Mysterious Shrieking Sound Frustrates Oregon Community

Mysterious Shrieking Sound Frustrates Oregon Community :
Dave Nemeyer, fire marshal of the Forest Grove Fire and Rescue in Forest Grove, Oregon, told ABC News that he first learned of the strange noise after a local resident recorded and shared a video of it on the city’s Facebook page

One person describes the noise as the sound of someone needing change their brakes.. Another said that few have heard it and it’s been impossible to find the source, though gas lines and water valves have been ruled out..

If you don’t know already, there have been countless noises like this happening throughout the world.
And now the newest addition: Oregon.

White balloon

First off, if this publishes I will be amazed. It is the fourth time I attempted to write it and publish, but each time there is an error and it will not save or post. Other posts have been published without a problem.

Recall a few days ago when I posted that article about the ‘haunted balloon’ that followed a grieving mom at her son’s funeral? There is still ongoing debate as to whether the floating white balloon was just being guided by wind. Or if it was being guided by a hand beyond the grave.

At the end of the post, I didn’t opine. Paranormal events are only inane until you’re involved with one. I will never want to tell a grieving mother that the message she found comfort in was just useless coincidence.

And then I had a dream.
Literally. A dream two nights ago ..
Last night, perhaps thinking about this balloon too much, it showed up in my own dream! It floated around me, floated behind me.. At one point I recall in the dream the balloon actually beginning to act very independently and almost in a manner that was not conducive to peaceful activity. It had some sort of agenda, and the events that transpired did not bring me comfort but instead I was led to believe that balloon had a foreboding meaning. As though the white balloon should be avoided, as though it should be ignored to take away its power. And if it comes in contact with you, perhaps you’re next.

Since the dream occurred, I wrote about it four times. I become increasingly frustrated that regardless of what platform I attempted to post this from, it would not work. My iPhone froze up. My computer did the same. I tried on a third party computer and it completely deleted the post.
And now finally, I am attempting it from an un-disclosable platform in a last ditch effort to see if it works.
I certainly hope it does..
The dream seemed so real.
The white balloon’s shadow seemed sinister.
I certainly hope in reality it was from a kinder source than it appeared to be during my night terror.

NEW YORK TIMES: THE VERY DARK MAGIC OF ‘THE WITCH’ The story is...

NEW YORK TIMES: THE VERY DARK MAGIC OF ‘THE WITCH’

The story is written by Mekado Murphy.

A part of the reason for linking this, mainstream newspapers and reporters rarely praise horror. This movie, however, has been getting widespread attention not only for the scare factor it presents, but also the historical context in which it was created.

Robert Eggers spent lots of time researching and visiting museums. The movie, it’s said, is true history of the time it was created..

And even Stephen King said it was one of the scarier movies he’s seen..

This from the NYTIMES:

The writer and director Robert Eggers, a native of southern New Hampshire, dug deep into New England history for his debut feature, which unnerved audiences at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and earned the filmmaker the best director prize.

“Growing up in New England, you can’t help but be reminded of its past, with its dilapidated colonial farms and graveyards in the middle of the woods,” Mr. Eggers said by Skype. “I had a very strong idea as a kid about what New England’s mythic past was.”

….

In his early research, Mr. Eggers said he found that for many people in the 17th century, the real world and the fairy-tale world were one and the same: To them, witches were a reality. To show how deep a hold the witch had on settlers’ imaginations, Mr. Eggers decided to place viewers in the center of the period, as accurately as he could. He wanted his film to feel like “a Puritan’s nightmare,” he said. But he would have to be creative, working on a modest budget, $3.5 million. Here is a closer look into the detailed research and the handcrafted design that helped bring that nightmare to life onscreen.

Eggers did lots of research before creating the WITCH..

More from the TIMES:

To get a grasp on the thinking and language of the period, Mr. Eggers pored over books, church pamphlets from Cotton Mather, “The Discoverie of Witchcraft” (a 16th-century text that aims to disprove the existence of witches) and various sermons from Puritan ministers. To write the dialogue, he turned to the diaries of John Winthrop, a founder of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and Samuel Sewall, a judge involved in the Salem witch trials, mainly to better understand the Calvinist worldview.

“Those diaries aren’t necessarily riddled with witch stuff,” he said, “but I tried to capture the Puritan mind-set and get the audience to see how this family would think.”

