This story is still unfolding, but the plane crash in D.C. has taken an even more devastating turn.
The loss of life alone is heartbreaking, but what makes this even more painful is the presence of figure skaters on board—both professionals and young athletes, children who dedicated their lives to their sport. Among the 64 souls now in the Potomac, their dreams and futures were stolen in an instant.
As the sun rises of the recovery mission, the desperate search begins.
We can only hope for a miracle, but the outlook is grim.

Rescuers have yet to recover any survivors from the scene..

Airport officials have announced that the airport will remain closed until at least 11 a.m. ET on Thursday as emergency crews continue recovery and investigation efforts.
Among those on board the flight were several members of the figure skating community, according to a statement from US Figure Skating and reports from Russian state media.

Now what should it be named.. HD 20794 just doesn’t have a ring. Since Uranus is taken why not Myanus ..
Why does this feel like we just forced a nice ‘book end closure’ to this story?? All of that.. to just be a big bust like this?
The mysterious drones flying over New Jersey that caused alarm among residents last year were in large part authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration, the White House said Tuesday.
The large number of unexplained nighttime drone sightings in New Jersey and other East Coast states created a panic which at one point shut down an airport.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, now says many of those drones were authorized and known by the government.
“After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons,” Leavitt said at a briefing Tuesday.
Leavitt said that the issue grew worse “due to curiosity,” as some of the drones also belonged to hobbyists and private citizens.

