No better way to go back to the movies than with horror!

The Oscars never credit the genre.. The critics ignore it.

But so often horror unites us together.. we can scream together.. laugh together.. get angry together. And be scared together.

And after the past year, we have sure been scared. So why not do it together again in a movie theater..

A QUIET PLACE II is promising to do just that..

Emily Blunt And John Krasinski’s is paving the way for film to return to the theater.

    The trailer has dropped in:

    From the press:

Picking up after the chaotic events of A Quiet Place, the Paramount sequel sees the surviving members of the Abbott family leaving the comfort of the farm they called home. As creatures still stalk the wilderness, Evelyn (Emily Blunt,) Reagan (Millicent Simmonds,) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) venture into uncharted territory. With the family’s latest addition of a newborn in tow, the danger factor is just a little higher this time around, in a world where sound could equal death. The sequel also introduces some new humans (Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou,) who are still rather mysterious, but look to be forces of good, as Evelyn tries to convince them that finding other survivors is the only way to stay alive.

We have not seen numbers like this in months, but there are some indications that A QUIET PLACE II may earn as much as $60 to $80 mil Memorial Day Weekend.

After a year of shuddered theaters and closed down box offices, that is immense cash.

It will be fascinating to see how many head to theaters. Some are banking on a gigantic return on investment.. others ponder the possibilities.

But regardless of the venue, filmmakers want to makey the money.. that’s the name of the game.

So in that light, 45 days after opening A Quiet Place: Part II will be headed to Paramount +

They have you covered. . .

New Super Bowl ad shows how dull they can be.. but at least this one features a fictional horror star from THE RING

Super Bowl ad features stars and cartoon characters, even Samara from the RING.. all to advertise Paramount+, yet another streaming service.

This time, Patrick Stewart told all of the stars to dance and say “we are metaphors.”

There is something sad about this commercial, almost like a viewpoint from a corporate ivory tower … you are owed, the stars are being told. We will tell you what to do and tell you how we will sell you.

It is unclear who the target audience is for this ad–but it will most likely be ridiculed as one of the flattest when it comes to humor and saddest when it comes to innovation. Nothing cutting edge.. nothing biting. Nothing real.

The only one that appears to be happy is Samara slowly dancing while a freaked out Beavis and Butthead remain speechless..

  • NOT SO FINAL DESTINATION

    NOT SO FINAL DESTINATION

GET READY! The year 2000 is about to come back to haunt you like never before.. remind you of death.. the falling logs. The crashing planes. The windows from high above ready to smoosh your body into oblivion.

From The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER this weekend,
    THIS:

New Line is gearing up for another trip with Death. The company is restarting its Final Destination horror franchise, hiring scary movie mavens Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to pen the script. Final Destination proved to be a cornerstone for New Line’s horror business in the early 2000s. The first movie, released in 2000, set up the concept: a character has a premonition of a horrific and deadly event, cheats his or her own death and saves several other lives in the process, only to have Death, as a personified but unstoppable force, come for the survivors one by one.

Hard to believe that the year 2000 is already almost 20 years ago. This film has been one of the few from the early 2000s that stuck around in popularity, but at the same time shocking to think of how long it has been since this has been in theaters.

Will a reboot work? IS THERE A NEED FOR ANOTHER REBOOT of something that has not yet aged a full two decades? And finally… does Hollywood have a horror idea that isn’t something that the previous century created..?
No on the final question.Unknown on the others.
