  • CLOSER TO ‘MIDNIGHT’ WITH ART BELL

CLOSER TO ‘MIDNIGHT’ WITH ART BELL

    It’s just about here..
Art Bell’s high jump back into the thick of paranormal radio, both terrestrial and non, is about ready to occur.

On July 20, 2015, Bell returns to the DARK MATTER RADIO NETWORK with his program MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT.  There are a number of guests from past programs who undoubtedly will make a return to the new show. Already being announced: Linda  Moulton Howe will join Bell to discuss the video of what appears to be UFOs leaving the planet earth before NASA quickly cut off the video feed…

The show is giving users the chance to sign up for a $5 a month charge to hear past programs. You can do so here: http://darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/shows/midnight-in-the-desert/

The actual show will be free while it’s live, and there will also be a number of chances across America to hear Bell on terrestrial radio stations. The ‘time traveler’ option gives people a shot of downloading the podcast of the show afterwards–after Richard C. Hoagland of course performs his best on THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT, airing directly after Bell on the DARK MATTER network..

The pay plan offers the following:

LIVE: Now of course you can listen to Art Bell for FREE during the LIVE broadcast of the show, at 9pm Pacific / Midnight Eastern. However….

Archives: You can join the Time Travelers and travel back to listen to Art’s archived shows the next morning or on the weekend. You can stream them right from the membership area, or download them into your podcast player.

Wormhole: You can also travel forward and send messages through the Wormhole into the future directly to Art during the LIVE show. For only $5 a month. Right now you can sign up early and you won’t pay again until 30 days after the start of the show.

This show promises to be different in a number of ways from the 2013 brief stint on SIRIUS XM.  This seems to be the method Bell perhaps should have chosen instead of the highly expensive Sirius delivery method–one that ended up being directly opposed to what Bell wanted to do, offer a FREE live stream of the program on his site. This go around, Bell and Keith Rowland have seemingly come up with a ground-level-built product for consumption, featuring the Best of Art Bell’s music choices and some old friends and most likely new faces. Bell has publicly said this time he wants to have fun. Who can blame a man at 70, just wanting to do radio as he loves?

There are also some major chances that Bell could swipe back some of the fans who have become disillusioned by Coast to Coast AM.. And also gain a new host? It goes without saying that rumors are abounding that Noory could lose one last relic of the Art Bell days. More on that when–and if–it develops..

In the mean time, for the Bell fans of the past and those who have become new ones, July is a new day for radio. Online. And offline.
Turn down your radio, or your Skype, and be a time traveler who travels. Night owl sanity depends on it..

    AMERICA THE PARANOID

Welcome to your July 4, 2015.. fear, dreadful fear, has enveloped the entire nation. From sea to horrible sea, we are living in a state of anxiety.. abundant horror..

That previous paragraph was written in complete sarcasm.

So turn off the news for the 4th and live some life and get back your heart and soul.

There is only fear if you’re fearful..

This is how REUTERS surmised the spirit of America this Independence Day:

Millions of Americans readied on Saturday for Independence Day parades and firework shows amid worries over possible security threats, a spike in shark attacks on East Coast beaches and the danger of wildfires in the West.

    Wow that’s scary.

    more:

Hundreds of thousands of people were expected to flood the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for a parade, concerts, and a fireworks display that uses 6,500 shells. The National Park Service is installing 3.4 miles (5.47 km) of chain link fencing, 14,000 feet (4,270 meters) of bike racks and almost 350 portable toilets to cope with the crowds.

Something tells me that is NOT going to be enough portable toilets.
So there you go.. something else to be fearful about.

  • FOURTH OF JULY 20154

    FOURTH OF JULY 20154

Every year I present my favorite piece of nostalgia from pop culture.. The Fourth of July finale of the WONDER YEARS..

The show captured what Americana still exists in me–the idea that the past is in your little home town but the future so often leaves it.. The meaning of it, and the words spoken during this scene, become more haunting and true with each passing year.

Take this snapshot of Americana in 2015: Lots of Americans things that the country is actually two thousand and fifteen years old. Which is not true, despite yearly stories of Americans who behold such truths to be evident..

Instead we are 239 years of age.

    But aging.

Look deeper to the economic plight of the nation, the decaying infrastructure, and the loosening traditions. There is a lot of work to do. There are positive pieces to give pride.. and others to remove hope.

    It’s been worse before though.
    We made it.
    And can again.

The bombs bursting in air, gave proof to the night, that our flag was still there..

    Mark Dice strikes again.

What is worse: People thinking America is 2,015 years old? Or people celebrating without having a clue as to the country we declared independence from (Except tourists in America, who have  much more knowledge than Americans) ?

…but the numbers seem to be the same as they were prior to 2001 (before 9/11 and the patriotic wave of war took hold) .. So are we just going back to normal again?
