Long time producer of Ground Zero with Clyde lewis, Ron Patton, has died

Some very sad news is coming from the Ground Zero family.

Rumors of the passing of longtime Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis Executive Producer Ron Patton began circulating across social media today. Sadly, Ground Zero has now officially confirmed that Patton passed away peacefully following a short battle with cancer.

For those of us who have listened to Ground Zero over the years, Ron Patton may have primarily been known as the man behind the scenes alongside Clyde Lewis. But his career and his importance to independent media went much further.

Patton spent more than three decades working in independent media as a publisher, writer, researcher, editor and producer. Among his many projects, he published Endure to the End, created MKzine, produced ConspiraZine Radio, and became publisher of Paranoia Magazine.

But perhaps his most notable and lasting role was as Executive Producer of Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis.

And according to Ground Zero’s remembrance of him, Ron wasn’t simply Clyde’s producer or colleague.

He was also Clyde Lewis’s best friend.

Their friendship became intertwined with the history of Ground Zero itself. There were times when the program’s future was uncertain and walking away might have been the easier option. Ron was apparently one of the people who refused to let that happen. He continued developing ideas, searching for ways to keep the program alive and, perhaps most importantly, continued believing in Clyde and what Ground Zero meant to its listeners.

Many listeners probably never realized just how much of the program they heard night after night had Ron Patton’s fingerprints on it.

The news is especially heartbreaking considering everything the Ground Zero family has already been enduring. Clyde Lewis has been dealing with his own serious health struggles and continues attempting to recover. Now, in the midst of that battle, he has lost not only his longtime Executive Producer but one of his closest friends.

Ron had also been fighting his own serious health problems. For months, supporters rallied around him and his family, including through a GoFundMe established to help with his medical expenses. More recently, his family announced that he had entered hospice care.

There are people behind every long-running radio program whose voices we may rarely hear and whose faces we may not immediately recognize, but without them the program simply wouldn’t be what it is.

Our thoughts are with Ron Patton’s family, Clyde Lewis, the entire Ground Zero team and everyone who knew and loved him.

May Ron Patton rest in peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in knowing that the work he spent decades creating will continue to be heard and remembered.

    Rest in peace..

  • The master of the universe:  Roger Sweet dead at 91

The master of the universe:  Roger Sweet dead at 91

A few months ago, it was widely reported that Roger Sweet, one of the people who helped create the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series in the 1980s, was battling dementia in a nursing home and had a GoFundMe set up to help with his medical costs.

Today, it is being widely reported that he has now passed away at the age of 91 from dementia. His wife, Marlene, was quoted in various sources saying he died peacefully.

Roger was one of the key figures behind the creation of the toy line and was also involved with bringing the cartoon to life, helping create a phenomenon that has lived on with fans ever since… and now with a new movie coming out in June of this year.

Hopefully, in some regard, he was able to know that his creation was going to become a movie in 2026… but dementia itself is cruel and awful.
Life goes in funny ways. Roger lived a long life, and he gave a lot of people amazing things that we would not have had without his creation.
    May he rest in peace.

Here’s video from Powercon several years ago featuring Roger..

  • David Wilcock dead in Colorado

    David Wilcock dead in Colorado

A death investigation out of Boulder County is beginning to ripple through paranormal and conspiracy communities, and the name now being attached to it is one that many will immediately recognize.

It’s being reported that the individual involved is David Wilcock… a longtime figure in ufology and alternative research circles who, for years, carved out a unique and sometimes controversial presence in the space.

Wilcock wasn’t your traditional boots-on-the-ground investigator. He was something different… a researcher, a speaker, a filmmaker, and a New York Times bestselling author known for The Source Field Investigations. He reached a wide audience through appearances on Coast to Coast AM and recurring segments on Ancient Aliens, and later co-hosted Cosmic Disclosure on Gaia. He was controversial even among thr fringe of the conspiracy circles..

His ideas pushed boundaries, sometimes far beyond what even seasoned followers were comfortable with. Claims of telepathic extraterrestrial contact, discussions of hidden technologies, and even suggestions that he was the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce placed him firmly in a category that drew both devoted followers and sharp critics.

At one point, he was also tied to Stavatti Aerospace, serving in a role that connected him to discussions of advanced propulsion systems, next-generation aircraft, and experimental aerospace concepts… the kind of topics that blur the line between speculation and possibility.
And now, with reports pointing toward suicide, the reaction has been immediate and divided.
Some of his supporters are already questioning the official narrative… which, given his history and the nature of the subjects he explored, isn’t entirely surprising. In these communities, skepticism runs deep, and when someone so closely tied to controversial ideas dies suddenly, speculation tends to follow.

But there’s another side to this that can’t be ignored.

Suicide is complicated. It’s unpredictable. And it’s often invisible until it isn’t. No matter how public someone’s life may seem… no matter how confident, outspoken, or even polarizing they are… what’s happening beneath the surface is something very few people ever truly see.
Right now, this is still an active situation with limited confirmed details. And while theories will inevitably circulate, the reality is that a life has been lost… and that alone deserves a moment of pause.

For those who followed his work, whether you believed it, questioned it, or fell somewhere in between… this is one of those moments where the noise fades a bit, and what’s left is something much more human.

We’ll continue to follow this story as more information becomes available.

  • Ed Dames dead

    Ed Dames dead

The famed remote viewer Ed Dames, you might know him from the kill shot or being a frequent guest on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell back in the 1990s and 2000s as George Noory took the show over.

Dames has passed away, the information comes from Coast to Coast and it says that he died on March 27th of this year.

Dames has been a controversial figure, a lot of people have felt he was a complete fraud while others paid him money to learn how to remote view.

It’s clear that Art Bell made him famous. But seriousness or accuracy aside, it was the 90s and it was always a great show when Dames was on…

Dames was a retired U.S. Army intelligence officer who was connected to the government’s Stargate Project, a Cold War era program that explored the idea of psychic spying, also known as remote viewing. While that sounds like something straight out of a movie, the program itself was real and was eventually shut down in the mid 1990s after it failed to produce reliable or actionable intelligence.

Dames positioned himself as one of the leading figures in remote viewing and went on to teach it and promote it publicly, especially through his many appearances on Coast to Coast AM. His most well known claim was the “kill shot,” a catastrophic solar event he warned would one day devastate Earth, though the prediction was made repeatedly over the years without ever coming to pass.

To some he was a whistleblower of hidden knowledge, to others a man capitalizing on mystery and fear, but either way he became one of the most recognizable voices tied to remote viewing and end of the world predictions during that era.

Regardless of his reputation and background he has left the Earth at this time and he is now viewing us all from a different location if there is a different location that we go to.

May he rest in peace and during his lifetime at least despite all of the warnings and dreadful predictions, he never saw the kill shot.

    But it made him famous.
