Real true open lines back on Coast to Coast AM.?

Weekend host John B Wells is sitting in for George Noory tonight on the show Coast to Coast a.m. And he is doing something that has not been done since Art Bell hosted: Open lines with no call screener.

Ever since Bell left the program to George Noory, call screeners have been included with open lines on the program. It appears that tonight, Wells will have four hours of unadulterated open lines, something he is calling naked calls.

How open they are is yet to be seen, and most likely the 10 second delay button will be ready. But it is fascinating that he has gotten so much attention over this program, as it has been so long since true open lines were actually done.

Expect to see this photo in lots of places around the web .. This is Valeria Lukyonova. She is being billed as the real life BARBIE. Oh, and the photo you are looking at is real. It’s her. Not photoshopped, either. It sort of makes me physically ill, how about you?

The GOP lament: Was it Chris Christie's fault!?

Robert Costa wrote a NATIONAL REVIEW article today, linked above, about the election results. What caused Romney to lose? The quote on NJ Gov Chris Christie that caught my attention: Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, the adviser adds, is persona non grata in Romney’s inner circle. “He went out of his way to embrace the president during the final week of the campaign,” the adviser says. “It wasn’t necessary and it hurt us. Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and Chris Christie undermined the Republican message.” Maybe Christie’s embrace of Obama hurt Romney. Maybe Chris Christie crying after Bruce Springsteen called hurt Romney. But in the end it helped his citizens, and quite frankly, it helped Chris Christie. Think about it.. Your state just went through a disaster of monumental proportions. Entire towns are gone. An entire coastline is changed. What else CAN YOU DO but ask the President of the federal purse for help? What else can you do but put politics aside..? You have no option. And on…

ELECTION DAY: OVER!

You know what headlines are today. Here's other news you may not know about that you should..

WIRED magazine has a story just in time for the post-election day debate: The 7 technologies that will make it easier for the President to hunt and kill you..

Win one for the GMO.. It looks like all of the dollars Monsanto and others were able to place into the California food labeling proposition have been rewarded with a vote from citizens keeping genetically modified food hidden from view. Prop 37 has failed, 54% against and 46% in favor. The scare tactics about higher grocery prices worked. So chemicals can now be happily littered into food and no one gets to know about it. Because it may cost a few pennies more... Meanwhile Cali voted FOR A proposition that raised taxes. I just don't get the mood of voters this year.

The ongoing effects of the Fukushima nightmare still linger..

Hundreds of 'UFO's' reported around the Indo-Chin…

HEY CANDIDATES: YOU JUST SPENT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ORDER TO KEEP EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE SAME AS IT WAS! PRICELESS!

The election is over. WE CAN ALL UNITE and be thankful for that. The campaign mudslinging gets tiresome—even boring. The  negative ads were so plentiful this year that, frankly, people stopped noticing them. It was just frightening images of President Obama and Governor Romney set Armageddon style music. But it’s over. We have a winner. And it happened long before many thought it would. No recount. No hanging chads. No computer glitches of concern—well, there were but as usual the media ignored the problems with electronic machines.
But what has changed?
Before the election yesterday, Democrats controlled the Senate, Democrats had the White House, and Republicans had the House.
After the election today? Democrats control the Senate, Democrats have the White House, and Republicans have the House.
This after billions of dollars spent on advertising!?
Billions of dollars spent to … keep everything the same?
I am not a money-man, a banker, or a fiscal prophet. But if someone told me to spend a …

Art Bell makes his call

He's going for Obama

Art Bell makes his call

He's going for Obama

I was watching coverage of the election on all three major networks, CNN, Fox, and MSNBC. On those programs during interviews, Republicans look a little nervous and Democrats look a little overconfident. Not sure if my observations mean anything, it could just be that Republicans are nervous and Democrats are overconfident, or it could mean that exit polls show a substantial margin of victory for president Obama..

We won’t know officially until later, or even later than later, but I will continue to read the tea leaves and follow the airwaves along with reading as many websites and blogs as I can to find out if anyone can prognosticate who the president will be before the election gets called officially..

And what time the official recognition of a president comes? That is where the night could get long..

THE CHOICE: DON'T BE SCARED

America is set to vote..
All the ads, all the money.. all now history. The real story begins and ends with each citizen, in the polling place, deciding who should run the school board, the county.. the congress.. the nation. All up to Mr. And Mrs. Citizen. Joe Sixpack. All of those corny phrases ..

The election may be close, so the experts say. The pundits also tell us it could be disputed. Which means even more so that every vote counts. Remember in the year 2000? Votes counted then. Of course the real vote was the Supreme Court, their words certainly had more weight..

Nonetheless, in the year 2012, what is the choice?
Each campaign has framed the debate his (or her) own way.
But none of the frames matter.
The negative ads? They are meaningless too.
The debates? They meant something, but don't know.
No, now you count.
You mean something.
You are the person who gets to decide.

There is something special about a free and fair election. We in America assume we have those things still. Hopefull…

Another bizarre situation: new Jersey has earthquake

you read that headline right, the state of New Jersey is dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Sandy but now it is adding a 2.0 magnitude earthquake to the list of things to worry about

It was close to New York City, and only had a depth of 3 miles..

Very strange times that we live in, even stranger along the northeast coast, which is bracing for yet another storm Wednesday
