We loved him!
Richard Riehle, Beloved Character Actor, Dies at 78..
Sad news out of Hollywood today as veteran character actor Richard Riehle has passed away at the age of 78. You may not have immediately recognized his name, but you certainly recognized his face. With more than 400 film and television credits, Riehle appeared in everything from Casino and The Fugitive to Bridesmaids, Grounded for Life, and Star Trek. But for many of us, he’ll always be Tom Smykowski from the 1999 comedy classic Office Space, the man who gave us the unforgettable Jump to Conclusions mat.
He was in a number of other projects over the many years ..
Riehle reportedly died of natural causes on October 15 in Los Angeles. He was one of those character actors who could show up for just a few minutes and somehow steal the entire scene..
And as we learned in Office Space, he was a people person. He liked people. And we liked him.
May he rest in peace.
