3I/Atlas’ quiet passing: Maybe the aliens just need gas from Jupiter after all

    So… is everyone good?

December 19 was the newest conspiracy day.. the big one. HUGE changes, we were told.. stay indoors and hide! The Comet is passing by! The world will be hit! Aliens will land!

Just a few days ago we were told by the media that Comet ATLAS was going to pass closer to Earth than ever before. And when you hear that, you’re led to believe that “close” means visible. Like it’s in our neighborhood. Our backyard. Something you’ll look up and actually see.

    But no. Not really.

“Closest” here doesn’t mean close in any practical sense. It means close in science and space terms. The closest point of its trajectory relative to us, not close enough to matter in the way people immediately imagine. We’re talking really far away.

    So we’re good, right?

Aliens didn’t land. Although, of course, some of the seers and psychics among us are claiming a path has shifted, a cycle has changed, or that we’ve entered some new phase of existence. Maybe we did. Still feels the same to me. I don’t know about you, but there’s not much difference between yesterday and today.
That said, there is still a mystery here.

The more sensational idea is that this comet—or whatever it actually is, because we don’t truly know—was detected emitting a strange radio signal. That discovery reportedly happened back in October, when a radio telescope in South Africa picked up something unusual. Now that is where things get interesting, because comets don’t typically behave that way.

The object is expected to pass about 33.3 million miles from Jupiter on March 16, 2026. After that, it should be on its merry way out of our solar system. We think.

Unless, of course, the aliens onboard are more interested in a gas giant than us. Maybe they just need more fuel.
It’s funny, though. We really do have a tendency to make everything about ourselves, don’t we?

19-year-old killed in fall from vacant building used in ‘Stranger Things’

19-year-old woman named Leah Palmirotto died after falling from the roof of an old, abandoned building in Atlanta, Georgia..

She was with friends exploring the building at night (around 1 a.m.). They climbed over a fence to enter, despite it being fenced off with “no trespassing” signs.

The building is on Emory University’s Briarcliff campus. Built in the 1960s as the Georgia Mental Health Institute (a psychiatric hospital), it closed years ago.

It is famous for being used as the exterior (and some interior) of Hawkins National Laboratory in the Netflix show Stranger Things
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating, but it appears to be an accident during urban exploring (visiting abandoned places).

  • Tiktok bait: The NASA van in the forest

Tiktok bait: The NASA van in the forest

If a NASA van is in the forest and it doesn’t make a sound.. does it exist? What about if someone finds it and they never make a sound again? (though that part may not be true despite what people are claiming.)

    Ok.. here we go.

A potential “Tiktok bait” is occurring in real time, but we will bite since it is at least more interesting than a Jake Paul boxing match.

A TikTok user Whispero.0 seemingly stumbled onto an abandoned NASA marked van in the middle of the woods.

It was nowhere near a facility or a road… the inside there seems to be old, equipment with labels and tags still mounted.

The video got hundreds of thousands of views as people start freezing frames. Then the account stopped posting for a bit and everyone got really confused..

While there is no real big update about the van, the user has been posting. Don’t believe the hype that Whispero.0 has vanished. The accout is active..

The conspiracy theories abound! But the video looks like real footage from an urban explorer at the abandoned Aerojet rocket facility in Florida’s Everglades, a 1960s site tied to NASA contract bids. It’s not AI-generated..

This is a fun one. So game, movie, or just online attention? Either way it is a great Scooby mystery.. just in a NASA fan.

Perhaps the hidden secret in the van is that it contained the technology that we ‘lost’ after the 1969 moon landing?

But the only real mystery is how no one saw the van when there is a building and clearly other cars behind it..

  • Epstein and the smiling man

    Epstein and the smiling man

This particular image released in the Epstein files seems unsettling as it showcases him in the middle of girls with redacted faces.. but one face in the upper corner is not redacted.

It is the mascot for Coney Island.. but in this instance it looks so much creepier..

There are a lot of folks online who claim that Epstein’s ties go deeper than worldly–paranormal, Mossad, Project Stargate.. A bunch of conspiracies all held together by online theories and a constant flow of documents being perused by sleuths online..

The Steeplechase Face, Funny Face, or Tillie, were all names for what was the mascot of the historic Steeplechase Park, the first of three amusement parks in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York. It remains a nostalgic symbol of Coney Island and of amusement areas influenced by it.. It features a man with a wide, exaggerated smile which sometimes bears as many as 44 visible teeth. The image was meant to convey simple fun, but was also observed by cultural critics to have an undercurrent of Victorian-era repressed sexuality

The face’s most prominent appearance in Coney Island was in glass on the exterior of Steeplechase’s Pavilion of Fun, created when the park was rebuilt in 1909. In 1966, real estate developer Fred Trump destroyed the park in an unsuccessful attempt to create condos on the site. During the demolition, Trump handed out bricks to the public, encouraging visitors to throw them at the glass Steeplechase Face..

