Under the weight of the moon

A fiercely rabid case of the Mondays has set in.. perhaps the supermoon put me in a trance like state.. maybe the notion that summer is just about over, with the sights, sounds, and smells of the autumn already creeping in during the night time.. Or perhaps it's just because of the tremendously unbearable state of the world. As presented here, in somewhat real time..

The case of the Mondays.. news you can't use but certainly won't abuse from around the world and beyond..

John McCain and his Mz Lindsay Graham took to the weekend airwaves to warn that ISIS is coming to the United States.. Perhaps the same ISIS that is blasting Twitter with images of them meeting with Senator John McCain??

Image of 7-year-old holding severed head shocks Australia..
Australian PM appalled..
Australian national (and ISIS fighter father of child) writes: "That's my boy"

Children and women buried alive at the hands of ISIS..
Family of 8 shot for refusing to convert in Baghdad..
Vicar from Anglican church in Iraq claims a boy he baptized has been cut in half..

Iraq confirms ISIS killed 500 Yazidis..

Governments backing Islamic terrorists..

The horrors of ISIS are being broadcast around the world (people are forced to throw their own children off of cliffs as opposed to let them face ISIS) .. But here is a new perspective I haven't heard yet: Paul Thigpen makes the link between the warlords of the Islamic State (IS) and their historic predecessors, the warlike Assyrians.. Certainly seems like someone on this planet is pushing a new 21st century holy war.. A same.. 2014 and we still fight about ancient relics of things that are most likely documentably absurd.. party like it's 1499 and come to the party so 1000 and late..

I cannot take anymore news about ISIS today.. it's beyond upsetting and revolting.. and for the horror movie fans who email me saying I don't pay enough attention to fiction, get real.. very real: Horror is everywhere.. this site is not only about horror of the big screen or small, it's the horror in life.. the awful depravity of humanity. . the sick and twisted nature of our reptilian ways..
But it also tries to find the shining bright examples of goodness, and celebrates that which is beautiful and amazing. Any parent knows what beauty is: The electricity and light that illuminates from your child's wide eyes. Love that light, be the light.. Be light.
Only light shining in the darkness of this planet will rid us of the pain that binds us.

If you believe...they put a man on the moon. No, like really.. do you believe that this is a man walking on the moon? Some do.. it's certainly a creepy background song that the YOUTUBE video contains.. but the even creepier thing is to contemplate that a man is walking on the moon with his shadow trailing behind him. The image is getting some attention.. And some are saying that the man walking on the moon looks a lot like the statue the "COLOSSUS OF RHODES".. if you believe they put a Colossus on the moon.. Or just the lunar Slenderman taking a supermoon stroll ..

Missouri Misery: Vandalism and looting after a vigil for a Missouri man.. A few thousand people have crammed the street where a black man was shot multiple times by a suburban St. Louis police officer. He was 18, his name was Michael Brown.. and he is dead from the police shooting..
In the wake of this, and the peaceful vigil: Anything from harmony..
Unrest in Missouri.. Confrontations between residents of St. Louis and police.. bottles being hurled at officers and police cars being kicked.. A TV van was attacked .. The crowd shouted 'kill the police' .. Even more: A WALMART store was looted and employees took shelter and hid from the looters.. This is not a protest .. this is lunacy.. under a supermoon on a Sunday night in St. Louis..

The amazing SUPERMOON slideshow..

We probably know this already, but are too worried to speak of it: United States hospitals are not at all ready for an Ebola outbreak..

And while EBOLA ravages so many, people in Africa are unnerved by modern medicine that may aid them.. instead churches are filled as Liberians want to be delivered from the evil of Ebola..

Missionaries return to North Carolina--to be quarantined for 21 days..

I linked this over the weekend, but do so again in case you missed it.. so strange: Weird noises are being heard coming from a volcano--and they are confounding experts..

Chances are you talked about this at least once over the weekend: Tony Stewart ran over a fellow driver on a track this weekend.. Kevin Ward Jr. is dead, and his death was captured on video and uploaded and reloaded around the world millions of times over.. Oh, and yes: He's the same Kevin Ward Jr. that Tony Stewart threatened to run over 2 years ago...

I agree with Sinead O'Connor .. She argues that males performers are also the victims of sexualization.. And she said that Justin Bieber was sold on his sexuality.. Perhaps it's some advice that Beebs should take heed of from Sinead. I frankly think that often major record labels (just music at this juncture) sexualize any child they see.. all for profits.. filth of old men pervading our sense of wonder on this planet.. ruining the lives of any children they market and those being marketed too.. shame never comes to their brains, though.. Preach, Sinead..

Speaking of the sexualization and perversion of the youth: She's still just being Miley.. Cyrus decided that squatting in the woods is so momentous a moment, she snapped a photo for posterity and gave it that INSTAGRAM hue..

Teens speak: They like THE FAULT IN OUR STARS..

Reality vs fiction.. dreams equaling crimes: A man named Carlos Gascon dreamed his girlfriend cheated on him.. So to retaliate for his dreamed up issue, he beat her, slashed her leg, poured hot coffee on her and threatened to kill her while holding a knife at her throat.. His dream equaled her nightmare..

