The earth was almost impacted by an asteroid last Friday--without warning and without much knowledge of its existence!

The UK DAILY MAIL is reporting that the asteroid came within 8700 miles of earth (8700, not a misprint) .. Astronomers noticed it, the DAILY MAIL says, only 15 hours before it made its closest approach to the planet..Its orbit brought it 30 times nearer than the moon..
