The Spanish Flu is so 2000 and late: Covid death toll about to surpass

The United States’ ‘known death toll’ from COVID-19 will surpass the number of dead from the Spanish Flu within the next day or two, according to the side-by-side numbers ..

While both viruses (and times that took place in) are different, the fact we are Close to Surpassing the Spanish flu death toll in modern society is alarming..

COVID-related U.S. deaths as of Sunday night are at 673,763, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

That’s just over 1,200 fewer than died in the 1918 Spanish Flu, which took an estimated 675,000 lives in the U.S. Before this, that flu pandemic was the most lethal since the United States was formed. With an 1,800-per-day death average, the number who’ve died of COVID-19 could surpass the previous scourge by Monday.

Hard to believe that it felt like just yesterday that news publications like Time magazine were featuring a 200,000 death toll on their cover.

Now it seems like it’s a toll that the old media has forgotten to keep counting?

The U.S. is projected to see nearly 100,000 more COVID-19 deaths between now and Dec. 1, according to the nation’s most closely watched forecasting model. But health experts say that toll could be cut in half if nearly everyone wore a mask in public spaces.

In other words, what the coronavirus has in store this fall depends on human behavior.

  • Biden gets inconclusive classified report on Covid origins

Biden gets inconclusive classified report on Covid origins

President Biden on Tuesday received a classified report from the intelligence community that was inconclusive about the origins of the novel coronavirus, including whether the pathogen jumped from an animal to a human as part of a natural process, or escaped from a lab in central China, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The intelligence community will seek within days to declassify elements of the report for potential public release, officials said.

The assessment is the result of a 90-day sprint after Biden tasked his intelligence agencies in May to produce a report “that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion” on the origins of a virus that has killed more than 4 million people globally and wrecked national economies. But despite analyzing a raft of existing intelligence and searching for new clues, intelligence officials fell short of a consensus, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the report is not yet public.

IT’S DO OR DIE! PFIZER GETS FULL APPROVAL!

PFIZER GETS APPROVAL! Up until now, the mRNA vaccine, which will be marketed as Comirnaty, was on the U.S. market under an Emergency Use Authorization that was granted by the FDA in December. Since then, more than 204 million of the Pfizer shots have been administered, according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty, for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older,” the FDA said in its announcement on Monday.

The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been authorized for emergency use in the United States since mid-December for people age 16 and older. In May, the authorization was extended to those 12 and older.

Henri cuts short COVID concert in NYC during Barry Manilow song

New York City‘s Central Park was canceled because of dangerous weather as Hurricane Henri approached the Northeast on Saturday.

The venue was billed as a vaccinated party in the USA celebrating the defeat of COVID.. Planned in advance, the timing seemed to be curious now that astronomical case counts are being realized again.

Also with Delta rampant, some questioned if it should even happy to begin with.

Planners fought through the controversy, but had another issue: Hurricane Henri..

    SEEK SHELTER

Barry Manilow began performing “Can’t Smile Without You,” as part of a medley of his hits when the announcement interrupted his performance, ordering concertgoers to immediately leave the park and seek shelter. The singer continued on, not realizing at first what was happening.

Organizers repeated over a public address for concertgoers to “calmly move to the nearest exits and proceed to areas outside of the park.”

CNN was among those who heavily hyped this event.

The event, which was aired exclusively on CNN, was produced by music executive Clive Davis in coordination with the city of New York and Live Nation. The coverage began with a preshow hosted by Anderson Cooper at 4 p.m. ET, with the concert kicking off at 5 p.m.

And the show came to a screeching halt due to a hurricane..

Mainstream report: “The Vaccinated Are Worried and Scientists Don’t Have Answers”

Anecdotes tell us what the data can’t: Vaccinated people appear to be getting the coronavirus at a surprisingly high rate. But exactly how often isn’t clear, nor is it certain how likely they are to spread the virus to others. And now, there’s growing concern that vaccinated people may be more vulnerable to serious illness than previously thought.

There’s a dearth of scientific studies with concrete answers, leaving public policy makers and corporate executives to formulate plans based on fragmented information. While some are renewing mask mandates or delaying office reopenings, others cite the lack of clarity to justify staying the course. It can all feel like a mess.

“We have to be humble about what we do know and what we don’t know,” said Tom Frieden, a former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the head of the nonprofit Resolve to Save Lives. “There are a few things we can say definitively. One is that this is a hard question to address.”

“I am vaccinated and I got COVID and it’s bad,” she said. “It’s weighing on my chest. It’s hard to breathe. One of my kids, I think, has it so far. I’m praying that the other ones are okay.”

She continued: “I’m mad, really mad, because we tried and we took precautions and we cut our exposure by a lot but we got a little bit lazy, and I think as a country we got a little lazy, and I’m really mad that my kids didn’t have to wear a mask at school. I’m pretty sure that’s where this came from. I just really hope my husband and the other ones don’t get it, because if someone has to be taken to the hospital, I can’t go with them.”
