First five minutes of STRANGER THINGS 5 revealed

The Stranger Things world premiere event just wrapped, and it ended with something huge — the first five minutes of Season 5.

The scene opens with a young Will Byers in the Upside Down, softly singing “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” It’s eerie, familiar, and heavy with everything we know he’s been carrying. Suddenly, a Demogorgon appears. There’s a struggle — Will fights, but he’s dragged deeper into the dark.

    We’re taken to Vecna’s lair.

Out of the mist, Vecna slowly emerges and approaches Will. He tells him that, “at long last,” they are finally going to begin. Then, in one of the most unsettling visuals yet, Vecna places his tentacles over Will’s mouth and inserts something into him.

    Cut to black.
    STRANGER THINGS logo.
    The music hits.

    And that’s it.

The crowd reportedly lost it. Social media is already spiraling. The final chapter is finally starting. The slow burn, the buildup, the finish line — it’s all here.

    Season 5 has officially begun.

Sad red carpet: TUDUM goes upside down..

Just as the big Stranger Things 5 live event was set to start on TUDUM, it …. went down.

Fans across the net are decrying the upside down nature of the big red carpet event!

The first 5 minutes were set to be shown –at some point during the 4 hour event ..

But when the initial stream ‘started,’ people all over were just angry and venting on social media..

Little gremlins will return in 2027

There have been rumors for years—maybe decades—about another Gremlins movie. Every so often, whispers would pop up online and then fade away. Well, it looks like this time it’s actually happening. Several entertainment outlets are now reporting that a new Gremlins film is officially on the way, with a planned release sometime in 2027.

Chris Columbus is reportedly returning to lead the project, and Steven Spielberg will also be involved, which makes the entire thing feel like a genuine continuation of the franchise rather than a cash-grab reboot. That alone gives fans a reason to be optimistic.

Details are being kept under wraps for now—no confirmed plot, no confirmed cast, nothing concrete beyond the creative team. But if this is moving forward the way it’s being discussed, we’ll definitely be getting more updates in the coming months.

Honestly, the biggest shock might not even be that Gremlins is coming back…it’s realizing that 2027 is only two years away. Time is moving fast. Maybe too fast. But hey—if we’re speeding into the future, at least we’re bringing the Mogwai with u

  • The comet lost his tail

    The comet lost his tail

The comet Atlas — or maybe we should say “comet,” because things are getting weird — is back in the news again. For months now, Harvard Professor Avi Loeb has been talking about the strange anomalies surrounding Comet 3I/ATLAS. Researchers have noted unusual behavior, odd trajectories, and now we have the latest curveball.

Today, Loeb published a new analysis after reviewing the latest post-perihelion images released by NASA. And according to him…

    There’s no comet tail.

That’s right. This object doesn’t appear to be producing the tail you’d expect at this stage. Which is, naturally, a little strange — considering that comets are known for having tails, especially when they get this close to the Sun. The whole thing raises more questions than answers.

You can read Loeb’s full write-up here:

    https://avi-loeb.medium.com/no-clear-cometary-tail-in-post-perihelion-images-of-3i-atlas-e3904b352a7a

So where does that leave us?

Right now, it leaves us waiting.
The comet (or object, or whatever label we want to cautiously use) makes its closest approach in December, which means we have plenty of time for more data, more analysis… and probably more conversation from Avi Loeb. He never shies away from wondering aloud when something looks out of place in the cosmos.

And honestly? We’re here for it.

    Are we saying it’s aliens?
    No.
Are we saying people who are saying it’s aliens are automatically wrong?
    Also no.

    Let’s just say this:
    The universe is strange.
Sometimes stranger than we’re prepared for.

    So we’ll watch.
    We’ll wait.
And we’ll see what this thing in the sky decides to show us next.

December is going to be interesting.

  • Keeping the Halloween SPIRIT a little longer

Keeping the Halloween SPIRIT a little longer

Halloween is over. The Spirit Halloween stores are packing up, lights going off, signs disappearing, and those empty retail shells will sit silent again… at least until next August when they reawaken like they always do.

But — you might notice something different this year. A few of those locations aren’t going dark. They’re turning into Spirit Christmas.
And honestly? That’s kind of amazing.

