    Dreamweaver Gary Wright dead at 80

    The “Dream Weaver” musician died after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. TMZ first reported the news, which was also shared by Wright’s friends.

    The composer’s son, Justin Wright, said that his father died at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California, on Monday morning, Sept. 4.

    The news came approximately six years after the “Love Is Alive” singer was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and not long after, with dementia.

    Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell has died at age 56 after entering hospice care at his home, multiple outlets reported Monday.  

    The New York Times and Rolling Stone both reported that Harwell died Monday, several days after entering hospice to prepare for his end of life. 

    Band manager Robert Hayes told Rolling Stone that Harwell died at his Boise, ID home “surrounded by family and friends,” and “passed peacefully and comfortably.”

    Bob Barker, the “Price Is Right” host whose silky-smooth command, impish sense of humor and advocacy for animal welfare issues made him a beloved fixture on television for more than 35 years, has died. He was 99.”

    For 35 years, Barker was the host of the classic CBS game show that asks players to bid on such items as a pack of gum, a popcorn popper and a luggage lock in hopes of winning, as its announcers trumpet, “A BRAND NEW CAR!” 

    The show, which had a nine-year run in the ’50s and ‘60s with Bill Cullen, returned in 1972 with Barker. He stayed for 35 years, passing the mic to comedian Drew Carey in 2007. 

    Barker earned 19 Emmys and a lifetime achievement award in the process.

    Some of the more scandalous moments in Barker’s life are being omitted from the tributes as he passed away just about at 100..

    But equally important to generation X and millennials: it was Bob Barker that became the symbol of the sick day. The summer day. The Price is Right with his voice was a soundtrack to childhood and coming of age moments somewhere in time.

    Director William Friedkin, best known for his Oscar-winning “The French Connection” and blockbuster “The Exorcist,” died Monday in Los Angeles. He was 87.

    His death was confirmed by Chapman University dean Stephen Galloway, a friend of Friedkin’s wife Sherry Lansing

    His final film, “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial,” starring Kiefer Sutherland, is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

    Paul Ruebens, known for playing Pee-Wee Herman, has unfortunately passed away at the age of 70 after a private battle with cancer.

    “Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years,” wrote Reubens in a statement posted to Instagram after his death. “I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.”

    “Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness,” wrote Reubens’ estate in the caption. “Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”

    DEATH OF SUPERSTAR: BILLY GRAHAM DEAD AT 79

    Pro wrestling legend “Superstar” Billy Graham has died, World Wrestling Entertainment says.

    He was just short of his 80th birthday.

    Graham, whose real name was Eldridge Wayne Coleman, was born on June 7, 1943 in Phoenix.

    Graham’s “flashy fashion style, over-the-top interviews and bodybuilder physique created the archetype for a generation of Superstars that followed in his footsteps,” WWE says.

    He was, according to WWE, “perhaps the single-most influential performer in WWE history whose interviews, fashion and physique inspired Hulk Hogan, Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura and Scott Steiner.”

    It notes that his “greatest WWE achievement” was taking the WWE championship from fellow wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino in April 1977. He held onto the title for almost a year.