The movie, besides looking visually amazing, looks incredible.

A number of sources, including VANITY FAIR, are already billing this as the best horror movie of the year..

CUTE SELFIE MOMENT GONE WRONG: KILLS BABY DOLPHINReal news from...

CUTE SELFIE MOMENT GONE WRONG: KILLS BABY DOLPHIN

Real news from Buenos Aires.. James Joiner from the DAILY BEAST reporting:

Two Franciscana dolphins were ripped from the waves near an Argentinan resort last week, then manhandled to shore, where they were passed around a clutching mob seeking cute selfie moments. In the process, at least one of the intelligent, playful cetaceans died from the experience. Franciscana, or La Plata, dolphins are unable to spend as long out of the water as their larger brethren.

“At least one of these dolphins suffered a horrific, traumatic and utterly unnecessary death, for the sake of a few photographs,” a spokesperson from the World Animal Protection group told ABC in Australia, condemning the despicable incident. “This terribly unfortunate event is an example of the casual cruelty people can inflict when they use animals for entertainment purposes.”

And then get this:

After being pet and pawed at by dozens of people, one of the small creatures was found discarded on the beach, its usefulness as a social-media prop at an end. It was left coated in sand and soon died slowly of dehydration..

There were a few people still snapping some last minute photos as the creature lay gasping for its last bits if air before death.

There are a number of societal issues within this article.. commentary on our culture can be made as well.

Feel free to make those..
And the next time you see a life form of any kind gasping for air and grasping for life, perhaps you should intervene before the selfie shot is taken..

Maybe?

An asteroid is about to pass so close to Earth that we’ll see it in the sky

An asteroid is about to pass so close to Earth that we’ll see it in the sky:

This is how the news agency linked reports this information:

Don’t worry, we aren’t about to go extinct like the dinosaurs. That said, a 30-meter wide asteroid will be passing Earth so close early next month that we might be able to see it in the sky, NASA has announced. And it might even hit Earth at some point in 2017.

This is disingenuous.. First of all science news–the real news–is often placed on back burners to lesser important things.. This asteroid, though small, is important. It should not be mocked.
We are about to potentially see one of the closest shaves ever. We may see it with out naked eye..
And what do agencies do? Make bad jokes about the dinosaurs becoming extinct along with a snippet sentence that we may be HIT WITH THE SAID ASTEROID during 2017..
Not a laugh matter.
The idea of this is all too common as of late. And yet here we are existent on a planet that seems to be in denial that eventually one day a bigger piece of space rock will nail us.
We laugh.
We regulate to the last story on nightly newscasts……
And yet daggers in soace lurk.

Time to get serious.

‘Haunted’ balloon comforts grieving mother at son’s funeral

‘Haunted’ balloon comforts grieving mother at son’s funeral :

Joy Ganda Vibar-Alamares was grieving for her son Trebby in the Philippines. After the balloon floats in a straight line to her, it changes direction and goes around her back.

There is debate online: A message from beyond the grave or a gust of wind just creating a beautiful coincidence caught on video by the grieving mother’s sister in law?

Debate away.
But remember .. When you have a brush with the paranormal, only YOU can decide if it was real or not.

THE PONTYPOOL CONDITION?A few months ago I found a surprise gem...

THE PONTYPOOL CONDITION?

A few months ago I found a surprise gem on Netflix: Pontypool. It’s a good horror movie from 2008 directed by Bruce McDonald and written by Tony Burgess, based on his novel Pontypool Changes Everything.. the movie follows a few radio hosts in a small town where a strange virus begins robbing people of their ability to talk..

I thought of Pontypool today when I saw a very real and frightening headline about a syndrome that is doing the same thing as the unseen force in the horror movie: Robbing people not of memories but their ability to talk. Period..

How scary reality can be.

Read this from the Associated Press on the virus, being reported globally:

WASHINGTON (AP) — A mysterious brain disorder can be confused with early Alzheimer’s disease although it isn’t robbing patients of their memories but of the words to talk about them.

It’s called primary progressive aphasia, and researchers said Sunday they’re finding better ways to diagnose the little-known syndrome. That will help people whose thoughts are lucid but who are verbally locked in to get the right kind of care.