But the smiling man picture in this photo seems to linger.. The constant grim, either nefarious reveling in the crimes of Epstein or secretly smiling because he knows the truth will come out eventually.

The truth did–to a degree… redactions galore persist. But truth keeps dripping like a pinhole leak in a pipe.

  • We really don’t think that the Duffer Brothers based Mr Whatsit about a 1962 incident despite everyone saying they did

We really don’t think that the Duffer Brothers based Mr Whatsit about a 1962 incident despite everyone saying they did

So everyone has been talking lately about Stranger Things Season 5 and the idea that Mr. What’s It is based on a true story from 1962, a supposed incident where a group of children all saw and drew the same mysterious man wearing a hat.

Here’s the scoop. There probably is no true story from 1962.

What seems to be happening is that the same urban legend keeps getting repeated over and over across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with no facts to back it up. There is no documented mass sighting of a Hat Man in 1962. There is no verified location. There is no teacher testimony. There are no archived newspaper articles. And there is no evidence anywhere that the Duffer Brothers ever said Henry’s Mr. What’s It character was based on an incident like this.

In fact, if anything, the character feels closer to something like A Wrinkle in Time than it does to a real world event. That doesn’t mean there isn’t something familiar about him, though. Because while the 1962 story appears to be made up, the Hat Man himself is not new.

The Hat Man has existed in human stories for a very long time, just under different names. In past cultures, shadow figures wearing cloaks or wide brimmed hats show up in folklore tied to night terrors, death omens, or spiritual visitations. Medieval Europe had depictions of dark watchers who stood at the edge of the bed. Victorian ghost stories often described tall men in hats appearing in doorways or hallways. Even older traditions talk about night spirits or watchers who observe silently rather than interact.

What’s interesting is how consistent the imagery is across time. A tall figure. A long coat or cloak. A hat. No clear facial features. No speech. Just presence.

In modern times, most Hat Man encounters are tied to sleep paralysis or intense fever dreams. People who experience it often describe being awake but unable to move, with a crushing sense of dread. And there he is, standing in the corner of the room, in the doorway, or at the foot of the bed… watching.

That idea was explored directly in the 2015 documentary The Nightmare, which focuses entirely on sleep paralysis experiences. The film features multiple people who had never met each other, all describing nearly identical encounters. In that documentary, the Hat Man is essentially the final boss of sleep paralysis. He doesn’t scream. He doesn’t chase. He just looms, silent and terrifying, while the person trapped in that half awake state cannot escape.

So while it may not be true that the creators of Stranger Things based Mr. What’s It on a specific mass sighting from 1962, it is very possible that the Hat Man mythology itself influenced what they created. The idea of a shadow figure that exists between worlds, between sleep and wakefulness, between childhood fear and cosmic horror, fits perfectly into that universe.

But here’s where we have to pump the brakes.

There is no real story that connects a 1962 Hat Man incident to the show. The posts making these claims all recycle the same language. They use AI generated images. They never give an exact location. They never cite a real source. And they never link to an actual quote from the Duffer Brothers.

If anyone out there can find a legitimate source, a real interview, a verified quote, or documented evidence that such an incident occurred and that it inspired the character, send it our way. We will research it. We will correct ourselves. We will say we were wrong.

But until then, this is an urban legend built on top of another urban legend.

We’ve been studying paranormal history for decades. We know about mass UFO sightings. We know about documented cases of mass hysteria in schools in Africa. But when it comes to the Hat Man and California in 1962, there is nothing. Not a single credible mention.

So for now, we’re sticking with this. The Duffer Brothers did not base Mr. What’s It on a 1962 incident because there is no evidence that incident ever happened.

And if the Duffer Brothers ever want to reach out and say otherwise, we’d absolutely love to talk.

  • Death of television! YouTube takes the Oscars

Death of television! YouTube takes the Oscars

Are you excited about the Oscars on YouTube starting in 2029?
Oh, you didn’t know? That might be because no one has really been excited about the Oscars for many years now.

And yet, entertainment rags across the world are insisting that the decision to move the Oscars from ABC to YouTube will send shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Maybe the Netflix deals have already done more damage than this ever could, but the fact remains that a streaming platform will now be the exclusive home of the Academy Awards. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, this feels like another official nail in the coffin of traditional television.

Everything tends to come full circle. Maybe in a hundred years we will all be back to basic cable again, proudly announcing that the Oscars are airing on Channel 13 once more. But for now, the future is here. Beginning in 2029 and running through 2033, YouTube has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast not only the ceremony itself but everything that comes with it. What that ultimately looks like remains to be seen.

