    The life changing moments

This past week I learned that a truly wonderful person left this planet. She was a kind hearted who led her family through good times and bad.

I have had a bit of a writer’s block lately. I am going through a little bit of a transition myself.

The news couldn’t be more interesting. Donald Trump tweeting about FBI raids on his lawyer’s office due to a porn star scandal. How salacious can you get! A nude protester interrupting Bill Cosby’s trial! Mark Zuckerberg himself appearing before Congress to testify about giving away our secrets to third party companies and Russians! Disasters in the weather world! Major motion pictures! Winter storms!

And maybe it is just information overload.

I opened this post with a brief note about a friend, Kim, who passed away this week. When I met her my life was in a different place. Just after high school and a whole set of different people in my life than what exists now.

    Seven year cycles.

There is a theory and belief among some that every seven years, your Chakra changes.

Seven seems to be the magic number. The time when your cells change. The time when your mind and spirit may as well.
    0-7 Years7-14 Years14-21 Years21-28 Years28-35 Years35-42 Years 42-49 Years49-56 Years56-63 Years63-70 Years70-77 Years77-84 Years

The period I am in now seems accurate:

From the thirty-fifth to the forty-second year, depending upon one’s personality and what one’s circumstances allow, one begins to feel a new restlessness. In some degree a desire to share whatever one has gained through life with others comes to the surface.

Thus we find many successful business men building libraries, or aiding colleges and the arts at this period in their life. What has been developed or realised can be taken to greater subtlety during this period. This is almost like unfolding something, perhaps similar to the way a flower unfolds a bud that has been developing in earlier phases of its growth. This is when we reassess the results of what we are doing externally in our life. Our relationships, careers, habits and the ways we interact are all put under scrutiny and modified or changed. It’s a time of facing up to what does and what doesn’t satisfy us.

You may reach heights or realisation and creativity not touched previously. The profound breakthrough of ones innate genius that emerges around this time will no doubt be expressed in some degree. However, whatever is attained or realised will be enlarged and synthesised in later periods.

Perhaps this is why the writer’s block is coming to fruition. The culmination of a change.. Our relationships, careers, habits and the ways we interact are all put under scrutiny and modified or changed. It’s a time of facing up to what does and what doesn’t satisfy us.

Indeed it exist like that.. a time when, in this seven year cycle, a mall indeed is also being taken away from our very existence……memories written on walls that now crashed down.

As the seven year cycle evolves…

  • Positive words. Positives vibes. Let’s try together!

Positive words. Positives vibes. Let’s try together!

The world has been wildly negative lately. People are hating on each other.. words are caustic and arguments are vitriolic. Families are divided and friendships are ending..

    OR      S O    W E    A R E      T O L D !!

If you pay attention to modern media, you are blasted by by the negative sensation that has become pop culture.. It is deriding and divisive.. it is hateful and intrusive.. It attacks the very pit of your soul and insults the top of your brain. It connects you to nothing but further hate. Further animosity.. further connection to darkness…

And then come the hate-filled words. You don’t even know you’re saying.

Each time you say the following you connect yourself with negative repercussions:

    I hate life.

    People suck.

    The world sucks.

    Nothing good happens.

    You can’t trust anyone.

    People’s intentions are awful.

    I’m broke.

    I am in debt.

    I can’t get ahead.

    No one likes me.

    I have no friends.

    I have no future.

    I may as well die.

    THE UNIVERSE IS LISTENING!

    All of the time..

When you send out an intention, such as “I have no friends,” the universe responds accordingly. It is thus. You said it..

“No one likes me.” The universe says OKAY..

    I am broke. You are.

I have no future. The universe will agree.. if you’re intention will be to have no future, the universe will not get in your way.

The real trick is not to just fake it til you make it, but believe the fakery.

“I Have a future.” The universe will agree..

    (Only if you believe it)

I have friends. The universe will permit such, if you think it is true.

The intentions you have dwelled on for so long, those negative ones, are so deep in your psyche that you will have a rough time escaping the emotion.. escaping the words..

But to change, you have to..

I don’t win many things in life. I play the lottery but with the millions of others, it would be logical fallacy to believe I can muster enough luck to get the $700 mill jackpot.

