Harvey Danger

Harvey rammed into Texas last week, unleashing a torrent of rainfall, clogging streets into rivers, and leaving residents stranded in their flood-stricken homes -- but the storm's havoc is still not over. Harvey could dump up 15 inches of rain for portions of eastern Texas and western Louisiana, including the Houston area. This would deal another blow by drenching already saturated areas and hampering already difficult rescue efforts.

Tropical Storm Harvey is starting to move east and heavy rainfall is expected to worsen the "catastrophic and life-threatening" flooding situation in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana, according to the National Weather Service.

Our senses are being shocked into submission but the images gracing our television sets and phone screens.. Images and videos of people catching fish in their living room.. nursing home patients up to their necks in water until being rescued.. entire families commuting by boat to leave their home, and all of their possessions..  Military personnel having to rescue people from rooftops..

And now this: Rivers rising 50 feet--YES, 50 FEET.. television studios being flooded during live broadcasts.. the storm moving into the Gulf only to strengthen again and then hit again..

The areas leveled by this flood aren't seeing relief yet. The weather keeps coming! The crisis of elf proportions isn't over at this time

....those who left their homes may not be able to get back for months..for years..ever.

This is beyond crisis level..

Rising waters...nuclear power plants..chemical scares..anxiety..

And all of this just one week after the Great American Eclpse.

I read a lot of people who believed the eclipse was a harbinger of doom, some who argued that it was an event that will change the course of American history. Even John Hogue, a prophecy expert, appeared on Coast to Coast AM only too hypothesize that perhaps the Great American Eclipse was going to signal the end of the Great American century.

The entire Gulf of Mexico seemingly is turning into the Gulf of Houston.

Harrowing photos and videos are not going to stop. The rain hasn't yet. Normally the rescue efforts begin to take place as a storm ends. This storm hasn't ended yet. As a matter of fact, as I write this post, it is beginning to take shape only to strike again.

May God bless this entire area.. May God bless America.
The darkness truly has invdaded.

Tobe Hooper, director of The Texas Chainsaw...

coalspeaker:
Tobe Hooper, director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has died aged 74, the Los Angeles County Coroner has confirmed. The cause of death is not yet known.
Hooper was born in Austin, Texas in 1943. For much of the 1960s he worked as a university professor and a documentary cameraman. He made his directing debut with Eggshells, a low-budget hippie movie released in 1969.
Then came the TEXAS CHAINSAW hit..
And then this..
After making 1981 slasher film The Funhouse, which was unsuccessfully prosecuted in the UK, Hooper was chosen to direct the supernatural horror Poltergeist.. Speilberg couldn’t. Hooper benefited.
Hooper continued to direct into his later years but was never able to match the success of his early work. His later films included monster movie Crocodile, released in 2000, a 2004 remake of crime drama The Toolbox Murders and the 2005 zombie film Mortuary. Hooper’s final film was 2013 horror Djinn, which was funded by and set in the United Arab Emirates. He is survived by his two sons.

Early Reactions to 'It' Praise Stephen King Film: 'Totally Terrifying,' 'Scary as S—t'

Early Reactions to 'It' Praise Stephen King Film: 'Totally Terrifying,' 'Scary as S—t':

Journalists who saw an early screening of It are writing their early, spoiler-free reactions on social media — and they are overwhelmingly positive.

“I think it’s one of the finest Stephen King adaptations ever made,” EW’s Anthony Breznican wrote. “Beyond killer clowns, It also delves into the grief & anger kids feel when they realize those who should love & protect them do the opposite. These are themes in King’s stories that filmmakers often ignore. But the best adaptations figure out they’re the most vital part.”

Fandango’s Erik Davis described it as “creepy, bloody, super funny, adorably romantic and hands down among my favorite movies of the year.” Phil Nobile Jr. of Birth.Movies.Death called it “a very handsome, polished execution of a story you know inside out,” while Collider’s Haleigh Foutch answered the question on every fan’s mind: yes, it’s “scary as sh–.”

Sort of a strange little photo making its way around the internet..