The truth is, the excitement surrounding the Academy Awards that existed in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s has steadily faded over the last quarter century. Most of the time, people have not even seen the movies nominated for the golden statue, let alone felt connected to them. The films being celebrated often feel foreign to the general audience, while the movies people actually watch are rarely acknowledged. And horror? Forget it. That genre has never really been invited to the party.

As part of the newly inked deal, YouTube will broadcast not only the Oscars ceremony itself, which generated roughly 150 million dollars in revenue for the Academy during the fiscal year that ended June 30, largely through the television rights deal with Disney, but also a significant amount of related programming.

That additional content will include the red carpet preshow and behind the scenes coverage, the Oscar nominations announcement, the Governors Awards where honorary Oscars are presented, the Oscars Nominees Luncheon, the Student Academy Awards, the Scientific and Technical Awards, and interviews with Academy members and filmmakers. Film education programs, podcasts, and other supplemental content will also live on the platform.

Whether this move reinvigorates the Oscars or simply confirms what many already believe is another question entirely. What is clear is that the way we experience Hollywood’s biggest night has permanently changed.

  • We finally know what disclosure day might look like

We finally know what disclosure day might look like

There’s been so much of a veil of secrecy surrounding this new Steven Spielberg movie that even now, with the trailer finally revealed, it still feels like we’re not getting the full story of what this film is really about. That said, we definitely know more than we did before.

And apparently, this is officially a summer event movie.

The film is titled Disclosure Day, and it stars Emily Blunt as a Kansas City TV meteorologist. She’s joined by Josh O’Connor, who plays a passionate UFO whistleblower.

    Here’s the official description:

“An uncanny exploration of an alien invasion as initially experienced by a meteorologist (Emily Blunt) and a passionate UFO whistleblower (Josh O’Connor) who want to share the truth with the world all at once.”

The movie hits theaters on June 12, 2026.

The trailer is genuinely cool—we’ll link it below—and after watching it, I think it’s fair to say this could end up being the most hyped movie of 2026. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be the best movie of the year…
—or, on the other hand, it could turn out to be one of the best films Steven Spielberg has ever spearheaded.

Either way, I can’t wait to see more. Because based on what we’ve seen so far, this looks really promising.

  • Reiner horror happened after Conan O’Brien Christmas party

Reiner horror happened after Conan O’Brien Christmas party

We tried to soften our shock but just can’t..

The murder of Rob Reiner and his wife this time of year  or anytime, quite frankly is very, very upsetting and unfortunate. But what makes it even extra strange and bizarre is the circumstances surrounding it, and how fast it all unfolded.

Because we’re used to the long goodbye when someone in Hollywood is sick. The updates. The “fighting for their life” talk. The gradual acceptance. This wasn’t that. This was one of those moments where a person who’s been part of our cultural wallpaper for decades is suddenly just… gone. Just like that.

And now there’s this surreal detail layered on top of it: the reporting that, hours before the killings, there was a tense incident involving Rob Reiner and his son Nick at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party. That’s the part that feels like a movie — except it isn’t. According to reporting, Nick’s behavior at the party unsettled people, and there was an argument involving the family.

Then the next thing you know, Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, are found dead at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles and police arrest their son, Nick Reiner, in connection with it. Multiple outlets report he was taken into custody and booked on murder charges / arrested on suspicion as the investigation continues.

And yes, this is the part that has to be said, because it’s impossible to ignore: this wasn’t a peaceful passing. It’s being described as a brutally violent, horrifying crime. The kind of thing you don’t associate with a household name you grew up with.

The reporting also points to a longer, darker backstory .. addiction issues, instability, a family that was scared, a situation that didn’t just “start” that night. That doesn’t explain what happened, and it doesn’t make it easier to read… but it does make it even more tragic.

You know it’s weird and this is going to sound trite,  but the idea that we could all live with Rob Reiner in our lives in some form is true. Some people remember him from All in the Family. Others know him from the movies and the moments that shaped whole eras: Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, A Few Good Men, a career that touched way more people than he ever met.

And now that life gets extinguished in Brentwood, California, in a way nobody saw coming .. and you’re left with that same feeling every time something like this happens: how can a famous life feel so permanent… until it suddenly isn’t?

Life takes strange turns when you least expect them .. health incidents, car accidents, traumatizing events. Sometimes good too like a loytrry win!

But this one? This one is surreal. And even Conan O’Brien’s name, and everyone at that party, gets indirectly touched by something horrific they never signed up for, simply because they were in the orbit of it.

Hollywood shock after brutal murder of Rob Reiner

Nick Reiner has been taken into custody on a murder charge following the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

Rob and Michele were killed in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, Dec. 14. Sources previously told PEOPLE they were found by their daughter Romy.

According to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records, Nick was taken into custody and is being held on $4 million bail. At an unrelated press conference Monday morning, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said Nick had been booked on a murder charge.