But there was ONE time I recall, about 15 years in the past, when I entered into a raffle.. the grand prize was only about $100. When I entered my name in the raffle, I IMMEDIATELY knew I would win. It just came over me.. it was one of the few times I was connected to the natural order. To the flow of the universe.. I just KNEW I would win. And when the raffle winners were announced later in the day, I have nervous pins and needles in my stomach because I knew my name would be called. It was.

My wife had an equally similar experience about a week ago at a casino. She never gambles. She literally just stopped by with a friend. She knew she’d win, and won enough cash to pay for the brakes her car needed. It worked out.. Somehow the universe aligns when you ALLOW it to.. when you accept it.

The ‘I always lose’ concept gets stale. The universe, however, hears it so much that it starts to believe YOU when you say it.

    Just start saying something different.

I am going to try.. I am going to experiment. I want to change my reality.. So to do so I need to believe my reality has changed.

This is an experience I’d like some help with. If you feel yourself to be in the same rut, the same insane space of media drain, go with me. Take a trip down this path.. put another log on the fire and let’s sit around it and ask for some positive vibes by sending some out .. you are among friends.

Today’s revelations concerning early life on earth–for some reason–remind me of the REM song HOW THE WEST WAS WON AND WHERE IT GOT US..

A somber song for reflection on how, but yet how little, we have come.

The habitable zone: Maybe the entire entire universe. New research says the life count could be in the trillions

Alien Civilizations May Number In The Trillions, New Study Says »

Proving again that we hardly know anything about our universe and certainly nothing about the potential for how abundant life may be ‘out there’ in the cosmos.. enter this study.

The research, published in the journal Astrobiology last week, suggests that more planets in the Milky Way galaxy may harbor advanced civilizations than we previously imagined.
Study co-authors Adam Frank and Woodruff Sullivan looked at recent discoveries of potentially habitable exoplanets and considered the odds of whether sophisticated civilizations existed on them in the past or present.
“What we showed was the ‘floor’ on the probability for a civilization to form on any randomly chosen planet,” Frank, a University of Rochester physics and astronomy professor, told The Huffington Post in an email. “If we are the only civilization in cosmic history, then that what we calculated is the actual probability nature has set. But if the actual probability is higher than that floor, then civilizations have happened before.”

According to the theory, the amount of life on planets beyond ours is potentially staggering.

“Even if you are pretty pessimistic and think that you’d have to search through 100 billion (habitable zone) planets before you found one where a civilization developed, then there have still been a trillion civilizations over cosmic history!” Frank wrote. “When I think about that, my mind reels — even if there is just a one in a 100 billion chance of evolution creating exo-civilizations, the universe still has made so many of them that we are swamped by histories other than our own.”

So there you have your “feeling small on Sunday morning” post.. The notion that we are just existent in a universe abundant in other civilizations like this. Or maybe hopefully NOT like us at all..

  • The waning days of summer

    The waning days of summer

fireflyIt happens this time of year. Every year.. the moment when you’re staring at a beautiful summer sunset only to realize how early it’s leaving us.. how short the days are becoming.

Sure, there’s plenty of heat coming.. Scorching conditions of August, dog days of the month. They will undoubtedly occur.. and when the first burst of cold air comes in it will make us feel alive.

But we’re also be saying goodbye to the summer season.. the months of the year where the great ball of light in the sky makes us feel alive. Amazingly alive.

I have come to love the sun.
When I was younger and less skilled in the game of life, the summer was a dreadful time. I hated the heat, the storms.. the sultry conditions of the night. As I grew older, I began to realize how important this time of year was.. how amazing and life giving the heat can be, even when you’re sweating through T shirts and wiping your brow..

So here it is again.. back to school purchases being made. End of summer clothing sales on racks.. And yes, even Halloween candy slowly starting to rear its head at convenient store counters. Signs of the season..
    Signs of the dying season.

Fireflies are still littering the air at dusk in a beautiful serenade to the night. But the lights are dimming. There are less of them now, more darkness .. More crickets .. Sounds of late summer mating.