  • The painting is called Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield
  • Mr Pynchon was a successful fur trader who founded Springfield, Massachusetts..
  • The painting is from 1937..

  • Most historians say the mystery object is a mirror - used widely in the 17th century

  • But that isn’t stopping people from pondering if the mystery item is actually a smart phone!
  • Look at the way he holds it! The way he stares.. Could it be an iPhone? or… maybe the other burning question.. An Android!?

Warner Bros and DC are in the early stages of another Batman Universe spinoff movie, this one telling the origin story of the signature villain The Joker. This will be the first film under a new banner that has yet to be named in which WB can expand the canon of DC properties and create unique storylines with different actors playing the iconic characters.

Enormous Asteroid Is Passing Close by Earth in Two Weeks Time:

On 1 September, a mammoth 4.4 kilometer (2.7 mile) chunk of rock will pass within an astronomical whisker of our planet – the largest near-Earth object to come this close since NASA set up its Near Earth Observations program in 1998.

But .. it’s far far away.

18 times the distance between Earth and the Moon this asteroid poses no threat..

Removal of Westerly mystery object scrubbed, rough surf to blame :

Rocky’s Tree Service was planning to pull an eight-legged metallic object up from the ocean floor Tuesday night. But the extrication has been canceled due to deteriorating conditions on the beach, East Beach Association President Peter Brockmann confirmed.

“We’ve had high surf and strong rip tides for the past couple of days. Not sure if [it’s] related to Gert, but [the storm] will make matters worse for the next couple of days,” Brockmann said.

Here’s what August’s solar eclipse will look like from your house

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER is right: Horror movies that show too much lack in horror

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER is right: Horror movies that show too much lack in horror:

From their article:

Horror movies function best the less their viewers know about their subjects. Think, for example, of the dapper aberration in Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook, or the faceless entity from David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows; both monsters in those films have defined rules of behavior, and more importantly, an absolute dearth of backstory. If you want to go classic, look no further than Pinhead (Douglas William Bradley), who lacks an origin story for the better part of two movies, until we learn that he used to be human in Hellraiser II: Hellbound’s climax. Once we’re privy to a snippet of Pinhead’s background, he loses his oomph as a villain, arguably not just for the rest of the movie but for the rest of the Hellraiser series. (And if you want to straddle the classic/contemporary line, recall how Rob Zombie’s Halloween films attempt to humanize Michael Myers take away from the character’s driving unfathomable qualities. He’s supposed to be evil without reason.)

Could not agree more.

THE EVIL SPIRIT FIRE

THE AP REPORTS

Fire officials say residents of an Orange County apartment that was gutted by fire were burning candles to ward off evil spirits before the blaze broke out.

Officials tell the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/2hLEVf1 ) that people were burning candles and sage before flames erupted Tuesday night in a Costa Mesa duplex.

The fire was mostly contained to a bedroom and was quickly doused.

Some residents were displaced but nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but fire officials say people burning candles or using open flames should keep a careful eye on them.

It is being called the ‘UFO Ghost village’ in the Wandli district of Taiwan..

The flying saucers are located in the Wanli District of Taiwan.

Designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, the UFOs were designed originally as ski chalets. However in this case they were used as a cheap alternative to affordable housing.

There were several of these communities around the world.

The houses typically contained a bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen. They also had a fireplace and six plastic lounge chairs.

Sinead O'Connor needs your thoughts on prayers

Sinead O'Connor says she is suicidal and living in a New Jersey motel »

Sinead O'Connor posted the clip on Facebook revealing she was all by herself at the $70-a-night Travelodge motel in Hackensack, New Jersey, and fighting to stay alive.

In the video filmed from the bed of her room in Hackensack, the mother-of-four said: 'I am now living in a Travelodge motel in the a**e end of New Jersey. I'm all by myself.

'And there's absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist - the sweetest man on earth, who says I'm his hero - and that's about the only f***ing thing keeping me alive at the moment... and that's kind of pathetic.

'I want everyone to know what it's like, that's why I'm making this video.

'Mental illness, it's like drugs, it doesn't give a s*** who you are, and equally what's worse, it's the stigma, it doesn't give a s*** who you are.

