Happy Halloween. Have a nice trip. See you next fall..

Halloween is here.. And the media is once again using the opportunity to scare parents about the season of the witch.. no spells. No ghosts.. no goblins.. Not even Michael Myers lurking behind a bush.

No, the UPI instead of using the seasonal topic of bad luck that may befall your child..

    Trips. Toxic masks.. an visibility..

From their hard hitting piece on something to make your parental situation even more nervous:

Avoid tripping hazards. Costumes that are too long or baggy can easily cause falls. Hem hand-me-downs or homemade outfits so they don’t drag on the ground.

Stay visible. Add reflective tape to costumes, give kids flashlights or choose light-up treat buckets so drivers can easily see them.

And if you thought they would not bring up the candy situation> Think again!!

Lastly, after trick-or-treating, sort through candy before kiddos dig in. Watch for hard candies that pose choking risks for children under 3, and avoid homemade or unwrapped treats that could contain allergens or other hazards.

MRI machine misinformation, let stories play out before you judge.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when we heard the story about a man who was sucked into an MRI machine? It was tragic. And as awful as it sounds, people still managed to crack jokes about the situation. Macabre, sure—but that’s just something we do as people sometimes, isn’t it?

A lot of folks online actually blamed him, saying he walked in with big chains on. The early reports made it sound like he was completely in the wrong, in the wrong place, ignoring all protocols. But now, maybe we were told wrong. Maybe—just maybe—this is yet another example of the media rushing to report something before all the facts were clear.

Let these stories breathe. Let them develop before we cast judgment.

Now that video has been released, showing 61-year-old Keith McAllister walking freely into the MRI room in New York back in July, wearing a large metal chain around his neck. You see him walking in, following the technician. Moments later, tragedy struck.

Keith later passed away from the injuries caused by the powerful magnetic force of the machine pulling him in. And now, the conversation shifts from blame to accountability.

Where were the protocols? How was he even allowed into that room like that? The lack of enforced safety procedures here is horrendous.

    Pray for the McAllister family.

And at this point, you have to ask—does this family now have the grounds for a wrongful death lawsuit? It’s a terrible, heartbreaking situation. But once again, it highlights why we need to hold off on forming quick opinions until we know the full story.

    OpenAI might be really open.

OpenAI says it’s forced to store deleted ChatGPT conversations “indefinitely” due to a court order issued as part of The New York Times’ copyright lawsuit against it. In a post on Thursday, OpenAI chief operating officer Brad Lightcap says the company is appealing the court’s decision, which he calls an “overreach” that “abandons long-standing privacy norms and weakens privacy protections.”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Thursday that the company plans to appeal a court decision in a copyright case brought by The New York Times.

“Recently the NYT asked a court to force us to not delete any user chats. We think this was an inappropriate request that sets a bad precedent,” Altman wrote in a post on X, adding that the company is “appealing the decision.”

    A Bizarre Story Resurfaces—Again

This morning, while browsing headlines, I found a Drudge Report link to The Sun (UK). We all know The Sun is a tabloid, and this headline was as sensational as they come: a virgin woman became pregnant through oral sex.

Their health reporter wrote it up..

At first glance, it sounds shocking and absurd. But what makes it even stranger is that this case dates back to 1988. Whether it’s true or not, it was well-documented at the time. The real issue is that news outlets are now reporting it as if it just happened—an obvious attempt at clickbait.

The story revolves around a 15-year-old South African girl who was reportedly caught performing oral sex on another man by her boyfriend. A violent altercation followed, and during the fight, the boyfriend stabbed her in the abdomen. According to reports from that time, sperm on the knife led to her pregnancy.

Before dismissing the story entirely, consider this: the girl was born with a rare condition affecting about a few thousand people worldwide—she had no vaginal opening, making traditional conception impossible.

This isn’t the first time The Sun has run this story.

ABC news was among those reporting it 15 years ago, as well..

