Six people at the house of worship were struck by gunfire after the shooter, said to be an Asian male in his 60s, opened fire at around 1:25 p.m. That man is now in police custody.
About 40 parishioners witnessed the violence – but those who were present also helped to prevent further bloodshed by overpowering the shooter and tying him up.
The group reportedly confiscated his weapons and restrained him until police arrived on the scene.
Police say those involved ‘showed exceptional heroism and bravery in detaining the suspect.’
‘That group of churchgoers displayed what we believe is exceptional heroism and bravery in intervening to stop the suspect. They undoubtedly prevented additional injuries and fatalities,’ Orange County Undersheriff Jeff Hallock said. ‘I think it’s safe to say that had people not intervened, it could have been much worse.’

Details on the number of additional people shot at the Tops Friendly Market and their conditions weren’t immediately available. The two officials were not permitted to speak publicly on the matter and did so on the condition of anonymity. The suspect was being questioned Saturday evening by the FBI, one of the officials said.
Investigators believe the gunman may have been streaming the shooting through a camera affixed to his helmet, one of the officials said. The video showed the gunman, dressed in military gear, pulling up to the front of the store with a rifle on the front seat and then pointing the rifle at people in the parking lot as he exited the vehicle and opening fire, the official said.

The disappearance Jesse Farber appears on Danelle Hallan YouTube channel
Jesse Lee Farber, also known as Jesse Rex, was last seen on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Tamaqua, PA.
Danelle Hallan is a popular Youtuber and presented this video about Farber.
Hallan said that Farber’s mom reached out to her to get this story out to a larger audience.
The family believes there is something deeper to the story ..Hallan does a fine bit of work at setting up the video, describing Jesse’s behavior, and extreme nervousness and battles over money..
According to police, Farber made a frantic call to his girlfriend Rachel prior to the disappearance. Her account included a statement that he needed to “do things on his own.”
Police took on large scale examinations of mountains and cliffs west of Tamaqua after Farber vanished.
Before he vanished, he told his girlfriend he was being chased by coyotes and was hiding in a tree–she said to bring guns and come to find him..
He seemed panicked and seemingly feared for his life.
Police believe that he met his fate when he was chased or attached by coyotes–the wild animal version.
Farber’s mother, Norma Fritz, agreed on the premise of coyotes but felt instead it was at the hands of the infamous drug gang..
He could have fallen into an air shaft.

Philly correctional officers are quitting in huge numbers
In July, after 18 years as a correctional officer, Malloy joined an exodus of 25 workers each month who have been leaving jobs at the city jail complex in Northeast Philadelphia during the pandemic. Some, like her, were midcareer workers who had envisioned staying on through retirement. They quit, they told The Inquirer, amid what they described as a mounting mental-health and public safety crisis.
Several described experiencing panic attacks on the job, and said they had begun taking prescription antianxiety medications. Others described physical illness they believed resulted from the stress of long hours and unsafe staffing levels.
