakes in the Indian Ocean--8.6 and 8.2 in magnitude .. But now the NEW SCIENTIST has published an article reporting that the earth is cracking and breaking up under the Indian Ocean!

Scientists, in essence, are now looking into the earth changes in the post quake ocean. The earthquakes that large in magnitude typically occur at the boundary of tectonic plates. These didn't. So they were probably strike-slip earthquakes. Of course none have ever been recorded that strong..

The NEW SCIENTIST explains that the earth's crust began a once in a million year process of breaking a tectonic plate. A plate torn in two..

Supernova in the sky. Is the sun going to go wild?

Just read a very interesting but unscientific article on a website claiming that the sun was getting whiter brighter an hotter than ever before.. There weren't any findings within the text of the story that back up the author's point of view but there were rather vague memories from when he was younger.. He recalls a time when the sun was more yellow and less heated, according to his generic recollection of events..

It's an interesting thought, plus one that others have spoken about in recent years. There seems to be a fear that the sun is going super nova.. It's the newest end of time end of the world conspiracy concern--and has little to no hardcore evidence backing up that theory..

But I traveled into my own memories ... I recall, as well, a bright orange yellow sun. I remember hot days that were not oppressive.. Whether what the author of of ConspiracyHQ's story believes is a real fear or not, my memory also had me thinking of a kinder and gentler period of time for weather on this planet..

So I'd be curious of thoughts from readers out there. Do you believe that memories can make a mind believe the past was better than it was or is the sun going wild and ready to burn a hole right through the planet earth?? I would love thoughts from all..

I get it .. College kids like to binge drink

But the idea of placing an alcohol enema directly into your rear end seems to go be directly opposed to every form of common sense. What about the old days of ANIMAL HOUSE like behavior where at least one would enjoy the taste of the liquor .. But the enema maybe is quicker.

Forget about beer pong and bongs..hello anal lubrication with an onslaught of alcohol.. And now parents have something new to worry about: Binge drinking with a new angle.. And the angle all takes place in the 'back of the house' so to speak..

TUESDAY SEPEMBER 25 2012, NEWS OF THE WORLD

Every day is scary. Today seemed to be one of the scarier. Don't know why. Maybe it's that change of weather .. that new cycle of autumn? Maybe just something in the air tonight..

The news of the world. All that is fit, and unfit, to print. And then some:

Security forces on high alert as Iran test fires a missile designed specifically to hit warships..

Court rules that mororists can be detained for paying cash at toll booths!

6.2 mag quake strikes the Gulf of California..

4.5 shakes Northern California..

3.1 tremor near Southern California..

Hurricane threatening Baja, California..

Another "super typhoon" set to strike.. this time Jewlawat targets Pacific island nations..

A dock from the Japanese tsunami has now washed ashore in Oregon..

Salt cavern below sinkhole has failed!

US bees vanishing at an alarming rate--still--19 crops are now at risk from Colony Collapse..

Russia suspends Monsanto corn!

A key US weather satellite used for monitoring the East Coast of the United States has gone offline..

A newly discovered comet, C/2012 S1 (ISON) is now located beyond the orbit of Jupiter.. it is set for a close encounter with the sun in 2013. And after that, the blind naked eye on earth may be able to see the comet in the night sky.. Will it fizzle like another Elenin? Or be visible for months in '13? Time will tell. All eyes on space, watching and waiting..

Hubble goes extra deep back in time..

How comforting is this factoid ??

Here is a report on how a whole lot of nuclear plant are in tsunami favorable locations .. It's convenient to have water supplying nuclear power..but as we saw in Japan it's less favorable when disaster occurs.

Scientists are studying where the next big Yellowstone super volcano eruption will take place..

And as far as when? Well, we appear to be overdue on that front..

Majestic fall nights

If you are in the Northeast part of Pennsylvania, you already know tonight is the perfect fall night. Maybe it is where you are too, should you be absent the Pennsylvania skies..

There are a tremendous amount of stars visible tonight. Maybe it's the fresh cold air that got rid of the chemtrails and smog.. maybe it's just that right time of year to be outside--or maybe it's due to the fact that the street light in front of Horror Report home base is down for the count, unlit for days , actually nights, now..

Nonetheless, I gazed a bit at the stars while I had the chance. The breeze that was blowing was the kind that sent a cool chill down your spine but reminded you of the cold shivers that are on the way.

There is just something about fall that makes your heart get both melancholy and vibrant all at the same time.

My wife commented to me tonight that the smell of fall is both awesome but depressing. She's right.

The Bloomsburg fair is going on right now. It's a happy time of year filled with memories. I recall fondly being a teenager at the fair.. even younger.. in my 20s.. and now 30s. And coming full circle, this year my wife and I brought the little man named Ayden to the fair. We are parents. And by God, we are keeping traditions alive and hoping to create new ones.

But that is what surrounds my mind tonight: That creeping feeling that traditions, for as much as one tries to fight for them to survive, don't. Often a death in the family ends them all. Think about it.. Christmas dinner may be something of the past one grandmother passes away.. Or just like as occurred in Ashland, PA a few years ago, if a town chooses to cancel an ABA Labor Day parade, hundreds of families and thousands of people won't have a party. Traditions can end in a heart beat.

I have a vivid memory of my childhood. It's one of those 'bits and pieces' type of recalls.. one where you know your surroundings but weren't sure what was going on.  I remember walking towards the front door of my house in Centralia, PA, when  I was probably about 4 or 5. It was around this time of year because I fondly recall the biting wind, a Frankenstein window dressing on the door, and laughter. It's amazing and frightening how fast time blows on...

I was talking to a friend this evening who I didn't see in much too long of time. He and I were quite shocked through the text messaged we exchanged when we realized  it had been a DECADE since we saw each other, talked to each other, and shared a drink and memory. We have Facebook, of course. People live vicariously through that. Vigorously vicarious as a matter  of fact. But I think I'm entering a stage in life when I want to abandon the virtual for the real again. I want to rid myself of the holiday Facebook cards and instead go to someone's house, pay a visit, stay for a warm drink...

You know. Real stuff. Actual things. Not virtual.
We did that about ten years ago. Incidentally that is about the last time I saw a great friend. And where, really, did the past ten years get us? You answer that one.

A new factoid about America: Is the dream vanishing?

The worldwide press is paying more attention to this tidbit than American counterparts: There are more Americans now that die as a result of suicide than from car crashes.. the UK DAILY MAIL reports on a study conducted by the American Journal of Public Health, which believes that suicide is under counted..

The DAILY MAIL headline however says this: "More Americans now commit suicide than die in car crashes as miserable economy takes it toll"

The world itself has seen some strange occurrences involving the collapse of humanity recently..Whether it's the spike in suicides around the globe or just kids being abandoned in Greece, there are some rough times facing people.