“I’m using a speech device to talk to you,” Robert Voogt of Virginia Beach, Virginia, said by playing a recording from a phone-sized assistive device at a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. “I have trouble speaking, but I can understand you.”

Even many doctors know little about this rare kind of aphasia, abbreviated PPA, but raising awareness is key to improve care — and because a new study is underway to try to slow the disease by electrically stimulating the affected brain region.

The virus wasn’t discovered until the 1980s. Obviously it has been around for time and studying is being done..

More from the AP;

Now 66, Voogt was diagnosed 10 years ago, with a form of PPA that makes him unable to say words even though he can understand and type them via email, text or his assistive device. He owns a brain-injury rehabilitation center, and knew how to track down a specialist for diagnosis when he first had trouble retrieving words.

Sunday, Voogt patiently answered Hillis’ questions by typing into a device called the MiniTalk, or calling up verbal phrases he’d pre-programmed into it. Asked to say “dog,” Voogt forced out only a garble. But asked what cowboys ride, he typed horses and the device “said” the word.

His form of PPA also impacts grammar so that he has difficulty forming full sentences, Hillis said. Asked to write that’s “it’s a cold day in Washington,” Voogt typed a minute or two and the device’s recorder emitted “cold Washington D.C.”

Voogt typed that he started relying on the device in 2012, but lives independently and travels internationally. But asked how difficult the loss of language is to live with, he typed out a pretty bad rating — 70 percent

Me calling this this Pontypool condition is not meant to be done to mock .. This is actually as disturbing and tragic as the plot of a horror flick..

A brain scan with the condition:

Pontypool in action

King Henry and his turkey leg that never existed

I am going to add my voice to the countless others already clamoring about King Henry VIII and his famous turkey leg painting that, apparently on this timeline, never was..

A little explanation is in order.

I have written countless times about ‘time sips’ and the Mandela Effect here, here, and here, just to name a few.

The full conundrum can be found on the Mandela Effect website–this website may also spark interest that you will keep reading the rest. Basically, countless people remember seeing this painting with King Henry holding up a giant leg of fowl.. And countless people become shaken when they are realized to be wrong about that very fact. There is no such painting. Nothing in pop culture that resembles the memory we all have.. and nothing which can answer the reason why that very memory includes the same exact details..

I have been searching, for about a year, for something to disprove my proof of the Mandela Effect: This very painting. This entire King Henry issue hit me much harder than anything involving the Berenstain Bears, or even Nelson Mandella himself. As a matter of fact, I always knew Mandella to be alive. At least when I started paying attention to national and foreign news in my early teens in the 1990s..

My son Ayden, age 5 soon, told me that when he was “a kid,” the ‘green light’ was on ‘top of the red light’. That made me laugh.. then a few other events occurred and my personal world was rocked, and figured that my son, saying how the red light changed from his own 1 year old memory, had a time slip.

That is how I arrived to the whole Mandela effect to begin with, along with Starfire Tor on Art Bell and callers to his program saying that they believed Mandela died in prison.

Now back to the subject at hand, or in hand, the turkey leg.
I recall exactly what others recall.. a painting. An opulent setting. The grand feast in front of Henry, his eyes were heavy and looking somewhat sad. The turkeyish leg in his right hand, so on the left hand side of the painting. And I also vaguely recall somewhat of a window setting behind him, maybe.

The memories are so much the same as others.
And get this.. I recall it being discussed in my 4th or 5th grade social studies class, with all of the kids looking at the painting and chuckling. This would have been in the late 1980s…

Last year during a family breakfast at Friendlys, I used the crayons that my son was given to color to create this quit little picture of what I remembered, so I can show my wife in further detail:

The waitress showed a bit of interest, so I asked her if she recalls that painting with King Henry VIII eating a turkey leg. She chuckled, and said “of course I do, that looks just like it.”
Indeed it does..

So it goes back to the idea that we all saw the same thing, or series of things, which formed a similar image in our minds.
but why so exact.. Could we all have been this tricked? This mind-warped? Could the same joke thought of Henry eating a giant feast coupled with famous paintings be this able to fool the brain?
Why so many pop culture references to a painting that does not exist..
Why does every single person I talk to say they saw this painting?
And why is it gone?
Disturbing to say the least.

Ending with this quote may be the best:

“I love Bill Clinton. I think we should make him king. I’m talking the red robe, the turkey leg – everything.”  Tim McGraw on Bill Clinton in 2014. I wonder if he had his Mandlla Effect hit him yet?