'Suddenly all the people who are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like s***. It's like a witch hunt.'

States Preparing For Historic Eclipse Like A Natural Disaster!

States Preparing For Historic Eclipse Like A Natural Disaster! »

According to greatamericaneclipse.com, another 1.8 to 7.4-million people will travel into the path on Aug. 21. Several small towns and less populated states are preparing to see their populations double or even triple in the week leading up to the solar event.

And in our country of fear–a nation on edge constantly since 9/11 so many years ago–everything becomes frantic..

Several counties in Idaho and Oregon have already issued emergency declarations. Local officials are citing increased public safety risks, financial damage, and excess costs of cleanup and property damage for the alerts…

The path of totality is in population zones not really prepared for an influx of a great amount of people..

But the panic in media that has been displayed is over the top.

We are on the verge of seeing a major historic event–once in a lifetime event for some people alive today.

Can we please.. PLEASE.. just enjoy it?

Maybe in 2024.

City morgues across America filled thanks to heroin overdoses

TOWNS THAT DREAD SUNDOWN..

The bodies are stacked high–from the floor to the ceiling. =

This CNN story is focusing on Ohio–even a tidbit about a sheriff of Clermont County whose wife is a heroin addict.
Police and officials have learned in the state that the drug addiction crisis is not just about treating addicts as criminals: Medical experts now need to have a say..

One focal point is Montgomery County in Ohio: Experts are predicting that there are going to be about 800 overdose deaths this year–doubling last year’s 349.

Interstates 70 and 75 are the hubs for cartel and dealers–those two major highways cross the nation and have been using Ohio as the the destination point of shipments for the Northeast corridor..

This is similar to my own state: Interstates 80 and 81 intersect in Hazleton. There is an amazing restaurant called TOP OF THE 80S, but the town is also the location of a drug-hub ..

Heroin highways is what they are called: Major highways that are used to continue the drug nightmare all across a nation with towns that dread sundown..

A moment in history

I am preparing to write up a lengthly post about why I think, all of these years later, so many people are still fascinated and constantly watch footage of the attacks of September 11, 2001. And in the mean time I realized that on this day in 2005, August 7, Peter Jennings met his fate.

I did not want the moment to pass without mentioning what a brilliant and amazing reporter I thought Jennings was. His voice was able to comfort me through a number of troubling world events. His evening news broadcast was reliable.. The day he died was a terrible moment.

On that note, here was the final sign off from the man of the evening news hour on April 5 2005. With class.

PHANTOM RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD.

My newest fascination is also my oldest: Phantom rain drops..

Those weird moments when you suddenly feel a drop somewhere on your body, mostly on open skin such as arms, your neck, or the top of your head.. you pause for a moment, look up, look around.. check for wetness.. wonder why on a sunny day you’d be hit with a drop..

And even ponder if a bird’s poop may have inhabited your skin for just a moment in time. There are endless pages on REDDIT and other websites that actually speak about this weird phenomenon .. And yes, there are valid scientific theories as to why it occurs. Tingling sensations in your nerve endings that sometimes can cause a ticklish feeling to overcome you, or even a painful throbbing out of no where. Or… a phantom rain drop..

With every rational idea comes a paranormal twist. Some online claim that not only do they feel phantom drops but they also FEEL water afterwards! There are a few who claim they hear rushing noises of water only to find nothing.. people who believe a rain show is taking place and look out a window and see nothing but bright sunshine ..

It’s weird. It happens to me, and when it does, it is just plain weird. For me, I never felt water. I felt the sensation that water hit me.. It happens from time to time and when it does, it is very exact to how water would feel during the beginnings of a sudden rain shower.

When it happens inside you check your ceiling for evidence of a pipe bursting. Yes it is odd. But paranormal may be a stretch–unless you’re one of those contenders who believe you actually not only get the sensation but also get the feeling of water finding a home on your body and rolling down your otherwise dry skin.

So .. a question for all, I would love to hear responses. Did this ever happen to you? Did you feel the feeling? And .. did you ever actually pause and wonder why…
