    More STRANGER THINGS 3 reveals

    Call 1985 the summer of love … the cast will be 15.. malls are booming. Ollie North is selling farms for hostages .. and demagorgans are about to run wild again in Sheriff Hopper’s town..

    Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) talked to US Weekly about when exactly the next season will be set. “I don’t know much about it because we get the scripts as we go along,” he said at the premiere of his new film Dog Days. “But yeah, it’s set in 1985, in the summer. It’s the summer of love — that’s all I can say, really.” 

    Initial rumors had the third season playing the Fourth of July angle … which could truly bring in lots of amazing political feel for the show, keeping the angle of government officials doing wrong in a small town..

     


    We will also meet Bruce, a sleazy-sounding journalist played by Jake Busey, son of Gary. “If you think about the way culture has changed, life was a lot different in the ‘80s,” he told Bloody Disgusting. “This is a character who is fully living in that time period. He doesn’t mind making fun of women and children. He doesn’t mind poking fun at someone else’s expense, that type of thing. He’s just a crass newsman.”

    The most recent reveal came with a humorous fake mall commercial with Steve Harrington serving ice cream.. but the fun may stop at that point..

     Shawn Levy warns viewers not to expect this new season to be a fun series. He said it aims to deliver the most horrifying sequences the series has seen yet.

    “That would be part of the store. but not at all representative of the season,” Levy shared with The Playlist. “There’s no question that, as you saw in that infomercial, Starcourt Mall is a part of Season Three. As is summertime. So Season Three has a really healthy dose of poppy, bright levity and cultural fun. But I can only promise you that Season Three eventually goes places that are darker, and unquestionably more action-packed,than we’ve ever gone before.”

    Anazing musician Lady Gaga proved herself to be a formible actress during her role in AMERICAN HORROR STORY…

    But the rumor mill today churns with this: Scooper @DanielRPK says that Lady Gaga was offered the role of Huntress or Black Canary in Birds of Prey three months ago, but turned it down.



    That’s too bad. We think she would have been excellent. And if the rumor is not true, movie makers should actually ask her..

    The main female cast members in Birds of Prey will be Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain, and detective Renee Montoya. Black Mask will be the villain.

    The man suspected of starting one of the massive wild fires raging in California was to appear in court on Friday and could face life in prison if eventually convicted of arson and other charges.

    Forrest Gordon Clark, 51, stands accused of starting the Holy fire, which in four days has burned more than 18,000 acres (7,300 hectares) of Cleveland National Forest 60 miles (100 kilometers) north of San Diego.

    I recall this show.. I was just a kid, and I remember distinctly sneaking out of my bedroom to listen to the radio as my father listened to it in the kitchen of the house.. It perked me ears up and created a fascination from that point on with Art Bell…

    Speaking of that latest quip between ROWLAND and WADE: Earlier this week Rowland made a public comment lambasting a radio broadcaster playing reruns of MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT.. He said that Heather Wade will never come back. In the mean time a very public debate plays out on Wade’s Facebook page..
    I will always be humbled knowing that Art Bell himself copied and pasted the HORROR REPORT onto his Facebook feed only days before his death.. I am humbled to know he read my site and appreciated it.. And we, all of his fans, miss him greatly..
    At least we have Somewhere in Time……

    NYE COUNTY CORONER FINALLY RELEASES REPORT ON HOW ART BELL DIED

    An autopsy found the 72-year-old Bell’s death April 13 at home in rural Pahrump was from “multiple drug intoxication from his own lawfully prescribed prescriptions,” Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly’s office said in a brief Facebook announcement . It called the death an accidental overdose…

    Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg, whose office in Las Vegas handled the medical examination, said Bell had the painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone, the sedative diazepam and the muscle-relaxant carisoprodol in his system.

    High blood pressure and the lung disease chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder were additional “significant conditions” in Bell’s death, Fudenberg said .. The coroner said there was no indication of foul play..

    Dead on Friday the 13th. And missed forever since, and well beyond these years.

    74-year-old Thomas Markle told London’s Daily Mail on Sunday that his 36-year-old daughter has removed him from her life entirely as punishment for staging fake paparazzi pictures before the royal wedding and speaking critically of the royal family…

    “I’m really hurt that she’s cut me off completely,” he told the Daily Mail during a nine-hour interview over three days. “I have no way of contacting my daughter.”

    He said he hasn’t spoken to the Duchess of Sussex in 10 weeks.

    Markle claims that the phone number for her personal aides at the palace have been disconnected.

    It’s official: STRANGER THINGS 3 to hit summer 2019

    Stranger Things eight-episode third season will be released  Summer 2019. This is a little later than some had hoped or expected..

    Explaining the reason for the delay, Netflix’s VP or original content, Cindy Holland, told reporters Sunday at the Television Critics Assococation summer press tour, “It’s a handcrafted show. [Exec producers] The Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard, and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right.”

    Earlier this month the show released its first official trailer.. it features Hawkins’ mall grand opening. It featured Steve at the AHOY ice cream location.. it features nostalgia galore. And it makes me hope that the battle takes place within the shopping mall. What an homage to the 80s it would be! And what a great location now that the kids, in their 80s way, are growing up and hanging out at the best place that existed at that time: The brick and mortar of the famed shopping mall.

    Pro wrestling Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff has died at the age of 70.. His villainous Soviet ring persona made him a heel Cold War-era crowds loved to hate..

    World Wrestling Entertainment released the news on Sunday.

    Volkoff — born Josip Nikolai Peruzović in the former Yugoslavia — rose to prominence in the ring during the 1980s, relentlessly taunting American audiences with his scarlet-and-gold outfits and Soviet flag-waving antics.
    He mattered greatly to our pop culture..

    Brian Christopher Lawler dead after trying to hang himself in jail

    Brian Christopher Lawler, who went by Grandmaster Sexay in the WWE and the son of wrestling legend Jerry Lawler, is not dead after trying to kill himself in jail Saturday night, TMZ Sports reported.

    According to various reports, the 46-year-old Brian Christopher attempted to hang himself in his cell outside Memphis. He was found by guards and rushed to a local hospital.

    Brian Christopher had been arrested in Tennessee earlier this month for DUI after allegedly leading cops on a chase. They tried to pull him over, but he continued driving. When he did stop, cops say, he smelled of alcohol.

    Lawler’s mother, Kay, tells TMZ Sports Brian passed away Sunday surrounded by family and friends after being placed on life support Saturday night following a suicide attempt in jail. 
    He was surrounded by his father, Jerry Lawler, his brother, Kevin, and other family.

    Paramount/Skydance’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout is opening to a franchise record of $61.5M (the same as we spotted yesterday), beating the previous series high from Mission: Impossible II ($57.8M) and 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation ($55.5M) !!

    Fallout also stands as Cruise’s second best opening at the B.O. after War of the Worlds’ 3-day of $64.8M…

    MOMMA MIA part 2 took second place.. but dropped 57% from last week. The movie appears to be a stinker above all others..
    And finally, a film I thought would do better,  TEEN TITANS, didn’t fair so well.
    The movie opened to only $10 mil at 5th place. It cost $10 mil to make. So at this point it broke even.. I suppose okay.
    We will see Tuesday when I take my seven-year-old son to see it. Will the NIGHT BEGIN TO SHINE or did it fade away with aging kids?