Another glitch in the matrix

The comedian Sinbad was not in a movie where he played a genie. I am sorry to say.. A few people I talked to remember him fondly being in the movie Shazaam. It came out around the same time as Kazaam with Shaq.

And all of that is plain wrong.

Shazaam did not exist. Shaq did play a genie in a tremendously unmemorable and awful movie. But Sinbad did not..

This is the latest ‘glitch in the matrix’ that even got me.
I recall this myself. I remember him in the outfit. I don’t quite remember the name of the film as some others do, but I am very clear on my memory of him being in an awful un-funny movie when I was younger.

All of this is fodder for crowds of people who have a new-found appreciation of the Mandela Effect. Every day.

For those yet unaware, or those who do not quite know the label to call their strange memory lapses or sudden shocks to learn that reality is different from what they thought, it is called the Mandela Effect. There are people–and lots of them including Stafire Tor on an old Art Bell show that somewhat started all of this–that believed Nelson Mandela died in prison in the 1980s. They recall his funeral. They remember the news headlines and nightly news reporting. And they were shocked that he rose to the presidency of South Africa in the 90s. Because, to them, he was long dead.

The time traveler himself!? Mandela!?
There are many other ‘glitches’ that so often occur since.
You may know of the famous debate: Berenstein Bears or Berenstain? You can self-Google and medicate if you want to be in that debate.

There are countless others piling up on Reddit and other forums. People in large numbers mis-remember things. And somewhat creepy: They remember the same mistaken memory. As though a timeline shift occurred..

I have had personal oddities relative to this subject. Very personal ones that occurred when my father almost died in intensive care in 2013–right around the same exact week that Nelson Mandela died (for the second or first time depending on your memory)..

After a bit of time, you grow used to your memories becoming defunct as timelines alter. I have at least ..

Including last night, when I found out that Sinbad did not appear in the movie dressed like I remember him appearing in a movie.

I asked someone younger in my family if she remembers. Her response? “Who is Sinbad?”

The timeline for him, at least, has shifted…

A real life haunting

A little ghost story–one that hits a bit closer to home than anything else I have written.

Tonight, my wife and I took my son Ayden to a birthday party for a classmate at the Ashland Pennsylvania ELKS–sorry for the bad press (or good depending on your point of view) I am giving them on this matter..

The party was fine. It took place in the basement level bowling alley. Kids had a blast.. the cake was fine. And the pizza was as it should be.

There was one moment, though.. One strange event.

You see, the bathroom in the basement is unisex. So both genders shared their turns using it.. At one point, my son wanted to wash his hands. We made him wait because all three of us heard people in there. We figured it would be proper and kind to allow them to finish their business before barging in.

The seconds turned into minutes.. no one was coming out. So I decided to go in..
No one..
no one was there.
Not a soul.

The bathroom was empty and quiet. The voices we heard and shadows we saw–all there of us–were gone. Instead remaining were just two urinals and a toilet.

My son had the most amazing reaction of all. He immediately said “we just saw a ghost!” Almost excitedly as a matter of fact.

My wife and I were left pondering a few things. We attempted scientific logic. We tried making excuses for the voices we heard. We wanted to explain the shadows. And funny, both my wife and I independently agreed: We heard and saw three people. We just both agreed on that. Three people.

This is not the first time something unexplained happened to us. I saw things before. I think we all have. We just need to take a step back and consider the times we do. But the funny thing is the acceptance my son had to the entire episode. He sort of, well, just figured he took part in some paranormal event. And does not even know why..

And perhaps that memory will stick. The shadows at the Elks. Almost the same as it was for my at the age of 5 seeing people in the choir of the former St. Ignatius in Centralia, along with hearing whispers come from the confessional ni the church at night.

But Ayden was fine with it all….He went on with life and ate cake, enjoyed bowling, and had a blast.

I did a few Google searches tonight. Nothing found. I did locate a few strange sites about ghosts of Ashland, PA.. but nothing specific about this location.

We do know what we saw. We agree on what we saw. And heard. Shadows along the wall.. voices echoing in the room. No one there and not a trace of humans within.

It was an interesting moment.

And quite possibly my son’s first paranormal event..