ALIEN ABDUCTION horror movie claimed to be based off of the real-life Brown Mountain Lights story.. You can see the trailer here and read about the supposed true story of the Brown Mountain lights here

Finally, for some perspective.. Let's read no further than what I love on MEDIUM .. It's by Matt McDermott and his old ass dog --and everything he learned about life from his pet named Fletch.. Any dog owner (and pet owner all the same) will agree: Any animal that spans three presidents and two decades means something in life.. they represent love they give to a family and also a bench mark on your own life.. Enjoy your pet .. pet them fondly and often.. They grow old too quick, as McDermott points out .. and they go too soon as any of us who have owned animals certainly knows..

Paging Paige: Done at the WWE

PWInsider reports that Paige was told at this past Monday’s RAW that she will not be able to return to the ring. It was noted that she is “done” as a wrestler, and that the situation is similar to Edge’s retirement in 2011 due to a neck injury…

Paige had just returned to WWE in late November after a seventeen month absence due to a neck injury she suffered in June of 2016. During her absence she suffered two Wellness policy suspensions.

Paige was injured during a house show at the Nassau Coliseum on Dec. 27 during a six-woman tag match. She was kicked in the back by Sasha Banks and struggled to get back to her feet after the bump.

The fake missile warning in Hawaii was scary for residents of that state .. 38 minutes of hell.

Scary for America more may be what ELIANA JOHNSON writes in POLITICO: A false warning of a missile threat in Hawaii sent White House aides scrambling Saturday, frantically phoning agencies to determine a response and triggering worries about their preparedness almost a year into the Trump administration. President Donald Trump’s Cabinet has yet to test formal plans for how to respond to a domestic missile attack, according to a senior administration official. John Kelly, while serving as Secretary of Homeland Security through last July, planned to conduct the exercise. But he left his post to become White House chief of staff before it was conducted, and acting secretary Elaine Duke never carried it out. The Old Cold War guard is gone. The newcomers can issue threats but appear to be unaware on how to act on them.. “The U.S. government hasn’t tested these plans in 30 years,” said the senior a…

There is water on Mars. There is not water on Mars. There is water on Mars.

A cross-section of underground ice is exposed at the steep slope that appears bright blue in this enhanced-color view from the HiRISE camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The scene is about 550 yards wide. The scarp drops about 140 yards from the level ground in the upper third of the image.Credits: NASA/JPL-Caltech/UA/USGS

This could be a game changer–and quite the about face since the past several months of news gathered have reinforced the notion that no water at all existed..

As reported in the journal Science (paywall), the water was found in both the north and south of Mars, at latitudes equivalent to South America and Scotland. The exposed areas were found on scarps as steep as 55 degrees. Based on the absence of craters in the regions, scientists believe that the features formed relatively recently.

“The discovery reported today gives us surprising windows where we can see right into these thick underground sheets of ice,” study co-author Shane Byrne of the University of…

FCC won’t let Trump’s shithole be

The FCC received complaints after NBC and CNN used the word “s—hole” in their coverage of the controversy over comments President Donald Trump reportedly made to lawmakers during a meeting about immigration.

An FCC spokesman said they received a “handful” of comments, but did not have an exact figure yet. The agency does not monitor programming, but reviews each complaint to decide whether to take any type of action.

CNN featured the term on its chyron, and it was also repeated on air multiple times. But the FCC’s jurisdiction over indecency and profanity does not cover cable and satellite programming.x

The word was used once on “NBC Nightly News,” but anchor Lester Holt issued a viewer warning in advance. CBS and ABC chose not to use the word.

The FCC considers a number of factors in whether to act on a complaint, including “context,” and that in the past has included whether it has been a part of news programming. Broadcasters are confident that they would be exempt for using the term i…

Not only that, but warnings buzzed on TVs.. radios.. the horrid screeching noise when an emergency alert sounds..

CNN reports,

Jocelyn Azbell had just woken up in her Maui hotel Saturday when she was hurried into the hotel's basement to take shelter from an incoming ballistic missile.
"You're thinking, 'Oh my gosh, are we going to die? Is it really a missile (headed) our way, or is it just a test?'" the 24-year-old told CNN. "We really didn't know."
Minutes before, she'd received an ominous alert on her phone.

Azbell, her boyfriend and hundreds of other hotel guests were "herded like cows" into the basement by staff. "People are crying and people obviously were super scared," she said.
For 20 minutes, Azbell said, they waited. Finally, they were told that the alert was a false ala…

The worst flu since the early 2000s strikes he entire continental United States is experiencing widespread flu right now, the first time in the 13 years of the current tracking system that that has happened, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Officials said that this flu season is shaping up to be one of the worst in recent years. The rate of flu hospitalizations — the number of people hospitalized with flu per 100,000 — nearly doubled last week compared with the previous week. Last week it was 22.7 per 100,000 people; the week before that rate was 13.7. IT IS SO BAD..
THE KIDS ARE BANNED FROM GOING TO THE HOSPITAL!! All of that prompted metro Detroit's Beaumont hospital chain to take an unusual step Friday afternoon: banning visits from children under 13 until the flu season subsides. “We apologize for the inconvenience,” said a news release from Beaumont Health System, which operates eight major hospitals in southeast Michigan. “All Beaumont Health hospita…