We’re completely on board with Spirit Halloween existing. It has become a tradition. A yearly pilgrimage. A seasonal personality trait. And if Spirit Christmas wants to step into the game and bring some of that same energy into December, we welcome it. Why not? Let weirdness continue all year long.

However — when outlets like Gizmodo start writing about it, it does start to feel like a little product-placement whisper campaign. Their article highlights that Spirit Christmas will be selling an exclusive Art the Clown “Terrifier” Christmas sweater. Yes… Art the Clown. For Christmas.

We love horror. We love creepy. We love a little darkness mixed into the tinsel and eggnog. But Art the Clown is… let’s just say… a strong choice for holiday cheer. There are plenty of horror icons that blend nicely with Christmas themes — Krampus, Black Christmas, Gremlins, Jack Skellington — but a child-murdering clown who blows up shopping malls might be a bit of a leap for the family fireplace mantel.
But hey — to each their own. If you want to deck the halls with decapitation, no one is stopping you.

The reality is that Spirit Christmas will not be nearly as widespread as Spirit Halloween — at least not yet. It’s more of a test run. Only select stores. Only certain markets. But if people show up, if the ugly sweaters sell, if the creepy ornaments fly off shelves… expect this to grow.

And honestly, we’ve always had a soft spot for keeping a little creepy in Christmas. There’s something fun about breaking the overly-sanitized Hallmark version of the holiday and letting the weird spirits in.

    So we say:

    The more the merrier.
    Deck the halls.
    Light your balls.
Wear your Terrifier sweater if you dare.
Let Christmas get a little strange.

    ‘Tis the season. 🎄🩸

  • CAN WE JUST STOP COMPARING SHOWS TO EACH OTHER AND ENJOY THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE?

CAN WE JUST STOP COMPARING SHOWS TO EACH OTHER AND ENJOY THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE?

Collider just ran an article about Welcome to Derry, which has been on HBO for several days now. According to their write-up, they’re leaning into the idea that this series has a Stranger Things feel — the whole “group of kids vs. a mysterious, looming evil” angle. And sure, on the surface, that does exist here. But Collider also admits the show is darker, creepier, and more adult — and we agree with that part completely.

We’ve been watching, and this is absolutely not just a sci-fi nostalgia trip. It’s heavier. More sinister. It leans way harder into horror than Stranger Things ever did.

It’s set in 1962 and follows the twisted early events that open the door to the version of Derry, Maine, we all know… the one haunted by Pennywise the Dancing Clown. And yes — Bill Skarsgård is back, fully locked in, bringing the same chilling energy that made the movies so memorable.

Collider points out that the show goes further into horror than Stranger Things does, and they’re right.

But what we don’t love is when headlines try to frame it as though the two are the same thing. Just because a story has kids in danger doesn’t automatically make it Stranger Things. If anything, you can argue the influence goes the other direction — It existed long before Hawkins, Indiana, bikes, walkie-talkies, and The Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers have openly borrowed (lovingly) from 1980s pop culture, which itself was shaped by King. So the lineage is clear.

It sometimes feels like we can’t just enjoy entertainment anymore without everything being compared, ranked, and stacked in lists.

Why can’t a show be allowed to stand on its own without being “the next” anything?

    So here’s where we land:
    We appreciate Stranger Things.
    We appreciate Welcome to Derry.
They are both completely different experiences — and that’s the point.

We’ll enjoy Welcome to Derry now.
And when Stranger Things arrives in a few weeks, we’ll enjoy that too.

But let’s be honest — the reason a lot of us are here is Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise. He was phenomenal in the films, and he’s already proving he’s going to bring something equally unsettling, memorable, and terrifying to this series.

Just let good storytelling be good storytelling.
    No comparisons needed.

  • Tom Brady and his inflated clones

Tom Brady and his inflated clones

Tom Brady and his ex-wife shared a dog named Lua. The dog passed away back in December 2023, and we all know the heartache that comes when, quite frankly, a member of the family dies. But what many of us don’t have that Tom Brady does is the financial ability to do something extraordinary — and in this case, controversial. He was able to use, most likely, tens of thousands of dollars to, well… bring his dog back.

Brady shared the news on Tuesday, Nov. 4, alongside an announcement from Colossal Biosciences, a biotech company he’s invested in — and the same company that cloned his beloved Lua.