Through a Google keyword search (archive), Snopes determined a few years that iterations of the incident have circulated in online circles since at least 2010 and have recirculated frequently in the years following

Every few years, they bring it back, saying the report has “resurfaced.” It seems like a cheap trick to drive clicks—and, well, it worked. I clicked. But I wonder how many other people saw the headline and reacted with the same disbelief.

This is what makes things so annoying — while we may have some proof the story was true, it seems disingenuous to continue recycling it repeatedly to get your attention. And is the HORROR REPORT any better for publishing something being critical–and also being a part of this 88-bait?

    An ear on politics

    Tales from Trumpland..

Sunday, while the world was in awe at DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE rockin’ the box, a famed AP photographer Pete Souza got suspended..

From what it seemed, he showcased Donald Trump’s ear, fresh from an assassination attempt, healed. Nothing to see here! ‘

And once it was posted, it X users noticed that Souza was gone. Vanished. Memory holed. They blamed Musk.

People with a larger group of followers than me said things, such as this:

So the net sleuths did what they do.. and found out that the same image of Trump with his right ear in tact was actually not from July 2024.. not from 2024.. but instead.. it appeared it was from well over a year ago?!

    Debate remains fresh..

But one thing we can tell.. nothing in 2024 is real. Welcome the stage.. you are … you, are a star of your own show. Enjoy the ride.

    What’s real?

At least one new NEWS article has a story that Trump was struck by a bullet in Butler..

    YOU were real, Truman.

NEW YORK POST splashes exclusive interview with Donald Trump after weekend assassination attempt

Just hours after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the New York POST got an exclusive interview with the former president.

The POST said that Trump was bandaged but photos were not permitted to be taken..

    Some quotes:

On the shooting: “I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead,” Trump said. “I’m supposed to be dead”

On the “get my shoes” request.. “The agents hit me so hard that my shoes fell off, and my shoes are tight,” he said with a smile.

On the shooter: “They took him out with one shot right between the eyes,” the former president said as he pointed to the bridge of his nose. “They did a fantastic job,” he added. “It’s surreal for all of us.”

On the photo and the “fight” with a fist pump: “A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen,” Trump said. “They’re right and I didn’t die. Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture.” He added, “I just wanted to keep speaking, but I just got shot.”

“By luck or by God, many people are saying it’s by God I’m still here,” he said.

TIME MAGAZINE puts historic Trump photo on new cover

23 years ago, George W. Bush graced the cover of Time Magazine after 9/11 holding a flag on the rubble on the World Trade Center Towers.. It felt at the time like a game changer–for better or worse history was altered and a new path was carved..

All these years later, a new historic photo is now etched into our psyche..

Donald Trump, grazed by a bullet in an assassination attempt, now graces a new cover of TIME magazine.. The sky behind him is blue, unliked the Bush imagery of gray and billowing dust clouds.. But the flag is there in the distance, with blood flowing down Trump’s face..

In both covers, the right arm is extended high into the sky. Both in acts of defiance..

And both moments in time feel the same. While the path we embark on now as a nation is very different than it would have been, something feels like it is dramatically different and altered.

    Living through history.

In 2001 the nation was just on edge as we are now–maybe even more so then. But we survived. The path worked out.

Let’s see where this new road takes us.

Tri-Shake quake update: We love the way the New York POST commemorated the event

Great cover! A WOBBLY headline with a Statue of Liberty shocked by the event.. the biggest quake in 140 years and luckily for New York still some newspapers to keep a print record of the event..

And now since the quake occurred, so have aftershocks: A LOT of aftershocks. As of midnight, New Jersey was up to 21 earthquakes for the day. 20 of them are probably aftershocks of the first, a potent 4.8, but we won’t be certain until the sequence ends. USGS says more earthquakes are likely over the next 30 days. They have updated their aftershock forecast once again:

The POST has that and other summaries written about the tri-shake quake that affected 40 million people..

    Journalism takes a half time

It should be noted that this most likely AI written Mashable article, claiming that Usher “blew up the Internet“ after his halftime performance at the Super Bowl, was published while he was still performing at the Super Bowl.

This is how ‘journalism’ works now. Pre written pre fed and indigestible.
