The Weather Channel wants us to get ready to eat dinner in the dark. Or they are warning us about an impending societal collapse.

… you just can’t win on the socials…

A lot of conspiracy-minded folks are a bit in a tizzy about a Weather Channel social media blitz today reminding people that we’re about to set our clocks back. The Weather Channel said to get used to eating dinner in the pitch black, along with the song “The Sound of Silence,” performed by Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon, playing in the background on their TikTok and other social media feeds.

It’s a poignant and stark reminder of the upcoming winter season and the time of darkness that we enter. But because we are who we are now, conspiracy theories are arising that The Weather Channel knows something we don’t. That they’re trying to prepare us for a mass blackout of the power grid or some sort of massive event in which people die by the millions due to darkness. Thrown in there for good measure is the Mountain Dew flavor Pitch Black, because apparently Mountain Dew may know something too.

Of course, the reality of the situation is that Daylight Saving Time ends on November 1, 2026, and we’re going to be setting our clocks back one hour. That means the sun will be setting earlier, the evenings will be darker, and many of us will be eating dinner with absolutely no sunlight coming through the windows. It’s something that happens every single year, and The Weather Channel seems to have simply found a rather melancholy and humorous way to remind everyone of it. There’s no evidence that they’re warning us about a massive power grid failure, an impending catastrophe, or the deaths of millions of people.

It’s interesting on social media, in the era we live in, you can’t do much without others reading way into things. A simple reminder about the clocks changing has somehow turned into a possible warning about the end of civilization. A song about silence suddenly becomes a clue, the words “pitch black” become a warning, and a Mountain Dew flavor somehow gets thrown into the mix as though the people making soft drinks are sitting on some sort of classified information about the future of humanity.

Perhaps if The Weather Channel warns us about eating dinner in bright light in the spring, people may worry it’s about an impending solar flare that will destroy the planet.

You can Beam us up! The conformity gaters are leaving the door open way more than 3 in

We keep wanting to believe but every time it never happens

Conformity Gate is rearing its head again. This time there are rumors all over the place about an October 23rd date involving Stranger Things that has the Conformity Gaters opening the door three inches or more. However, it seems pretty benign when we look into the situation.

A video making the rounds on social media, including TikTok and X, has some fans wondering whether something big is about to happen on Friday, October 23, 2026. The video features what appears to be a Japanese version of the Stranger Things universe, with characters reminiscent of the familiar Hawkins gang and a movie theater setting. More importantly, there’s a ticket advertising a Stranger Things tenth-anniversary screening on October 23 at 7 p.m.

Naturally, for those still holding out hope that Conformity Gate is real, this has become another potential clue that the story isn’t quite finished.

But calm down!

The video is actually connected to a legitimate collaboration between Netflix’s Stranger Things and BEAMS HEART, a Japanese fashion brand. On October 19, BEAMS announced a special collection celebrating the show’s tenth anniversary, with clothing and merchandise inspired by Hawkins, the Demogorgon, Scoops Ahoy, the Hellfire Club, and other familiar elements from the series.

The theme of the collaboration is called “Hawkins Theater 2026 — A Reunion Screening After 10 Years.” And here’s the important part: October 23, 2026, is the official release date for the merchandise collection…

The theatrical imagery, the anniversary ticket, and the date all fit into this promotional campaign. The collection will be sold through BEAMS’ online store and select Japanese locations. The company is also promoting the collection ahead of November 6, which is officially Stranger Things Day.

In other words, this isn’t some mysterious advertisement that appeared out of nowhere. There is an actual explanation for it, and it doesn’t involve Netflix announcing a sixth season, a secret finale, or a different ending to the story. At least nothing in the official announcement suggests any of those things.

We understand why people are getting excited. Stranger Things has always been a show filled with mysteries, hidden clues, and little details that eventually mean something. And after all the Conformity Gate speculation, fans are understandably going to examine anything that looks remotely suspicious. An anniversary movie ticket with a specific date and time? Of course that’s going to get people talking. But sometimes a movie ticket is just a movie ticket, even when it’s advertising something in Hawkins.

So while we’re not necessarily saying case closed, it’s fun to get invigorated by these types of mysteries. But if we are the Scooby Gang, I think we’d move on to the next masked figure and count this Conformity Gate potential as not a real thing.

And this time, when we pull off the mask, it appears to be a Japanese clothing company.

Christina Applegate says she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis!

Talk about an unbelievable headline. Actress Christina Applegate, who has spent the last five years publicly battling multiple sclerosis, has revealed that she apparently never had the disease in the first place.

The 54-year-old actress, best known for Married… with Children and Dead to Me, made the shocking announcement on her MeSsy podcast, explaining that doctors recently informed her she had been misdiagnosed. Since revealing her original diagnosis in 2021, Applegate has become a prominent advocate for people suffering from MS, openly discussing her struggles with chronic pain, mobility issues, and the devastating impact the illness has had on her career and personal life. Now, after years of treatments and believing she understood what was happening to her body, she’s being told something entirely different.

What’s particularly heartbreaking about this story is that Applegate isn’t suddenly feeling better. She’s still dealing with debilitating symptoms, still struggling to walk, and still relying on wheelchairs when necessary.

While those around her celebrated the news that she didn’t have MS, Applegate admitted she wasn’t happy at all. She’s now back at square one, with doctors trying to determine what’s actually wrong. It’s almost impossible to imagine spending five years fighting a disease, having your entire life turned upside down, only to discover that the diagnosis was incorrect and you still have no answers.
