TIME MAGAZINE puts historic Trump photo on new cover
23 years ago, George W. Bush graced the cover of Time Magazine after 9/11 holding a flag on the rubble on the World Trade Center Towers.. It felt at the time like a game changer–for better or worse history was altered and a new path was carved..
All these years later, a new historic photo is now etched into our psyche..
Donald Trump, grazed by a bullet in an assassination attempt, now graces a new cover of TIME magazine.. The sky behind him is blue, unliked the Bush imagery of gray and billowing dust clouds.. But the flag is there in the distance, with blood flowing down Trump’s face..
In both covers, the right arm is extended high into the sky. Both in acts of defiance..
And both moments in time feel the same. While the path we embark on now as a nation is very different than it would have been, something feels like it is dramatically different and altered.
Living through history.
In 2001 the nation was just on edge as we are now–maybe even more so then. But we survived. The path worked out.

Dead Crooks
DEVELOPING..
Authorities have identified the gunman involved in the attack against former US President Donald Trump on Saturday as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene after the shooting.
The FBI named Crooks in a statement early Sunday morning, identifying him as a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania – about 35 miles south of Butler, where Trump was holding his rally.
Crooks fired on Trump while perched on a nearby building rooftop outside the rally’s security perimeter, before being killed by the Secret Service, according to law enforcement officials.
Witnesses also told media that the shooter was moving between buildings prior to the shooting..
Witnesses report alerting police and secret service agents minutes before the shooting commenced..
CNN reports that some FBI agents were surprised the apparent security lapse was this bad.. “That building… is the closest building with a clear line of sight to where the stage was. I’m shocked that they didn’t have somebody on that roof,” Chacon said.
Online sleuths are working in overdrive to find any public information, including footage that could be Crooks at graduation in Bethel Park from a few years ago.

The world was rocked tonight as Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt in Butler Pennsylvania during a campaign rally. Early reports indicate that 12,000 people were in attendance. A shooter opened fire on the former President during his speech, with at least the bullet or a fragment from Trump’s teleprompter hitting his face. Others in the crowd were injured and killed.
The FBI has called the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally Saturday night an attempted assassination.
“This evening, we had what we’re calling an assassination attempt against our former President Donald Trump. It’s still an active crime scene,” said Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, speaking at a news conference in Butler, Pennsylvania.
He said authorities are “working feverishly to attempt to identify the individual who did this and any motives behind why this was done,” and asked the public to reach out with any information that might help.

A gunman and one audience member are dead after a shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night, according to the local district attorney. Another spectator is in serious condition.
- Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage after loud bangs were heard and he fell to the ground at the start of a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night. The Secret Service says Trump is safe and under protective measures.
- It was not immediately clear what occurred, but Trump was swarmed by agents on stage after the bangs were heard. Blood could be seen on Trump’s face, and he raised a fist to the crowd as he was rushed away.

A former residence official told Axios that Jill Biden was “so protective of the president, and then Anthony just protects her, and they often wouldn’t let us do anything for them.”
“The separation between the family and the residence staff was so big, so divided,” the former official said. “It’s not supposed to be and usually isn’t, even in the Trump White House.”