It will all go by very fast now. Enjoy it.
Enjoy all of it.. every bead of sweat.. every ray of sun.. Every last minute of light before darkness sets in..
    Before the cold..
    Before the summer ends.

  • How to find the origin of a quote on the Internet. In the matrix

How to find the origin of a quote on the Internet. In the matrix

I read a link posted by George Knapp on Facebook and Twitter tonight to a website called Educating Humanity. The link describes well respected people who say we may be living in a simulated reality. A matrix.. Just like the movie version..

This quote, in particular, was present:
Rich Terrile, director of the Centre for Evolutionary Computation and Automated Design at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has spoken out about the digital simulation.
“Right now the fastest NASA supercomputers are cranking away at about double the speed of the human brain,” the NASA scientist told Vice.

“ If you make a simple calculation using Moore’s Law [which roughly claims computers double in power every two years], you’ll find that these supercomputers, inside of a decade, will have the ability to compute an entire human lifetime of 80 years – including every thought ever conceived during that lifetime – in the span of a month.
“In quantum mechanics, particles do not have a definite state unless they’re being observed.
“Many theorists have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how you explain this.
“One explanation is that we’re living within a simulation, seeing what we need to see when we need to see it.
“What I find inspiring is that, even if we are in a simulation or many orders of magnitude down in levels of simulation, somewhere along the line something escaped the primordial ooze to become us and to result in simulations that made us – and that’s cool.”

While searching for Rich Terrile’s actual quote in VICE (the aforementioned story didn’t link the VICE article), I found YOUR NEWS WIRE declaring this headline: Universe A Matrix Computer Game Designed By Aliens, Say NASA

Now, with all due respect to YOUR NEWS WIRE, one scientist speaking doesn’t proclaim NASA’s official position. And even more, if you read then quote displayed originally by Terrille, he said that some theorists have claimed this and that he finds it cool. As do I..
    But…
Terrile didn’t proclaim we are all simulated and fake. And it certainly didn’t warrant this headline from another strange site I found called ST THOMAS AQUINAS VS NASA (real stuff) .. They went as far as calling this scientist insane for saying that some people say something that other people have always contemplated.
The UK EXPRESS fishwrapper over in the UK also did its part, saying that a NASA scientist said we ‘May’ be living in a matrix. Even though he entertained the thoughts only of others, as I said.. With a keen eye, you may notice the text of the EXPRESS article is the same as the others.. which means someone copied off of someone. And with the net, it’s tough to tell if the chicken or the egg came first. In this case, the quote or the highly copied story reposted and reposted all over again.
But finally, all of these stories regardless of who the first one to write it was, all mentioned that Rich Terrille was interviewed by VICE .. and that is where all sources are deriving the quote about the simulated matrix notion…I thought about this long and hard, and something was telling me I heard this all before.. Like I read it before. Like maybe I was in a simulated matrix and someone kept rebroadcasting the same link over and over again. So I checked the COAL SPEAKER archive and realized hat this quote was printed on my very site in 2012!! Years ago..
So did I someone hear it before St. Thomas who hates NASA did? And the Knapp linked site? And the EXPRESS?
    No.. I Checked
VICE actually had an article in 2012. Proof here: http://www.vice.com/search?query=terrille … and even more interesting, the VICE article THEN quoting Terrille actually talks about a show he appeared on in 2010: THROUGH THE WORMHOLE..
So … that would mean all of these websites TODAY featuring this quotation as if it’s new are actually repeating news from 5 years ago. Think of it like this: If you were in your matrix, bought a car in May 2010, you now own your car. But also there is a good likelihood that your car was fixed at least 6 times and had way too many things happen to it, causing you to doubt your reality and hate your existence. But you also most likely had the chance to go to a car dealership and eat their “free” popcorn while your car was looked at by professionals, who told you that your car was ‘done for’ and that you should be a new car. And you’re going through it all over again.
    All in this matrix.
But the theory is interesting, don’t get me wrong. I think about it often.
The offensive part, to me, is how the internet has a knack for repeating and regurgitating articles simply for click porn. Especially when higher profile people link it without realizing that it was first reported in 2012. And 2010.
    All in the matrix.
    All by sims.
    On earth.