The Dow opened about 369 points, or 0.8%, lower. The S&P 500 fell by 2% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq plunged by 3.6%. The Nasdaq hasn’t closed 4% lower since September 2022.
Meta last week said it would spend upward of $65 billion this year on AI development. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, last year said the AI industry would need trillions of dollars in investment to support the development of in-demand chips needed to power the electricity-hungry data centers that run the sector’s complex models.
Global chip stocks slumped Monday after Chinese artificial-intelligence company DeepSeek said it had developed AI models that nearly matched American rivals despite using inferior chips, raising fears the global dominance of U.S. tech could be under threat.
DeepSeek said last week that the performance of its latest R1 model was on par with OpenAI’s o1-mini model that the ChatGPT maker released in September. The announcement came after DeepSeek said in a late-December report that it used a cluster of more than 2,000 Nvidia chips to train its V3 model, compared with the tens of thousands of chips that are normally used for training models of a similar size.
Sometimes, dreams come and go, slipping through our fingers like sand, forgotten before we even open our eyes. But then there are nights when our dreams refuse to let go, clinging to our minds with their surreal imagery and cryptic messages. Last night was one of those nights for me. And trust me, the dreams I had were as bizarre as they were unforgettable.
Let me take you on this strange journey and see if we can untangle the threads of meaning—or just enjoy the ride together.
A Cosmic Textbook
It started with the planets. In my dream, the night sky looked more like a celestial chalkboard, complete with labeled planets hovering in perfect alignment. Jupiter, Mars, Saturn—they all floated there, their names glowing beneath them like captions in a giant astronomy textbook.
What’s fascinating is that, in real life, the planets actually were lined up last night. Maybe this dream was just my brain playing back what I’d seen or read, but the textbook-style labeling? That’s what sticks with me. Was my subconscious trying to tell me something about clarity or understanding? Or was it just showing off its ability to turn the cosmos into an educational PowerPoint slide?
The Woman in the Woods
Then things took a turn. In this dream, I saw a woman walking toward the woods behind my house. She wasn’t threatening, but there was something unsettling about her silence and purpose. She was dressed nicely, carrying a book, and her intentions were vague.
Should I stop her? Should I ask questions? Should I call the police? My dream-self wrestled with indecision until the sheer uncertainty of the situation jolted me awake.
It’s the kind of dream that leaves a residue—a low hum of unease that lingers throughout the day. What was she doing? Why the woods? And why couldn’t I make a decision?
A World Without Squares
And then, the final act: a world where squares didn’t exist. Not just banned, but completely wiped from existence—like some Orwellian fever dream where the concept of four equal sides was deemed unacceptable.
In this dream, we all seemed to vaguely remember squares, but they were now forbidden, replaced by a world of circles, triangles, and abstract shapes. There was an underground network of hidden square objects, like secret contraband for those who couldn’t let go of the past.
I can’t explain why this dream struck such a chord, but it left me with an almost existential sense of wrongness. What does a world without squares even mean? And why did it feel so important?
What Does It All Mean?
Dreams like these—abstract, strange, and layered with unspoken meaning—have a way of sticking with us. They aren’t just random snippets of imagination; they feel like puzzles waiting to be solved.
Take the square dream, for example. Squares are everywhere in our waking world. They represent structure, stability, and order. A home, a framework, a foundation. The absence of squares might symbolize:
A rejection of old systems or ideas.
A loss of structure or stability in life.
A subconscious urge to break free from rigid boundaries and explore something new.
Or maybe it was just my brain having a little fun with geometry at 3 a.m.
A Lingering Sense of Dread
What ties these dreams together is the strange undercurrent of dread—not fear, exactly, but a sense that something was just slightly off. Whether it was the silent woman in the woods or the forbidden squares, there was this quiet, unspoken feeling of unease.
But maybe that’s the beauty of dreams like these. They don’t come with easy answers, but they leave us questioning, reflecting, and (in my case) writing blog posts about them.
So, I’m putting this out into the universe: Calling all dream analyzers! What do you think these dreams mean? What would you make of a world without squares? Or a silent stranger walking toward the woods?
It’s been quite a while since I did a movie review, so here goes nothing!
I just finished watching Presence, the David Soderbergh film starring Lucy Liu.
Before heading into the theater, I, like many others, had a general idea of what to expect—a ghost story, but not your typical one. Instead, it’s a story told through the eyes of the ghost, offering a fresh and unique perspective.
For a modern ghost story, it’s surprisingly creative. The last time something remotely similar was done was probably in the early 2000s with Nicole Kidman’s The Others. However, this film is vastly different. It stands apart with its stark tone and emotional depth. In fact, I believe many of the reviews I’ve read don’t do justice to what this movie offers.
Without giving away spoilers, I’ll just share this: the experience of watching the film in an empty theater added to the creepiness for me. I went alone, expecting a few other moviegoers, but since it was an afternoon showing, the theater was dark and empty. The occasional theater staff peeking in added to the eerie vibe, as if even they were surprised to find someone watching.
Now, about the film itself: Soderbergh invites us to see life—or rather, death—through the ghost’s perspective. We witness a troubled family with clear signs of sibling rivalry, teenagers dealing with the pressures of peer influence and drugs, and, overarching it all, the theme of death. The antagonist is genuinely dreadful; you despise him. And by the end, in a dramatic twist, he gets his just deserts—though not without deep, dark, unintended consequences for the family.
What struck me the most was the emotional impact of the film. None of the reviews I read beforehand prepared me for the depth of feeling it evoked. The last 10 minutes were utterly draining, and in the final moments, I sat alone in that dark theater, almost weeping. The intensity of the family’s struggles, the chilling implications of the story, and even the haunting nature of the 100-year-old mirrors left me shaken.
This movie isn’t boring, contrary to what some critics have said. It’s also nothing like Skinamarink, as some comparisons suggested. This film has dialogue, music, and a narrative style that’s far more engaging. It’s beautifully shot and masterful in its dialogue. While some might argue the human interactions weren’t as creative, I’d disagree. I left the theater deeply moved.
While there aren’t many jump scares, this film doesn’t rely on cheap tricks. Instead, it reaches into your soul and leaves a lasting impression. There’s something profound and meaningful about it. Even if it’s not to everyone’s taste, I urge you to ignore the critics who call it boring and give it a try. Perhaps you’ll leave the theater as I did, emotionally shaken yet strangely grateful for the experience.
It doesn’t solve a mystery but potentially creates a new one.. or ones..
One of the fast radio bursts appears to have come from the chaotic, magnetically active environment near a type of dense neutron star called a magnetar. Meanwhile, the other fast radio burst, which scientists observed pulsating over the course of several months, came from the outskirts of a distant dead, star-starved galaxy.
Researchers utilized a fast radio burst-hunting machine called CHIME, or the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment radio telescope, to uncover both bursts. The instrument has enabled the detection of thousands of FRBs since 2020.
