7 EARTHQUAKES OFF THE OREGON COAST IN ONE DAY..

    No tsunamis.. no major action..
But major concerns, I’d sure say..

Scientists are quoted (http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/sizeable-earthquakes-hit-oregon-coast/nmSDs/) saying that these quakes are not a signal of anything larger to come–but I’d dare say the same people proclaiming there is nothing to fear are also the same people who say earthquake predictions cannot really be made..

    Others would disagree.

And even if nothing larger is coming, it’s a concern when 7 shakers take place in 24 hours close to the Oregon coastline..

Nestlé CEO On Bottling Water In California: ‘If I Could Increase It, I Would’

You probably heard that there’s a drought in California.

You might have heard that food and beverage mega-corporation Nestlé (as well as lots of other companies) is bottling water in the drought in California.

This is not Nestlé’s fault. This is your fault.

The article goes on to explain:

This is not Nestlé’s fault. This is your fault.

At least, that’s what Nestlé International Waters’ CEO seemed to be saying in an interview with Southern California Public Radio this week.

“If I stop bottling water tomorrow, people would buy another brand of bottled water,” Tim Brown said. “It’s driven by consumer demand, it’s driven by an on-the-go society that needs to hydrate.”

Nestlé came under attack last month, when it was revealed that the company has been bottling water from the San Bernardino National Forest under an expired permit for the past 25 years. The company has repeatedly said that its expired permit with the National Forest Service remains in good standing.

“We feel good about what we’re doing,” Brown said. “In fact, if I could increase it, I would.”

The interview was part of what seems like a bigger push by Nestlé against the idea that its business practices are related to California’s drought.

This is going to become an increasingly tough position for Nestle to maintain.. as the drought intensifies more *it is* and the circumstances become more dre *they are* Nestle may have some trouble being able to defend their business model..

I think in our modern age, it may be time to accept tap water. With a filer. And a FLUORIDE FILTER is you can get one. If you have well water, test it. If it’s not good enough to drink go with public water (FILTERED and fluoride filtered) ..

There are solutions that are safe… and plastic free.

    The Dry Age

Catastrophic California drought is having another scary side effect: Rodents are climbing trees and taking water from bird baths Learn more: »

    Everything needs water to survive..
And rodents know survival at the fittest.

    One creepy tale:

Tina O’Keefe of Dirty Rats Rodent Removal told NBC, “There’s no water source for them right now so they’re going outside to get it. They eat plants. They eat meat. They’re going to the dog park because there are water bowls. They’re going to horse stables because there’s water.”

Heron Head Park, which is situated just south of San Francisco, is one example where rats are coming out and taking water from dogs.
“This has not happened before,” Renee Dunn Martin of the Port of San Francisco told the San Francisco Chronicle.

“It’s an open space, and a natural habitat for a lot of creatures, but regarding the rats, we are definitely on top of that issue and doing our best to address it,” Dunn Martin emphasized.

It’s been said that even after nuclear strikes, cockroaches will crawl like nothing occurred..

But rodents without water? That is a scary premise for their species.

As much as it is ours..
Scary times we live in.. Dry as well.

    Much-needed aid arrives in cyclone-devastated Vanuatu »

The situation on the island is dire—food and water and shelter are all gone for a population quickly ravaged by the storm.  Ten are reported dead.. there are hints and suggestions that the number will rise as time goes on.  One pilot who was forced to land in Tanna described pure devastation, with entire communities simply flattened.

Many officials and also world citizens are relying heavily on social media to see just how bad things are—the world has been reading Tweets and other citizen reporting from the ground where the storm struck.. One Tweet described a 21-year-old sheltering a 1 week old baby even as the roof was ripped off by Cyclone PAM..

And that is how natural disasters work. They come quick, they leave fast. They leave misery in the wake.. And deaths. Injuries, but also little quips and anecdotes of miracles that seem to keep humanity hopeful just enough to clean up until the next disaster..

    JAPAN SET FOR SUPERSTORM?

    WOW..
This is superstorm, supertyphoon, hell in a spiral. It’s name is Phanfone, and it’s heading towards Japan—a nation crushed by storm after storm this season..

Waves of 50 feet are possible. Its strength is now the equivalent of a category 5 hurricane..

Few storms on earth have reached this intensity—that we are aware of at least..

At this point, this storm is now the strongest of 2014.

One worry I have: How this will impact the world’s most underreported story: Fukushima..

Yellowstone super eruption possible but will not be apocalyptic: USGS »

A volcanic super eruption at the Yellowstone National Park is possible but will not be catastrophic. Ash deposits from the eruption may impact communications system, aviation and more.

    AND MORE:

Scientists estimate that a super eruption may create an umbrella ash cloud, which can impact near as well as far away cities in the U.S. Using a so-called program Ash 3D, USGS researchers were able to estimate that cities within 300 miles from Yellowstone National Park may get covered by up to three feet of ash. Cities beyond 300 miles from the National Park may experience a few inches of ash while cities as far as New York may be covered in just less than an inch of ash.

But nothing .. end of the world-like to worry about. No apocalypse.. The USGS says—this after years of public worries that we would be doomed if Yellowstone went again, something by the way it is overdue for.

Here is what the NOT THE END OF THE WORLD would look like:

A super eruption is expected to disrupt normal life of people but it will not be apocalyptic. Water and sewage system will be blocked due to ash deposits. Communications system across North America will be obstructed. Roads may get slippery due to ash, which will make it difficult to drive. The aviation industry will also be impacted making it difficult for people to transport from one city to another.

A super eruption at the Yellowstone will make the air unsuitable for humans and animals to breathe. The crops in fields will be destroyed and the land may get unsuitable for agriculture.

Scientists say that life in North America will get affected in case a volcanic super eruption occurs, and it may take time, effort and money from government agencies to get everything back to normal.

Seems to me that it could be pretty life altering, and in a sense life ending in some instances.

And even weirder: All of these stories lately about Yellowstone, including melting roads and running bison. Seems to be a mental preparation for, oh.. well. Probably nothing.

    Move on.

Some Bay Area Residents Report Mysterious Flashes In The Sky During Napa Quake »

Several people called the KPIX 5 newsroom after Sunday morning’s magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Napa, reporting mysterious flashes of light in the sky. Witnesses said the strange phenomenon looked like lightning.

This is actually very normal—there seem to be reports around the world similar to this very incident. The CBS affiliate in San Francisco wrote this,

Friedemann Freund, a scientist with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, said the same thing happened during Sunday morning’s earthquake. And it wasn’t a transformer blowing up or UFOs.

“What they are, are a consequence of the stresses building up deep below the earth, seven miles like in the case of the Napa Valley earthquake,” Freund told KPIX 5.

Earthquake lights are an interesting phenomena.

The BBC ran a good report on the strange occurrences.. At that time, scientists were opening their minds to the possibility that these quakes happen with 5.0s are greater, and that the Fukushima quake had the same precursor .. Even more interesting concerning Fukushima: Not only were there sky quakes, but also the atmosphere ABOVE Japan heated rapidly before the 9.0 earth shattering shake that his that nation in 2011. There was the very good chance that the atmosphere was hit by the quake before the land was jolted..

While science is still investigating the potential reasons that any of this happens, we know this: The atmosphere and the land seem to go hand in hand.. and the latest 6.0 earthquake gives evidence that some things are deeper and more interesting than meet the eye..
