Sick find: 31 bodies found at funeral home, some of them are decomposing

Police in the Louisville suburb of Jeffersonville responded to Lankford Funeral Home and Family Center on Friday evening and found 31 bodies, including some “in the advanced stages of decomposition,” Maj. Isaac Parker said.

He said the county coroner’s office had reported a strong odor emanating from the building. Inside, officers wearing hazmat gear found bodies “in different places around the building.”

Some of the bodies had been at the funeral home since March, Parker said.
Police also found the cremated remains of 16 people.

A woman who sent her brother’s body to the funeral home for cremation after he died in April told WHAS-TV that she is still waiting for his remains. Tara Owen said when she reached out to the funeral director, he responded that he was “dealing with a lot at the moment.”

There is a chance that people were on to something wretched occurring.. Read this GOOGLE REVIEW from PRIOR to the event becoming known to police and receiving national headlines:

Do not trust this place. This man took my money, promised me my fathers remains and then gave them to my brothers, one of which is wanted by the state of Ohio. This man rejected all my phone calls for two months and exactly two months after my dad had passed, finally answered my call and told me he had given the ashes away. THIS PLACE IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. The man was rude to me on the phone and wouldn’t even tell me when in the past two months my fathers remains had been picked up. I’m 2k miles away on the west coast and he told me he would ship them to me since i had paid for the cremation. This place wouldn’t even post an obituary for my father even through I had written and submitted one (w a pic) for their website. They won’t even upload my dads pic on the website.

Saturday night shooting in the city of brotherly love: Philadelphia mass shooting

At least 3 killed, 11 injured in mass shooting on South Street

At least three people were killed and 11 injured when multiple people opened fire in the busy South Street area of Philadelphia Saturday night, police said.

Officers were patrolling the area when they heard gunfire shortly before midnight, Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said, adding the officers observed “several active shooters shooting into the crowd.”
One officer was “within about 10 to 15 yards” of one of the individuals firing into the crowd and shot at the suspect, Pace said. “We’re uncertain whether he was struck or not, but the officer was able to get that individual to drop his gun and flee,” the police inspector said.

IS IT CAKE? Man arrested for Mona Lisa stunt

While we used the image from MR. BEAN for this story, it was not him.. Instead this Mona Lisa attack involved cake!

    FROM THE AFP REPORTING:

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and placed in psychiatric care after he smeared a glass screen encasing the Mona Lisa with cake, prosecutors said Monday, in a purported protest against artists not focusing enough on “the planet”.

Officials at the Louvre Museum in Paris, where the enigmatic portrait holds pride of place, declined to comment on the bizarre incident on Sunday, which was captured on several phones and circulated widely on social media.

The treasured work by Leonardo da Vinci, which has been the target of vandalism attempts in the past, was unharmed thanks to its bulletproof glass case.

A Twitter user identified as Lukeee posted a video showing a museum employee wiping a mess off the glass and another showing a man dressed in white being escorted away by security guards.

“A man dressed as an old lady jumps out of a wheelchair and attempted to smash the bulletproof glass of the Mona Lisa. Then proceeds to smear cake on the glass and throws roses everywhere, all before being tackled by security,” Lukeee wrote.

Speaking French, the man says: “There are people who are destroying the Earth… All artists, think about the Earth. That’s why I did this. Think of the planet.”

Texas Department of Public Safety admits “it was wrong” not to immediately breach the class door

    This is just horrible.

    Seriously, awful.

This week has been one of the worst in some time. We are mourning.. we are angry.. we are sad.

What makes this entire situation worse is new information that maybe police could have done more to stop Salvador Ramos before he killed as many as he did in Uvlade’s Robb Elementary.

Steven McCraw, the Director and Colonel of the Texas Department of Public Safety, points to a map of the shooter’s movements during a press conference in front of Robb Elemenary School where a deadly shooting left 19 children and two teachers dead, in Uvalde, Tx., U.S., on Friday, May 27, 2022. Ninteen children and two teachers were killed when an 18-year-old gunman opened fire in a classroom at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Uvalde, Tx. Photographer: Matthew Busch/CNN

New information today has created more public anger:

While taking questions from reporters during Friday’s news conference, Col. Steven McCraw of the Texas Department of Public Safety criticized some aspects of the police response to the shooting, in particular regarding the time it took for officers to engage with the gunman.

“A decision was made that this was a barricaded subject situation,” McCraw said of the incident commander’s “thought process” at the time.

Rather than immediately try to breach the classroom and engage with the gunman, McCraw said the commander — who he later identified as the school district’s chief of police — decided that “there was time to retrieve the keys, and wait for a tactical team with the equipment to go ahead and breach the door and take on the subject.”“From the benefit of hindsight where I’m sitting now, of course it was not the right decision. It was the wrong decision, period. There’s no excuse for that. But again, I wasn’t there,” he added.

“We believe there should have been an entry as soon as you can,” McCraw continued. “When there’s an active shooter, the rules change.”

    Just awful.

  • BUFFALO NEWS SPLASH: DID SOMEONE HAVE 30 MINUTES ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF GROCERY STORE SHOOTING?

BUFFALO NEWS SPLASH: DID SOMEONE HAVE 30 MINUTES ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF GROCERY STORE SHOOTING?

The New York paper doing great reporting not being seen in national sources:

Law enforcement officers are investigating whether a retired federal agent had about 30 minutes advance notice of a white supremacist’s plans to murder Black people at a Buffalo supermarket, two law enforcement officials told The Buffalo News.

Authorities believe the former agent – believed to be from Texas – was one of at least six individuals who regularly communicated with accused gunman Payton Gendron in an online chat room where racist hatred was discussed, the two officials said.

The two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation stated these individuals were invited by Gendron to read about his mass shooting plans and the target location about 30 minutes before Gendron killed 10 people at Tops Markets on Jefferson Avenue on May 14.

The News could not determine if the retired agent accepted the invitation.

Yet another shooting this weekend: Multiple people were shot California church in Laguna Woods Orange County one person detained casualties

Six people at the house of worship were struck by gunfire after the shooter, said to be an Asian male in his 60s, opened fire at around 1:25 p.m. That man is now in police custody.

About 40 parishioners witnessed the violence – but those who were present also helped to prevent further bloodshed by overpowering the shooter and tying him up.

The group reportedly confiscated his weapons and restrained him until police arrived on the scene.

Police say those involved ‘showed exceptional heroism and bravery in detaining the suspect.’

‘That group of churchgoers displayed what we believe is exceptional heroism and bravery in intervening to stop the suspect. They undoubtedly prevented additional injuries and fatalities,’ Orange County Undersheriff Jeff Hallock said. ‘I think it’s safe to say that had people not intervened, it could have been much worse.’

    Another weekend of disgusting news..

    The AP reporting:

A gunman wearing military-style clothing and body armor opened fire with a rifle at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, killing at least 10 people before being taken into custody Saturday afternoon, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.

Details on the number of additional people shot at the Tops Friendly Market and their conditions weren’t immediately available. The two officials were not permitted to speak publicly on the matter and did so on the condition of anonymity. The suspect was being questioned Saturday evening by the FBI, one of the officials said.

Investigators believe the gunman may have been streaming the shooting through a camera affixed to his helmet, one of the officials said. The video showed the gunman, dressed in military gear, pulling up to the front of the store with a rifle on the front seat and then pointing the rifle at people in the parking lot as he exited the vehicle and opening fire, the official said.
