While the HORROR REPORT is not a financial website, we do specialize in the weird and bizarre. Today some weird and bizarre happened on Wall Street that got noticed..
Not only did the DOW have one of the biggest falls in months, it also ended 666 points down after a day of trading.
666…
CNBC has the gory details if you want them.
Already some are pondering the consequences of the 666 drop.. the harbinger? The omen of more? … the fluke with the devil’s details?
Time will tell.

They were the days!
Do you recall who played in Superbowl 2004? … George W. Bush was the leader of the war-torn world.. we were still cleaning up wreckage from Ground Zero.. back then we thought Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and yellowcake….

And Janet Jackson, for better or worse, exposed her breast during the Superbowl HalfTime Show with Justin Timberlake.
….the world went wild.
….CBS promised an investigation.
….the FCC fined…
….the world was aghast.
Years later we ponder if THAT was the worst thing that could have happened.
Here is a screen grab of NEWS from the ‘day after tomorrow’ from the AP courtesy of the WAYBACK machine:
Perhaps my favorite part:
Even halftime producer and CBS corporate Viacom cousin MTV – the network that broadcast Madonna kissing Britney Spears at last August’s MTV Awards – was contrite.
“Unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional,” said MTV.
Although Timberlake issued a statement shortly after the show apologizing and blaming the debacle on a “wardrobe malfunction,” he didn’t seem too sorry in comments to the syndicated show “Access Hollywood.”
“Hey, man, we love giving you all something to talk about,” he said, laughing.
Jackson’s official Web site was bombarded with angry postings.
Ridiculous at best.
These were the worries of our times.
Simpler in nature. But somewhat still ancient in philosophy ..
Something things change.. some things don’t.
But I wonder today aloud, would a nipple provide as much danger today as it did then? …. Maybe we’ll find out this Sunday at the newest TIMBERLAKE Superbowl.

Dominic Patten, writing for DEADLINE, reveals early numbers for GRAMMY ratings. They aren’t pretty..
With a 12.7/21 in metered market ratings, the Recording Academy’s big hootenanny was also way down from the early numbers for the LA-based February 13, 2017 59th annual show. By way down, I mean a just over 20% decline from last year to what looks to be an all-time low for the ceremony.
Facing the midseason debut of The Walking Dead and even a bit more competition on the rest of the Big 4 than last night’s show, last year’s Adele dominated Grammys eventually claimed 26.05 million viewers and a 7.8 rating among adults 18-49 when the final numbers came in.

There is no escape.. the flu is rampant in 50 states and officials have declared it the worst in a decade–perhaps longer–and the season is not peaking yet. More to come.
More misery.
And tragically more deaths to result as well.
One of everyone’s favorite photographers just had a near tragic battle:
FAMED DEAD MALL PHOTOG SEPH LAWLESS ALMOST DIED OF THE FLU! ! !
LAWLESS TWEETED:
Recently I had the flu. I ended up in the ER testing positive for the deadly H3N2. They tested my blood gas in artery said the virus was cuttin off oxygen to my organs and that’s why I felt like I was dying, made me stay for 24hr observation. I got the flu shot this year
I was informed by doctors that I could of easily died within minutes if the virus eventually cut more oxygen off to my organs. They also said the CDC predicted the wrong strain this year and that the flu shot is only 10% effective this flu season
It should be duly noted that I exhibited no flu-like symptoms and when asked how I felt I kept saying I felt like I was dying, like my body was shutting down, turns out it was so always trust your gut and go to ER especially during this deadly flu epidemic this year!
….trust your gut.
