Another Slenderman crime makes headlines

Last week the nation was shocked when two Wisconsin pre-teens attempted to murder their friend by stabbing her 19 times in a forest .. Their defense: They were trying to become the children of Slenderman and wanted to sacrifice someone to do it.. in recent days, people have learned everything they never wanted to know about the fictitious character..

And now: A new crime is just as shocking the media tells us.. and again, a child is using Slenderman as the reason for a stabbing. According to reports from this weekend, an Ohio mom said that her daughter's knife attack was inspired by the net creation Slenderman.  The mother said that her daughter 'was someone else' during the stabbing.. the mother said her daughter had a fascination with Slenderman..  The 13-year-old girl is now in a juvenile detention center..

The girl already had mental issues, according to the mom interviewed..

The HORROR REPORT wrote about the original attempted murder, and said that we hoped the original Slenderman stabbing did not create a pattern or trend.. This new crime is causing some to wonder if it did..

There is one caveat to mention.. I am not really sure if all these teens are just not right in the head or if the news media is trying to cash in on a new trend. The local report on this latest Slenderman stabbing does not clearly tie the girl who stabbed her mother to the horror character, and even further there appeared to be mental problems already.. But Slenderman?? This quote from the local station made me doubt:
“She had her hood up and had her hands covered with her sleeves and the mask,” the mother said.
Unless I am completely out of the loop, I was not aware of Slenderman having a mask.. Unless it's one of the homemade jobs that you can find yourself online, Slenderman does not have a face.. not a feature. He is pale and without any actual facial structure.. So this mom could have mistaken another mask for Slenderman? Perhaps Ghostface.. Michael Myers?  Also this: During the one scene of the news media report on the mom saying her daughter was drawing 'disturbing images' a drawing of anime was shown.. Hardly disturbing or a sign of monsters lurking within..

Also ... did the mother purchase the mask for her daughter with the issues already?I think calm discernment is necessary for this story...

And as usual, the media is meshing together two stories. The stabbings in Wisconsin were clearly a result of Slenderman addiction.. this new stabbing? Not as clear..

Some may think questioning this mother would be unfair--but this mom went to the news media herself and advertised the story, without showing her face or naming a name..

I think we are about to endure a massive trend of news media telling us to be afraid of a Net Boogeyman that may not exist.. Slenderman does not exist.. and  trend of stabbings may not either--but a big brunt of news coverage will ..

New Year's Eve.. Rockin' without Dick Clark in '13

Welcome to the final minutes of the year 2012. Yes. Already. It was so looked forward to, and it is ending so quickly...

It's minus Dick Clark this year, though. And that is notable. Fergie is showering ABC viewers tonight in the pre-game with Dick Clark related footage. Donna Summers is playing while the Doors are swaying. Yes, it's a stroll down amnesia lane in the fast lane. Dick Clarkless 2013. No countdown with the master of Times Square this year.

The show goes on, of course. With Ryan Seacrest to help. Before Seacrest will be 'out' there will be a number of events that occur. A massive ball will drop in Times Square. Revelers will kiss their hearts out.. then race for port-a-potties and their hotel rooms. Maybe stop by a pub and have a cup of cheer..

All around the world, the events are taking place. Some places on Earth are already 2013. The Pope will have a homily about how peace could be achieved. Fireworks will fly high into the night sky.. People will embrace …

Neve Campbell laments her post-SCREAM life: I was constantly being offered horror films, because I was known for horror films, or bad romantic comedies

Neve Campbell Confirms Her 'Scream' Notoriety Inspired Her Decision to Leave Hollywood »

“I needed a minute. In my 20s, it all hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming,” Campbell shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “Wonderful, obviously, and I’m very grateful for it, but it got to a level, also, where the kinds of things that I was being offered were not the things I wanted to do. I was constantly being offered horror films, because I was known for horror films, or bad romantic comedies.”

And this week she will be jumping out of building with the Rock in theaters ..

All 'scream queens' have gone through a period of confusion, denial.. acceptance. And now for Jamie Lee Curtis 40 years after her introduction to movies via being chased by killer Michael Myers, she is back for a final round..
Just as Campbell came home for the final SCREAM..