Thinking about an old friend who lost his life to cancer last year

Thinking about an old friend who lost his life to cancer last year. Every now and then his face pops up in my mind.. and his favorite song, ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN, does as well..

I get comforted by this song.
But.. what does not comfort me is the lack of messages from beyond the grave. He always said he may try to send me one from the great beyond.
Perhaps that violates the rules of space and time. Or .. space and time do not exist.

I just don’t know this cold, dark, and snowy Saturday night in February. I just don’t know.

Game changer ..

Developing now..

Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.

Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa.

THE FOREVER BRAIN

It’s an old legend.. Walt Disney saved his brain and froze it ..
I am sure you heard that one.
It’s really not true–at least not to the best of our rational knowledge. But a new truth has emerged similar in nature–this time it’s real.

For the first time, scientists have been able to  cryogenically freeze a brain and then revive it.

Consider that for a bit .. and then really consider the positive and even negative ramifications. Playing God with a trump card.

Here are the details:  Researchers from 21st Century Medicine (21CM) managed to freeze the brain of a rabbit using a technique known as Aldehyde-stabilized cryopreservation (ASC). Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate Robert McIntyre led the team. He wrote this in a press release:
Using a combination of ultrafast chemical fixation and cryogenic storage, it is the first demonstration that near  perfect, long-term structural preservation of an intact mammalian brain is achievable

The UK EXPRESS reporter Sean Martin writes,
They achieved this by filling the vascular system of the brain with chemicals that are designed to halt the decaying process, and then froze it to -135 degrees celsius.

When the brain was warmed, the scientists found that the majority of its cell membranes, synapses and structures were still in tact and ready to function.

A statement read: “The key breakthrough was the quick perfusion of a deadly chemical fixative (glutaraldehyde) through the brain’s vascular system, rapidly stopping metabolic decay and fixing proteins in place by covalent crosslinks.”

You know, of course, what is coming next? The mammal phase..

The brain is the most uncharted of all territoties when considering the human body. It’s being charted more and more as time goes on. Even the very notion of at what point death occurs is being shaken and stirred by such advancements in knowledge–the time of death has been moving rapidly further when considering that the brain could last longer than other organs..

And now the chances of eternal life. Or at least closer to that compared to what we have now.

Would YOU take the chance to live forever?

The Kraang!

Forgive me.. But the super bowl was awful.. The commercials were terrible. Lady Gaga gave me the chills but they wore off before halftime..

Nonetheless one worthwhile moment occurred when the trailer for the upcoming June release of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 came out.. It had brief glimpses of Rock Steady.. It had Bebop.. And yes it even showed off a small short snippet of the Kraang..

Nothing about Baxter Stockman but he'll be present as well.

I am very excited about this movie.. My son is too.

Can't wait for June..

HEATHER WADE REVEALED

'Redacted" never showed her face on Bellgab. Since being the host of MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT, Heather Wade continued the tradition of shadowy mystique..

Something may have changed her mind this weekend. On Facebook, Heather Wade unredacted herself to show her face to the world at large..

wadeHer biggest fear was revealing her face.
Perhaps now that she did, she will own the show more than she has since Art Bell departed in 2015..

Midnight strikes.
And a new voice--and face--of paranormal radio is speaking..

Art Bell sitdown with Michael Vandeven

After months of intrigue and controversy since Art Bell left his radio show MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT, he sat down on the GABCAST with BellGab's Michael Vandeven..

Vandeven opened the show with a hope the program will become one you can  listen to 20 years from now. He succeeded in that regard. The show is an instant classic in time.

Vandeven's well-paced interview opened with lighter fare--talk of Trump and Sanders. From there it delved deep into the issues that caused Bell to leave his program late 2015 after a series of incidents scared him from the program--incidents well documented by the HORROR REPORT..

THE REGRET

Among the many revelations on the program, the biggest may have been Bell's regret over his initial words the night that a gun shot occurred near him as he walked to his studio before a program.  It was that night that Bell took to Facebook to announce he was done radio. Finished. For good. Even Artbell.com posted a 'hangs it up for the last time' posting.. Tonight Bell said he wished he would have thought about those words before saying it. He mentioned he is interested in returning again to radio, but unsure of when to with the 'threat' still being present.  Mandeven joked that perhaps Bell should invest in a 'PR GUY' as opposed to his 'go with the gut' style that so many fans have come to either love, hate, or just get used to.