The reaction has been mixed. On one hand, many of us have wished we could bring back a pet we loved deeply. On the other hand, most of us grieve and move on because that’s life. Tom Brady, ever the headline magnet, decided to cross that line. And that brings up ethical questions. Moral questions. Scientific what-ifs. And honestly… it also has a bit of a creepy undertone to it.

Now, this isn’t Pet Sematary, and Lua didn’t claw her way back to the land of the living. This was done through modern science and technology. But still — there’s something here that feels uncanny. Like humanity stepping into a space we’re not fully prepared for yet.

And listen Maybe we’re just old school here, but it just feels kind of icky…?

There’s been a massive UPS plane crash in Louisville Kentucky

There’s a developing situation tonight in Louisville where a plane believed to belong to UPS has reportedly crashed. Early reports indicate that multiple buildings and surrounding infrastructure may have been impacted. Images and videos circulating on social media show large explosions and heavy smoke rising from the area.

At this time, details are limited. We don’t yet know the cause of the crash, the extent of the damage, or whether there are any injuries or casualties. Emergency crews are on the scene, and more information is expected as officials release statements.

  • Did you hear about the tainted candy in Maryland for halloween? As you could imagine it turned out to be a hoax

Did you hear about the tainted candy in Maryland for halloween? As you could imagine it turned out to be a hoax

    Well, here we go again.
Another year, another urban legend. Another Halloween, another hoax.

If you’ve been reading this site for a while, you know we’ve talked about this for years. The idea that someone, somewhere, is lurking in the shadows with a razor blade, a needle, or a vial of poison just waiting to sabotage Halloween candy has been one of the biggest folk panics in America since the 1950s.

And yes—there are two real historical incidents people always point to a dentist in the 1950s really did tamper with candy and was caught. And then there was that infamous case of a father who murdered his own child by poisoning candy on Halloween. That tragedy didn’t just spark panic—it cemented it.

But here’s the important part: Outside of those isolated, personal crimes, the idea of random strangers poisoning or rigging candy for mass harm has never been supported by evidence. Yet every October, news headlines warn parents to “check your candy,” police departments post caution notices, and viral Facebook posts spread like wildfire.

    This year was no different.

In Maryland, police shared an image of a razor blade and warned families to inspect their candy. Panic flickered across social media like clockwork. But then—also like clockwork—just days later came the follow-up:

    It was a hoax.

A 9-year-old admitted to placing sewing needles into their own candy.
    No shadowy candy saboteur.
    No Halloween horror villain.
Just a kid doing what kids sometimes do—testing boundaries, trying to create a moment, maybe wanting attention, maybe just not understanding the consequences.

    And the cycle continues.

This is arguably the longest-running American urban legend. It has outlived generations, presidents, and every other seasonal news scare. It’s a story we want to believe, because Halloween already sits on that uneasy line between childhood innocence and the spooky unknown.

But here we are, one more year in, one more scare disproven.

So once again, we can officially say:

    Your candy is safe.
(Well… safe from strangers. Not safe from someone in your house raiding the stash.)

And I can confirm that personally, because I’ve been secretly eating my son’s Halloween candy since Halloween night.

    Don’t tell him.

  • Dick Cheney dead at 84

    Dick Cheney dead at 84

Love him, hate him, mock him, celebrate him… whichever side of that spectrum you sat on, there’s no denying that Dick Cheney was one of the most influential public figures of our lifetime. He was there at pivotal moments that shaped the world we all grew up in—serving in the halls of power during the first Gulf War, the second Gulf War, and standing in the center of the storm on September 11, 2001.

He was a vice president whose role often felt more like co-president. A strategist. A lightning rod. A figure who could fill an entire history book on his own, and still leave chapters unwritten.

Some saw him as a protector of American strength. Others saw him as the architect of forever conflicts and power without apology. He was praised, he was despised, and he was endlessly parodied. But he was always relevant. In history, to be remembered is to be significant. Cheney was that.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney died late Monday. He was 84.

“His beloved wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed,” his family said in a statement.

Whatever comes next—whatever exists beyond here—he now meets it. And history, as always, will continue debating him, studying him, and trying to understand the era he helped shape.

He now meets his fate as is Earthly existence fails to continue..
