A woman who claimed to have a grandmother inside a writing class in Snyder Hall, where a portion the massacre unfolded, described the scene in a tweet. “The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian,” she wrote. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs. My grandma just got to my house, and she was in the room. She wasn’t shot, but she is very upset.

Heartbreak and shock over drowned Syrian boy attempting to escape his country’s horror

The headline of the Drudge Report is shocking. Drudge published the shocking photo of a shocking cover story from the UK INDEPENDENT … The image shows a Syrian boy, drowned and dead face down..
After the image was published, it has been shared around the word millions of times over.. He was three. His name is Aylan. His brother, age 5, also died. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/09/03/a-desperate-refugee-family-a-capsized-boat-and-3-year-old-dead-on-a-beach-in-turkey/)
He died like many other fleeing war and desperation in Syria. We also now know that Canada rejected his family’s attempt at asylum because the United Nations don’t recognize Kurdish Syrians who spend time in Turkey as refugees.
Most of the news organizations publishing this picture are doing so with notations that normally they would showcase such harrowing images. But this one is different.. Just like some iconic images from LIFE MAGAZINE of Saigon, his AFP/GETTY IMAGES photo is historical already. It’s also extremely sad and disgusting.
Disgusting that children don’t have a chance at childhood .. That we, as people on this planet in this new century, can’t escape our man made religions.. Can’t escape our barbarism.. Can’t escape our inhumanity.
And suffer the children. As always.
My initial reaction to this picture was that this boy looked a lot like my own .. He has an outfit similar to that my son wears. I bet he looks a lot like a child in your family, too.
Guess what. He is a child of you.. He’s a child of God. Or whatever deity you find comfort in believing is real.
This child now, a short life extinguished, is face down on the planet of war and strife.
Since the war in Syria is raging, more will attempt to escape to Europe and the same fate may await them as well. Other lucky ones will make it.
Then what?
Peace? Stability? A childhood?
Never on this planet. Humanity is too egotistical and reckless to ever allow goodness to creep into the darkness we have so effectively created.
Sorry for my hopeless words.. But this photo really took me by surprise today when I first saw it. I became quite emotional. And now it’s an image I’ll never quite get out of my mind.
Will you?

THE BIG ONE COMING? Fear and loathing in the Bay Area
A few people who I read believed that the film SAN ANDREAS was just product placement for the real deal–that something big was going to happen in California. Getting the people prepped for natural calamity? That indeed is what some argued..
Early this morning there was a 4.0 quake felt far and wide around the city of San Francisco. It rattled nerves more than buildings or ground.. But even scarier than a little rattle would be a bigger shake.
That bigger shake, a geologist says, will happen any day now.
The fault line in question is the Hayward Fault.. Bay area residents, the geologist said, should be ready for a natural disaster that could change landscape and lives.
CBS in the Bay Area interviewed geologist Tom Brocher.. Among the words from the station that may be heeded:
“We keep a close eye on the Hayward Fault because it does sit in the heart of the Bay Area and when we do get a big earthquake on it, it’s going to have a big impact on the entire Bay Area,” Brocher said.
While a 2008 report put the probability of a 6.7-magnitude or larger earthquake on the Hayward-Rodgers Creek Fault system over the next 30 years at 31 percent, Brocher said the reality is a major quake is expected on the fault “any day now.”
“The past five major earthquakes on the fault have been about 140 years apart, and now we’re 147 years from that 1868 earthquake, so we definitely feel that could happen any time,” Brocher said.
Brocher urged residents to take steps to prepare for a major earthquake.Does this sound imminent to you reading?
Could this just be conjecture? Maybe just a frightful message to stir the pot, keep people motivated to be prepped, and allow people to get a plan ready. Just in case it’s any day or any year? Is that what this is?Some, like Stan Deyo and the famed net quakeshaker DUTCHSINSE, believe that quakes can not only be predicted but also, perhaps, purposely manipulated..
The chorus of proclaimers who think predictions are likely and possible may have not grown larger–a US Geologist warning residents on a large California broadcast station to be prepared and that within only a few days, their world could be rocked and changed..

‘Drink more water’: Horror stories from the medical ward of a Texas immigration detention center
‘Drink more water’: Horror stories from the medical ward of a Texas immigration detention center
From the FUSION report:
A mother with two broken fingers walked into the doctors office at the South Texas Family Residential Center and walked out only with instructions to “tomar más agua” (drink more water). A nine-year-old boy who shrieked during the night from the pain of a dislocated shoulder was told by doctors to do the same thing. Two hundred and fifty children were accidentally given the wrong vaccine.
These claims, along with dozens of other complaints of medical neglect, are outlined in 28 medical affidavits obtained by Fusion from a brand new family detention center that holds about 2,000 migrant mothers and children fleeing violence and seeking asylum in the United States. The affidavits paint a picture of a facility where medical professionals are severely understaffed, wait times for care can exceed six hours, and children and mothers are routinely turned away without treatment.

NASA says a mysterious object that light up the night sky in the southeast was space debris re-entering the earth’s atmosphere
“something with bright colors with a long following of bright colors went through the sky. It was amazing.”
NASA says the debris was traveling around 14,500 miles per hour and was tracked by five NASA cameras in the southeast.
The Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville is part of NASA’s fireball camera network and monitors the sky on clear nights for events like this.
After a meteor shot through the sky in 2014, they say it happens regularly.
Regularly.
Especially lately.
The pink stars are falling..
