  • The anniversary of Will Byers disappearance

The anniversary of Will Byers disappearance

Will is the son of Lonnie and Joyce Byers and the younger brother of Jonathan Byers. …

On the night of November 6th, 1983, Byers was abducted by the Demogorgon and taken into an alternate dimension dubbed the Upside Down.

For a week, Will evaded the creature while his family and friends desperately searched for him.

In the mean time, here is the way Netflix will celebrate through the day with various info drops:

COMIC CON REVELATION: David Harbour was told “Sorry man, they’re trying to bury it.’ It was clearly a terrible show” on Stranger Things

And what a mistake it would have been for the streaming service if that is close to true!

The words came from actor David Harbour at COMIC CON in New York..

Some headlines of course may be a little more animated than necessary.. this was small town from the actor and an interesting story. Netflix probably was not really going to bury the show..

While appearing at a panel during New York Comic Con on Saturday, the Black Widow actor said he was going to “throw Paul Wesley under the bus” with a revelation from one of their past conversations.

“So about two weeks before the show I was like, ‘There’s still no ads, man, like buses and phone, there’s no ads,’ and he [Paul] was like, ‘Sorry man, they’re trying to bury it.’ It was clearly a terrible show,” Harbour revealed to NYCC attendees.

After that conversation with The Vampire Diaries star, Harbour told the audience a sense of panic started to set in.

“I was like, ‘Oh no, man. I blew it. I had like one of the leads on a Netflix show, and I blew it, we all blew it,’” recalled Harbour.

“I think one of the things that people love about it, and it’s so hard to have in today’s culture, is you discovered it,” said Harbour. “I mean, like, you didn’t hear much about it, and you just sort of were playing around on Netflix and … people were like, ‘Oh this looks kind of good,’ and there was a sense of discovery about it. That was brilliant.”

“I mean, the funny thing about us is that the whole thing has changed so much, right? And yet when we get together on set, it’s like the first day of the first season, where they’re afraid of me because I’m an angry New York actor, and they’re little kids,” Harbour told the crowd. “So that has been preserved.”

“And I think we all have that relationship where we’ve been [through] so much that when we get on set together, it still feels like day one. It still feels very creative,” he continued. “The hoopla around us when we step off that stage is insane … but for those kids … what I do like is that they are grounded enough to be [the same] when we are on set working on the show.”

“Everybody loves the show still,” Harbour added. “We love the creators and we love our characters, and we love each other and we feel like a family. We could have big special effects and all that stuff, but we’d miss that thing that to me is really what the show is about. So that’s very much preserved.”

Perhaps if the show was named something else, Netflix however would have buried it.. David Harbour, who signed to play Hopper when the show was going to be called Montauk, initially hated the new title Stranger Things and begged the Duffers to change it.

  • THE LONG WAIT FOR ELEVEN

    THE LONG WAIT FOR ELEVEN

Netflix finally dropped a new promotional ad for STRANGER THINGS 4 — but it wasn’t much to see..

    You can judge for yourself;

The ‘teaser’ was more of a clip-by-clip rehash of seasons 1 through 3–even a little promo was included to remind viewers that those first three seasons were still on Netflix..

But the real news, if there is any, is a very much alive and thinner Hopper holding what appears to be a weapon in one second of the clip, and Eleven with long hair …

The show will be dropping in 2022.

    That’s right, 2022.

The biggest obstacle Netflix may now face is lack of interest.

With the crew from Hawkins aging quickly, how much more can these delays do to hurt a potential season 5? Or ..is four it and then the branch off shows with side characters and other stories?

As always we will happily watch season 4. But .. it sure gets tough waiting when the last time we saw the gang was Fourth of July so many years ago now.

STRANGER THINGS live action show gets hit with COVID-19 lawsuit from demogorgon

An actor in California who appeared in a live-action Stranger Things experience, is suing Netflix and other defendants for failing to provide adequate COVID-19 work conditions.

Timothy Hearl, who played an alternate dimension Demogorgon monster on Stranger Things: The Drive Into Experience, is the first actor to sue entertainment employers over COVID-19 working conditions in the January 15 suit he filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Netflix, Empyrean Production Services, Redrock Entertainment Services LLC, Fever Labs Inc. and Secret Group U.S. Inc are named as defendants in the case.

Hearl was required to wear a costume for the monster role, complaining to superiors in work emails about safety before he was reassigned to play a character who wore a hazmat suit. The lawsuit states that Hearl expressed concern about being exposed to COVID-19 while at the indoor rehearsals..

Hearl and other actors would learn that they had been replaced after complaining, with the company firing him for what they say was “making women uncomfortable.”

According to published reports, Hearl now fears that he’ll be blacklisted from the industry because of the allegations, the suit states. He had to out himself as a gay man, which prompted defendants to then change their reasoning for firing him to ‘due to client’s request,’ the lawsuit reads. The actor has suffered depression, pain, humiliation, severe emotional distress, trauma and sleeplessness. Hearl is seeking unspecified damages, according to the suit…
