Dutch health authorities said that dozens of people who arrived in Amsterdam on two flights from South Africa on Friday are likely infected with COVID-19, and they are conducting further testing to see if people are infected with the recently discovered Omicron coronavirus variant. Around 600 passengers arrived at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on the two KLM flights on Friday and then faced hours of delays and testing due to concerns over thenew virus variant. On the basis of initial testing, the Dutch health ministry estimated there may be around 85 positive cases among the passengers.
The World Health Organization announced Friday it was naming a new Covid-19 variant “Omicron,” skipping over a politically sensitive letter of the Greek alphabet.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) – The Blount County Sheriff’s Office said hundreds of missing FedEx packages were thrown into a ravine. Authorities said 300 to 400 boxes of packages were thrown off of the ravine, WBRC reported. “There’s a river down by this area, and it was down the ravine, down towards the river. None of the packages made it to the river. The packages are, obviously, have not been there longer than one or two days,” Sheriff Mark Moon said. FedEx crews arrived Thanksgiving morning to pick up the package, removing them all before 10:30 a.m.

“Here is a mutation variant of serious concern,” Health Minister Joe Phaahla said at the same media event. “We were hopeful that we might have a longer break in between waves — possibly that it would hold off to late December or even next year January.”

The new variant is likely to have evolved during a chronic infection of an immuno-compromised person, possibly in an untreated HIV/AIDS patient, Francois Balloux, director of the UCL Genetics Institute, said in a statement published by the Science Media Centre…

The variant was first spotted in Botswana, where three cases have now been sequenced. Six more have been confirmed in South Africa, and one in Hong Kong in a traveller returning from South Africa. Dr Tom Peacock, a virologist at Imperial College London, posted details of the new variant on a genome-sharing website, noting that the “incredibly high amount of spike mutations suggest this could be of real concern”. In a series of tweets, Peacock said it “very, very much should be monitored due to that horrific spike profile”, but added that it may turn out to be an “odd cluster” that is not very transmissible. “I hope that’s the case,” he wrote.

A New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson told ESPN that Elisah Spencer ran at Rollins and tackled him during a live broadcast of WWE’s Monday Night Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
NYPD said at about 9:20 p.m., Spencer left his seat and jumped over the security barricade and attacked Rollins, who is one of the promotion’s biggest stars and former world champion.
The altercation was seen on live television, but WWE swiftly shifted its cameras away as it became apparent it wasn’t a part of the skit, ESPN reported.
Rollins, who suffered a swollen lip from the attack, refused medical attention…

Police Chief Dan Thompson said that there was no evidence the bloodshed Sunday was a terrorist attack or that the suspect, Darrell Brooks Jr., knew anyone in the parade. Brooks acted alone, the chief said.

CBS 2 learned that Brooks was charged with resisting or obstructing an officer, bail jumping, recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and battery on Nov. 5. According to the criminal complaint, Brooks hit a woman, who was the mother of his child, with his fist and then ran over the woman in a maroon Ford Escape, similar to the vehicle used in Sunday’s rampage. He pleaded not guilty to counts 1, 4 and 5. This appears to be a domestic violence case because one of the court entries says two women filed for a no contact order, which the court put into effect. On Friday. he posted $1,000 cash bail.
The Milwaukee County District attorney’s office has opened an investigation into such a low bail “in light of the nature of the recent charges and pending charges against Mr. Brooks,’ according to a memo released Monday and obtained by CBS 58 reporter Kristen Barbaresi.

The FBI obtained a search warrant to “conduct a site survey underneath the Pulaski Skyway,” said Mara Schneider, a spokeswoman for the Detroit field office.
“On October 25th & 26th, FBI personnel from the Newark and Detroit field offices completed the survey and that data is currently being analyzed,” Schneider said in a written statement Friday.. she didn’t indicate whether anything was removed.
“Because the affidavit in support of the search warrant was sealed by the court, we are unable to provide any additional information,” Schneider said.
It is unknown if Kevin Smith’s He-Man Revelation series will get a second season, but the second half to the first season premieres November 23rd 2021..

The first five episodes were somewhat controversial among fans—both new and old. A number of people felt that the Kevin Smith re imagining took the series far distant from where the 1980s show started..
But in fairness he wanted to do that.. 
There were rumors and accusations that Kevin Smith was “woke“ in the series, some thing he vehemently denied in a number of videos on his own social media accounts…
The main beef that anyone appeared to have was how He-Man was pushed aside during the first five episodes.
The toy line for Revelations doesn’t seem to be doing so hot when compared to the new for 2020 and 2021 toys of the original He-Man toy line..
Previews indicate that the next several episodes to conclude season one will bring he-man back in some heroic battle. At least that’s what the trailers would make it appear, we will know for sure within hours when Netflix drops the final five…
