100s of space rocks are always soaring snd flying by.. But this ‘second only to Chelyabinsk’ Atlantic strike is alarming..
The largest meteor since the one that exploded over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in 2013 burned up over the open ocean some 1,000 kilometers from the Brazilian coast on February 6, NASA reports.
An extraterrestrial body allegedly the size of a large living room, about 5 to 7 meters across, released energy equivalent to 13,000 tons of TNT, which is 40 times less than the Chelyabinsk phenomenon.The object entered the atmosphere before exploding at approximately 30km above the Atlantic. It couldn`t be observed from the ground as it fell too far away from any populated area unlike the Chelyabinsk meteor, which hit the city with over 1 million dwellers, damaging nearly 3,000 building and causing multiple injuries.
And let’s not forget the March 5 flyby..

NASA is inviting the public to send art to an asteroid on its new spacecraft: the Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer, or OSIRIS-REx for short. The probe will be the first to collect a sample of asteroid and bring it back to Earth.
I have a few ideas for artwork.. Maybe I’ll pen up a daily doodle and send it NASA’s way, perhaps I’ll share it on here..

Astronomer behind the ‘alien megastructure’ discovery can’t rule out aliens:

At this year’s TED conference in Vancouver, Tabetha Boyajian, the astronomer who oversees Planet Hunters and was the lead author on a paper investigating the star’s light patterns (aptly called “Where’s the Flux,” or WTF) said she still can’t rule out aliens — though even she admits it would be highly unlikely.
“At this point, we haven’t been able to rule out aliens, and haven’t been able to confirm natural theories either,” she said in her talk.
Unlikely that it’s aliens.. But likely that it’s something we never saw or knew before..
Amazing but times we live in. And amazing something from 1,500 years ago..

THE WITCH has an endorsement that, until today, I was not aware of: The Satantic Temple loved it. The studio A24 sent it to the group, saying it may be a film they liked. They did.. and took it from there.. IndieWire reported back on February 3 2016:
The Satanic Temple has just given the movie an official sanction, declaring it as a “transformative Satanic experience.” In celebration, the group will be launching premiere screenings of “The Witch” beginning in New York City on February 10 that will include interactive performances and ritualized pronouncements of a “new Satanic era.” Screenings will follow in Los Angeles (February 12), Austin (February 16) and Detroit (to be determined).
In an official statement made by The Satanic Temple, the group says it “is confident [the film] will signal the call-to-arms for a Satanic uprising against the tyrannical vestiges of bigoted superstitions, and will harken a new era of liberation and unfettered inquiry.”
VOX noticed something culturally may have shifted. And I cannot disagree..
Just think about this: If the Satanic Temple would have endorsed a horror movie about ten or twelve years ago, the toilet would have had a new clog.
The Bush/Cheney campaign used culture wedge issues to defeat Kerry in close states..
Remember they were going to prevent gay marriage? …That culture war.
And just picture if this would have happened during the Satanic Panics of the 1980s!
Things certainly have changed.
Not only culture but also marketing. The free marketing..
The studio sends a free copy of a movie to a temple …. and suddenly the endorsement of the film becomes a feather in the cap and it, quite frankly, it was all done the cheapest way they could have done it.

Well, when viewed through the lens of the Satanic Temple, spokesperson Jex Blackmore told me, it’s a film about what happens when you realize the Christian patriarchy has some serious problems. (Without spoiling the plot, the movie is mostly told from the point of view of a teenage girl whose family slowly begins to suspect she might be a witch. Things go poorly.)
“The film itself shows the results of a patriarchal theocratic society in the microcosm of the family,” Blackmore told me.
Blackmore especially appreciated the way the film plays up the inherent, feminist tension in the very idea of a witch. “There is an interest in controlling a female figure and in dictating to her what her role is in a society that benefits males,” she told me. And a witch, even in Colonial folk tales that demonized such a figure, stands outside of that.
There may be one last culture war that, at least this weekend, will have a victor: The Satanist endorsed WITCH vs the Christian approved RISEN in box offices.
And the early winner is…………..
Without all studio dollars in, estimates showcase that NEITHER MOVIE REALLY MATTERS. DEADPOOL crossed $200 million. RISEN is third. The WITCH is burning at fourth with the KUNG FU PANDA at 2nd beating them both.
The culture wars matter so little no one wants to even see either movie.
Get this: Astronauts heard music on the far side of the moon during a mission in 1969 .. they were shocked, surprised, confused.. and they did not know if they should ever even have said anything.

The taped recordings contained “strange, otherworldly music coming through the Apollo module’s radio,” according to the upcoming Science Channel series, “NASA’s Unexplained Files.”
The unexplained “music” transmission lasted almost an hour, and just before the astronauts regained radio contact with Earth, they discussed whether or not to tell Mission Control what they had experienced
This text showcasing what the astronauts were actually saying as they pondered the source of the music and whether or not to tell Mission Control:
“It sounds like, you know, outer space-type music.”
“You hear that? That whistling sound? Whooooooooo!”
“Well, that sure is weird music!”
“It’s unbelievable! You know?”
“Shall we tell them about it?”
“I don’t know. We ought to think about it.”
There very well could be a scientific meaning to this.. A reason for the sounds.. perhaps even a distant playing of Pink Floyd from some aliens that … wait.. they didn’t write that album yet in 1969. Well.. then.. time travel! that’s it! Time travel…
Look, none of us really know what this source could have been.. what the music may have meant .. perhaps gravity? Something..
I know this: It’s amazing and thought provoking. And I love to have thoughts provoked..
And I can only imagine.. wait I actually cannot imagine.. what it would have been like to hear faint and distant sounds on the ………..dark side of the moon.