CUMULUS STORM

The overriding tragic nature of Bell's quitting: CUMULUS radio was prepping to pick him up and broadcast MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT on potentially hundreds of stations. While Bell said he regretted not having a chance for bigger listening audiences, his love of radio would allow him to just go on the internet and just do a show online. Bell said if a deal would have been made with Cumulus, it would only be a 'hand shake' but no purchase. Bell argues that Cumulus would not have owed the show or content. The lament of listeners: Everything people wanted for years, trouncing George Noory and Premiere Radio, was dashed by Bell's sudden quitting.

Bell mentioned being depressed knowing what an amazing show with great audio MIDNIGHT was when he hosted.

HEATHER WADE

Bell defended Heather Wade--the producer of MIDNIGHT who was forced into wearing dual hats and taking over for him when he left. Wade has faced fierce criticism from some, and some acceptance from others.  I have personally spoken to Heather Wade. She has faced enormous work and behind the scenes issues concerning MIDNIGHT. Wade says each night that she is keeping the seat warm for Bell. Tonight on the Gabcast, Bell ducked Vandeven's question on when the seat would be filled by Bell again.

A surprise visit or two may occur, but Bell said he does not plan on five nights a week.

Bell said he believes Wade should say, "This is Midnight in the Desert with Heather Wade," and make it her own.

BELLGAB

Art Bell lectured Bellgab posters about their treatment of Wade post Midnight hosting.

Bellgab trolls were also called out.

He did not agree that Bellgab was 'vaguely lovable' as said before. But getting there again.

The past and present

Bell spoke highly of his late wife Ramona.. He called her intelligent, fiery, and a wonderful woman.

Bell called Mel and his hole one of his favorite guests and most credible shows..

Surprisingly no mention was made of Father Malachi Martin..

Bell said his favorite period of time doing a show was the present: Midnight in the Desert..

ON Hoagland

Bell said that Richard Hoagland, despite his argument of the case, is not carrying the network. He said Heather Wade is.

On death

Bell said he hopes there is a heaven and not a hell. He said, 'I'll know sooner than later.'

Perils of small asteroids

2013 TX68 will make a pass by earth on March 5. It my be as far as 9 million miles away--safe. Or 11,000 mile away--uh oh.. At this point the calculators of such things are unsure and not able to give a definite answer.

It is considered a small asteroid. But at 100 feet in diameter, it is 2 times bigger than the asteroid that shocked Chelyabinsk Russia a few years back. Remember that day? We were watching an asteroid SAFETY bypass earth when the Russian city was it without notice causing damage and injuries? That day.. Sweeper effect perhaps.

This asteroid, discovered October 2013, is not expected to hit the planet in March. However there are some potential dates when the planet should watch for skyfalls... September 2017, and then 2046 and 2097.

Recall one thing when considering a potential 11,000 mile distance: The moon is 238,000 miles away. That would make a 2013 TX68 flyby 95% closer than the moon particularly uncomfortable..

All Ides of March eyes on the 5th. Then we can breath until September 17..

THE DEMON HOUSE OF INDIANA DEMOLISHED

Do you recall the exorcism house in Indiana? It made a ton of news a few years back. The HORROR REPORT chronicled much of the media circus involving the Ammons house back in 2012..  Including the news in October  2014 of that year that Zak Bagans bought the house to film a documentary about paranormal activity that was supposedly taking place within.

Today I learned that a piece of paranormal lure has been demolished. Literally..

The Latoya Ammons  house has been knocked down.

As reported by the INDY STAR, a paper that did its due diligence and brought the story of the Ammons house to the world, reports, that it was Bagans who made the call:

Bagans interviewed numerous police officials, a former DCS worker and others for his documentary. He would not say whether he interviewed Ammons or her family.

The home is where Ammons and her mother, Rosa Campbell, said many of the strange things happened.

Bagans told IndyStar his reason for destroying the home will be presented in the documentary. He said his goal is to launch the documentary at a major film festival this year.

This picture below caused a serious stir when it was photographed with a figure standing in the window--at a time when police say the house was vacant.

Former home once occupied by LaToya Ammons and her

The history of the Gary Indiana house will be debated and long talked about. A priest called it a portal to hell.. Children supposedly chanted satanically ..

