Saw this last night and loved it.. Had to rebroadcast it to the masses.

Philadelphia Chef dishes criticism on Philadelphia: On Papal Visit: ‘Didn’t Need To Close Every Street, Scaring Most People’
Now that the Pope is back in Rome, we need to take a good hard look in the mirror and wonder if the security nightmare was imposed on us or created
In Philadelphia, that look has begun
One Philadelphia chef took to Facebook to share how he felt about the planning of the massive event.
Marc Vetri writes, “We’re clearly all thrilled that Pope Francis is here. Never has there been a Pope in history that people have such admiration for while having such a gentle voice that transcends all religions and all walks of life. I can say that I was thrilled that the Pope has chosen Philadelphia to spread his message…and I remain thrilled.
My only regret is the decisions of Philadelphia leaders. Instead of engaging the citizens and businesses around this great city in welcoming the Pope, they have instead decided to roll out the red carpet for everyone making the pilgrimage, and roll us up in the carpet to place in storage until Monday. I imagine a man like this Pope would like to see Philadelphia as is. We are the fabric of this city yet it seems as if the people that make this city great were by in large… an afterthought.”

The Pope’s Excellent American Vacation comes to Philly. And then Francis met Marky Mark
The major story this week was the Papal visit.. covered here a bit too..
There remains a few last minute articles to contemplate regarding the Pope before he goes back to Rome..
Among them:
Did Philadelphia go *way* overboard with security? I know few things not mentioned in the USA TODAY article.. I would argue, based off of what I know, it was beyond overboard and almost paranoid.. Maybe they were listening to the prophecies about end times, or even the Mormons fretting about the Sunday blood moon. The pope has also showcased his energy during his excellent American adventure, but he is now wearyand walking with a limp–and caught on camera stumbling up the steps..I think people so often forget his age..
But there was one last Papal moment, at this point, that I need desreves some notes..
It’s this: Actor Mark Wahlberg hosted an event attended by Pope Francis in Philly.. He also made a joke about the raunchy movie ‘TED’ in front of Francis..
He also said “go Eagles”… tacky tacky tacky..

Pope in a Fiat
The scenes have been historic: Pope Francis travailing the streets of the United States, first in D.C. and then in New York. The City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, is on the agenda for Saturday..Before Pope Francis gets to meet Mayor Nutter, other whirlwind events have been occurring..
The media has been battling pedestrians for a shot of Pope Francis in either the famed Popemobile or now the equally famous Fiat car that the Church chose for him to travel in between armored vehicles. Francis rolled the windows down and turned the lights on, ensuring people saw him at night emulate from inside the tiny box-car vehicle..
Francis met with the families of victims of 9/11, he talked to schoolchildren in Harlem.
The jubilant crowds were euphoric. New York’s CBS affiliate quoted a number of people who saw Francis that spoke, immediately, in big statements. Such as this notable quotable:
“He’s going to bring us all back to our faith and make us all one in this universe
,” one spectator said.
With smart phone cameras held high, his very presence in Central Park stirred a wave of emotion.
“That was probably one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen,” said another spectator. “I’ve never felt closer to God in my life.”
The pope moved through the crowd and moved many to tears, offering his blessing to all and his personal touch to a fortunate few.
The pontiff then celebrated Mass at Madison Square Garden, a scene of a solemn service celebrating New York in all its diversity.
“Living in a big city is not always easy,” Francis told 18,000 people at the Garden, easily one of the most respectful crowds the arena has ever seen. “Yet big cities are a reminder of the hidden riches present in our world in the diversity of its cultures, traditions and historical experiences.”
The pope delivered the homily in Spanish, drawing a parallel between the Garden and the city itself.
As Mass
ended, Cardinal Timothy Dolan spoke the words that led to rapturous applause.
“We pray for you on Sunday and now you are here,” he told Francis.
As people left, it was clear the experience had changed lives.
“He talked about seeing the face of Christ in the people of the city,” said Sister Margaret O’Brien. “That resonated.”It’s fair to say that anyone watching is getting a sense of the historic nature of this visit. Imagine a Pope visiting a number of cities in the United States, especially one loved, admired, and often hated, throughout the world.. and that same Pontiff addressing the Congress–religious figures don’t get that chance often..
Perhaps the strangest of all circumstances thus far regarding the Pope’s visit is the now famous Congressman from Philadelphia PA who, after seeing the Pope drink from a water glass during his speech to the assembly, stole the glass. He went on to drink from it, have his family drink from it, and pour water over the heads of his children.. Congressman Bob Brady also broadcast the images over the social mediaverse.
People who have acted strange this weekend.

Congressman swipes Pope’s glass …
From PHILLY:
The pope sipped from the glass at least three times during his speech, Brady told the Daily News on Thursday night. And as the Holy Father left the chamber – and as many a legislator tried to make contact with him – the congressman calmly headed to the lectern and delicately picked up Papa Francisco’s glass, holding it by two fingers, one at the bottom of the glass and one at the rim.
Holy moly.

A horned beast before a Papal Feast?
Though the Pope is in America, it still must be a slow news day.. Or perhaps my mockery of the ‘horned President’ images is missing the paranormal boat I should be riding..
Nevertheless, here’s the gist: The Pope appeared in D.C. today with President Obama. A few images taken of the two leaders of the free-ish world showcased Obama with what appeared to be a horned-like hue around the Commander in Chief.
This sort of goes in line with past paranormal moments for President Obama.. such as the time(s) (more than one) when the President was surrounded by flies, some landing on his face and others on his hands. Or the time when he killed a fly circling his head, with his bear hands.. And perhaps the time during a speech to the nation during the prime time hours when an image, again, appeared around his head shaped with horns.
And now this moment, with the man so many consider the holiest on earth. And horns.. Surrounding the President’s head..
All on September 23..
The date of infamy that did not become infamous for the world, thankfully.Though the ‘end times’ still have time.
Let’s see how many more times horns appear around the Pope or the President before we decide Kirk Cameron’s RAPTURE is ready.
