The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania Theater Ensemble has shared a heartfelt message on their Facebook page, mourning the loss of Lydia Hannibal White-Spunner, a beloved performer and creative force.
Born on November 20, 1954, in New Haven, Connecticut, Lydia’s career spanned stage and screen. She was known for her roles in Ted (2012), the cult classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (1978), and the acclaimed TV series Picket Fences (1992).
Beyond her acting talent, Lydia’s contributions to the arts community—and to those who knew her personally—were deeply cherished. She had been married to Jonathan White-Spunner since 1991 and was a proud mother of two. She was previously married to actor Isiah Whitlock Jr.
Her legacy lives on through the performances she brought to life and the countless lives she touched on and off the stage.

The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble is deeply saddened by the loss of Lydia Hannibal White-Spunner, beloved wife of our Managing Director, Jon White-Spunner.
Lydia was a kind, thoughtful, and gracious presence in our community. Her quiet strength and unwavering support have touched many over the years, and her warmth and generosity will be long remembered by those who had the honor of knowing her.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jon, their daughters Hannah and Oonagh, and all who are feeling the weight of this loss. Lydia’s spirit will remain a part of the Ensemble through the lives and work of those she supported and inspired.