And let us not forget: Officials from both the police and government agencies said that the haunted tale Ammons told was real.

The house now gone.
Perhaps for the best.
Though you can't destroy evil..

FLASH: ART BELL WILL BE ON THE GABCAST

It has been a wild few months since Art Bell abruptly left MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT. Since that time, current host Heather Wade has been forced into a muddy position of fighting with members of the message board she was frequented, BellGab.Com.

Even more, Bell himself used Facebook to disavow himself of the message board, calling it a meaner place filled with trolls. Wade and Steve Warner, Bateman on Bellgab, even had a very public fight in which Warner accused Wade of repeatedly calling him begging him to do MIDNIGHT. Wade countered back that she was trying to prove Warner wouldn't do it. Public airing of laundry.. whether dirty or not..

Wild indeed.

And now even more wild given the news that Bell himself will appear on the Gabcast this coming Thursday February 4, 2016.

Bell took to Bellgab.com for the occasion, saying,
I said I would do the Gab Cast and I will, however if it is filled with people attacking my Family or truly foul stuff I won't be there long. I hope this can be done in a adult way and I hope that is not to much to ask. I don't mind hard questions but I do ask that people be civil.

Undoubtedly it will be an open and honest conversation with the emotions of fans who feel scorned and a host who, at this point, may or may not return to the air//

Excitement has been building for....oh my God, about four years now? The primary season is upon us.. the groundhog says an early spring.  Donald Trump's hair saw its shadow in Iowa. And despite Ted Cruz's inability to score a kiss from his daughter, he won in a surprise victory. Trump down for the count? Probably not.. he surged late in Iowa and banked more on New Hampshire and South Carolina. And really, Iowa hasn't picked a winner in more than 8 years (Santorum 12 and Huckabee 08) ...

That is not stopping the media pile on. They propped him up for ratings for months.. and now they are going to try to take him down. New York papers first.

The stunning headline and photo from the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS is amazing.. it's really not journalism, but it is showcasing a vibrant style that only the UK papers have made their own.

The paper also forfeited journalistic standards with the employment of this sentence:  The outspoken mogul suffered a “yuge” loss in the Hawkeye State’s caucuses Monday night, finishing a distant second to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and nearly falling into third place.

Yuge indeed.

There is reaction to the hit piece.

But what may be an even bigger and stranger story was captured by the Drudge Report today with its headline: AMERICA ON A COIN TOSS.

cointoss

There is apparently a rule in Iowa.. when a caucus is deadlocked, you toss a coin. In this election, Bernie Sanders and Hillary were tied in 6 -- SIX -- deadlocked voted.. Coins were tossed. Each time, all 6, Hillary Clinton won.

Karen Friar writes,
The race between the Democrat presidential hopefuls was so tight in the Iowa caucus Monday that in at least six precincts, the decision on awarding a county delegate came down to a coin toss. And Clinton won all six, media reports said. The situation came about in precincts where Sanders and Clinton were running neck-and-neck, but there were an odd number of delegates, so they couldn’t be evenly split between the two. That was the case in precincts in Ames, Newton, West Branch, Davenport and two in Des Moines, the Des Moines Register reported.

The media reports may all be focusing on the perceived DownFall of Trump (it will not happen, at least not yet) but the real story should be the nearly 50+% that Bernie Sanders acquired. And get this amazing stat that was reported by MSNBC, anchored by Brian Williams (he's back and will live to tell the tall tale about it): Apparently exit polls showed a stunning near 90% of voters under the age of 30 went for Sanders. Stop and think about that number for a second.. 91% to be exact. A crotchety old white-haired Senator. And 90% of people younger are ditching Hillary and the 20th century to ride his wave.. THAT my friends is the real story.

Enough politics for now.

Back to the news.
As NOT reported by the fine journalists at the DAILY NEWS.

The 33-year-old photo, signed sealed and delivered

In May of 2015, I posted a photograph of my son Ayden in a store that was closing in my mall. In the article, I mentioned how similar the photo looked to one taken of me, when I was three years old, in Centralia Pennsylvania.  I have the photograph of myself.  I did not publish it due to copyright issues. It was from a book called SLOW BURN, a 1980s photodocumentary with pictures taken by Renée Jacobs.

