MONKEYPOX FEAR IN UK: IS THERE AN UNDETECTED SPREAD? Portugal and Spain among countries reporting cases with legions on patients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expressed concern Tuesday about an unusual outbreak of monkeypox in the United Kingdom, suggesting there appears to be at least some undetected transmission of the virus there and warning of the possibility that the outbreak could spread beyond U.K. borders.

Portugal is reporting 5 monkeypox cases and 20 suspected cases. All of these cases are in young men, healthy and stable, presenting with lesions…

Health authorities in Madrid, Spain, reported eight suspected cases of monkeypox virus. On the same day, the Spanish Ministry of Health issued an emergency health alert to the health departments of all regions of Spain..

Is this the 2022 pandemic to be?

“We do have a level of concern that this is very different than what we typically think of from monkeypox. And I think we have some concern that there could be spread outside the U.K associated with this,” Jennifer McQuiston, a senior CDC official, told STAT in an interview.

‘I do not have an explanation’: Pentagon official shows video of unidentified object

Deputy Director of Navy Intelligence Scott Bray shows declassified video of an unidentified object during a House subcommittee hearing on “unidentified aerial phenomena,” popularly known as UFOs.

Democratic Rep. André Carson of Indiana, the chairman of the panel holding the hearing, warned in his opening remarks, “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena are a potential national security threat. And they need to be treated that way.”

He went on to say, “For too long, the stigma associated with UAPs has gotten in the way of good intelligence analysis. Pilots avoided reporting, or were laughed at when they did. DOD officials relegated the issue to the back room, or swept it under the rug entirely, fearful of a skeptical national security community.”

“Today, we know better. UAPs are unexplained, it’s true. But they are real. They need to be investigated. And any threats they pose need to be mitigated,” he said. The hearing featured testimony from top government officials and the display of images and video of unidentified aerial phenomena. The public portion of the event lasted fewer than 90 minutes. Following the conclusion of the public hearing, the panel will hold a closed-door, classified briefing Tuesday afternoon.

During his testimony, Ronald Moultrie, undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security, argued there is a need to balance transparency with the protection of sensitive intelligence information, saying there is an “obligation to protect sensitive sources and methods.””Our goal is to strike that delicate balance, one that enables us to maintain the public’s trust while preserving those capabilities that are vital to the support of our service personnel,” he said.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING THAT THIS HEARING TOOK PLACE IN PUBLIC.. And that we are talking about it with officials saying that they have absolutely no idea what these things are..

“A source close to the production tells Variety that the latest season is even more cinematic in scope, with each installment being treated as an individual film. Yet another shooting this weekend: Multiple people were shot California church in Laguna Woods Orange County one person detained casualties

Six people at the house of worship were struck by gunfire after the shooter, said to be an Asian male in his 60s, opened fire at around 1:25 p.m. That man is now in police custody.

About 40 parishioners witnessed the violence – but those who were present also helped to prevent further bloodshed by overpowering the shooter and tying him up.

The group reportedly confiscated his weapons and restrained him until police arrived on the scene.

Police say those involved ‘showed exceptional heroism and bravery in detaining the suspect.’

‘That group of churchgoers displayed what we believe is exceptional heroism and bravery in intervening to stop the suspect. They undoubtedly prevented additional injuries and fatalities,’ Orange County Undersheriff Jeff Hallock said. ‘I think it’s safe to say that had people not intervened, it could have been much worse.’

Reviews in: Stranger Things 4 ‘scary’ and ‘mature’

    Comicbook.com:

Netflix held the world premiere for Stranger Things 4 Saturday night, screening the first episode of the streamer’s anchor series for members of the cast and crew. Various members of the media also happened to be in attendance, with the streamer allowing them to tweet out first reactions to the episode immediately after the premiere wrapped. As you might expect, the earliest reactions are overwhelmingly positive, and nearly perfect.

Most are praising the show’s “return to form,” with some calling it the show’s scariest outing yet. Others praised the production value of the project, saying it looks as much like the $30 million Netflix reportedly spent on each episode. The series will debut the first chunk of Season Four episodes on May 27th, while the remainder of the season will be released July 1st.

Zelensky warns that’s Russian blockade could lead to food shortage globally

“Russian officials are also openly threatening the world that there will be famine in dozens of countries,” he said. “And what could be the consequences of such a famine? What political instability and migration flows will this lead to? How much will you have to spend then to overcome the consequences?”

His comments came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country is “not of a favorable opinion” of a move by Finland and, potentially, Sweden to join NATO. Ministers from both countries are expected to attend an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Berlin later today.