For those who don't know much about Centralia, an underground mine fire started decades ago. A series of bad missteps from officials and twists and turns of neighborly breakdowns occurred, and the town went from 2000 people to ... just about zero. The town has also become a tourist attraction, it's home to the famed graffiti highway, and the movie SILENT HILL was based on it. An upcoming project promises a television series based on the town.

THIRTY YEARS LATER.

I constantly peruse through historical documents, not only of life itself but of my own personal existence. I can be nostalgic when unneeded.. but I also believe a bit of self recollection helps maturity.

In that regard, I reached out to photographer Renée Jacobs. It's funny. I was pictured in the book on page 13 standing next to a borehole in my back yard, and my parents were both quoted. I actually recall it .. Vaguely at best. But I recall the moment! I remember the exact time it was taken.  It was warm.. I recall the smells..  The picture is in black and white, but I have it in my mind in vivid color.. That is probably how most of your lives are too, you can think back and pinpoint a single action during your early toddler or childhood years. Just a brief moment in time, one captured with a feeling. My feeling at the time the picture was taken: Confusion and sadness. Friends were vanishing. Houses were too.. I loved watching demolition teams come in and destroy entire blocks of row homes.. it wasn't until I grew up more that I realized they were destroying my hometown from top to bottom.

After my contact to Ms. Jacobs, I received something in the mail, and I could not be more ecstatic.

THANK YOU!

Renée Jacobs sent my an autographed print of page 13, featuring the young me with wide eyes and a future to come, along with a note.

The work on Jacobs' website is stunning and beautiful. It may not be for the WORK atmosphere. A link to her page,  http://www.reneejacobs.com/,  comes perhaps with a bit of caution..

Renée Jacobs' black and white fine art nude photography gives the viewer a luxurious peek into the ultra-sensual world of the feminine. Beyond sexy, her photographs are dreamy and secretive, daring and alluring. Her subjects give Renée their trust and the result is a collaborative journey which fulfills fantasies.

Jacobs' work has been exhibited and celebrated around the world. She also received the prestigious International Photography Award for Fine Art Nude.  Her 2009 & 2010 photo calendars went to #1 on Amazon. She had work as a photojournalist. Just recently, an announcement came from Duke University:
The Archive of Documentary Arts, a part of the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Duke University, is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Renée Jacobs' archive of her project Slow Burn: A Photodocument of Centralia, Pennslyvania. Slow Burn, first published in 1986 by University of Pennsylvania Press, chronicles Centralia’s demise from an underground coal mine fire and depicts a singular epic event in Pennsylvania history, representing the confluence of environmental, scientific, bureaucratic, and emotional tragedies

I love this part of her bio: "Her first book, Slow Burn: A Photodocument of Centralia, Pennsylvania was originally published in 1986 and re-issued in 2010 to favorable reviews in The New York Times Review of Books and photo-eye.  After a 15 year detour as a civil rights lawyer, Renée returned to photography. "

A detour in life! One that takes you away from your passion and zeal..your Zest for life and creative spirit.

I am sure she was a fine attorney.
Looking at her photos, I am glad she returned back from the detour.

And Renée, I couldn't be more appreciate and ecstatic over the personal note and photo.

Thank you.

Cauliflower in space

In case you have not heard, there has been cauliflower found in Mars. Well not really. But rest assured, before you listen to people are using this SMITHSONIAN article as 'proof' of aliens, there is some interesting scientific theory behind what the SPIRIT ROVER found in 2008. Or maybe proof that the movie THE MARTIAN was actually a documentary..

Nonetheless here is the news from the red planet. Arizona University scientists Jack Farmer and Steven Ruff say that we my be on to evidence of past ice on the planet. (Maybe ice now too, people?!) The cauliflowerish stuff looks a it like structures formed around geysers on the planet Earth. These deposits on Mars are called opaine silica, and they were noticed on the planet in the Gustev crater. Wonder what Martians called that crater. Wonder what Martians called their planet...? Nonetheless... The layers ok Ike heads of cauliflower coming out of the ground. In this case the very red Martian ground.

The prospects are enormous.. This could prove past life. IT could also turn lots of scientific data on its head. Trouble on that: It does get difficult to study such things so many millions of miles away..However it could make the hunt and excitement for life more exciting. Except to those who have already long ago decided that life on Mars did exist. Or does.

As evidence? The rodent on Mars. MUCH MORE conclusive that cauliflower.
