    COVID-19.. AND 20.. AND 21.. AND 22

Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky told CNBC on Tuesday that annual COVID shots may be necessary…

While some have pondered few have spoken about the need for regular COVID vaccines..

“Unfortunately, as [the virus] spreads it can also mutate,” he told CNBC’s Meg Tirrell during a Healthy Returns Spotlight event. “Every time it mutates, it’s almost like another click of the dial so to speak where we can see another variant, another mutation that can have an impact on its ability to fend off antibodies or to have a different kind of response not only to a therapeutic but also to a vaccine.”

Meanwhile, other vaccine related news is making rounds.. there are fears that some who received the Moderna shot have developed a rare blood disorder. While more investigation and medical research is necessary, the New York TIMES article about the possibility have caused alarm.. Denise Grady writes of the fear, but the battle against bad data:

More than 31 million people in the United States have received at least one dose, and 36 similar cases had been reported to the government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, VAERS, by the end of January. The cases involved either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, the only two authorized so far for emergency use in the United States. But the reporting system shows only problems described by health care providers or patients after vaccination, and does not indicate whether the shots actually caused the problems.

The AP report on a poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. It found that while 67% of Americans plan to get vaccinated or have already done so, 15% are certain they won’t and 17% say probably not. Many expressed doubts about the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness..

Finally, there is news on the long haulers–those who have had COVID but cannot shake long term problems since diagnosis.. POST-COVID brain: Problems remembering names and conversations, difficulty paying attention, and slower processing speeds — these are all symptoms that people are experiencing post-COVID-19 infections..

Finally, if you want to try staying beautiful for a future in which society (maybe) will open again, “Maskne” is your latest fear. Doctors are reporting an increase in acne around the face mask area on people who never experienced it before..

Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot less effective against South African variant

    AP:

British drugmaker AstraZeneca said on Saturday its vaccine developed with the University of Oxford appeared to offer only limited protection against mild disease caused by the South African variant of COVID-19, based on early data from a trial.

The study from South Africa’s University of the Witwatersrand and Oxford University showed the vaccine had significantly reduced efficacy against the South African variant, according to a Financial Times report published earlier in the day.

Among coronavirus variants currently most concerning for scientists and public health experts are the so-called British, South African and Brazilian variants, which appear to spread more swiftly than others.

“In this small phase I/II trial, early data has shown limited efficacy against mild disease primarily due to the B.1.351 South African variant,” an AstraZeneca spokesman said in response to the FT report.

The newspaper said none of the more than 2,000 trial participants had been hospitalized or died.

Just days ago, it was reported that more than 4,000 variants are making their way around the planet ..

“Its very unlikley that the current vaccine won’t be effective on the variants whether in Kent or other variants especially when it comes to severe illness and hospitalization,” Vaccine Deployment Minister Nadhim Zahawi told Sky News in the UK..

“All manufacturers, Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca and others are looking at how they can improve their vaccine to make sure that we are ready for any variant – there are about 4,000 variants around the world of COVID now.”

Dark Winter: The Snowstorm photo from NYC that you won’t forget

Several days ago, REDDIt user fielding24 posted a photo of New York City during the most recent snowstorm.. It was immediately heavily shared and comments have labeled the picture as one of the greatest ever.. One poignant user wrote, “Eerie isn’t it. A game based on a devastating pandemic in NYC during the middle of winter and here we are.”

The photo is remarkable for a few reasons..

It features the beauty and grit of New York along with once busy streets tampered down by a snowstorn.. and the ambulance reminds us also of the virus. A virus that created space on sidewalks long prior to the blizzard of 2021.

To the Reddit user’s credit, it truly is like the cover of a video game about a pandemic in a end times scenario..

Another REDDIT user said, “Was walking back from work (tv studio) with my kids the other day, we walked about 2 blocks in midtown passing literally nobody, no cars, no people, nothing, at 3 pm on a weekday. My daughter flapped her arms around and whispered to me, ‘are we still on set?’”

    And one more,

“If it wasn’t for this picture, I’d have a hard time imagining NYC with nearly empty streets. Just doesn’t seem possible”

Not only possible but evident and real..

This photo has no name. But to correspond it with realty, perhaps the perfect fitting label would be titled: “Dark Winter, New York.”

STRANGER THINGS live action show gets hit with COVID-19 lawsuit from demogorgon

An actor in California who appeared in a live-action Stranger Things experience, is suing Netflix and other defendants for failing to provide adequate COVID-19 work conditions.

Timothy Hearl, who played an alternate dimension Demogorgon monster on Stranger Things: The Drive Into Experience, is the first actor to sue entertainment employers over COVID-19 working conditions in the January 15 suit he filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Netflix, Empyrean Production Services, Redrock Entertainment Services LLC, Fever Labs Inc. and Secret Group U.S. Inc are named as defendants in the case.

Hearl was required to wear a costume for the monster role, complaining to superiors in work emails about safety before he was reassigned to play a character who wore a hazmat suit. The lawsuit states that Hearl expressed concern about being exposed to COVID-19 while at the indoor rehearsals..

Hearl and other actors would learn that they had been replaced after complaining, with the company firing him for what they say was “making women uncomfortable.”

According to published reports, Hearl now fears that he’ll be blacklisted from the industry because of the allegations, the suit states. He had to out himself as a gay man, which prompted defendants to then change their reasoning for firing him to ‘due to client’s request,’ the lawsuit reads. The actor has suffered depression, pain, humiliation, severe emotional distress, trauma and sleeplessness. Hearl is seeking unspecified damages, according to the suit…

Here is a video of just what the drive in experience was like:

  • COVID-19 cases suddenly dropping globally. Why?

COVID-19 cases suddenly dropping globally. Why?

Now before anyone labels this article “fake news” or tries reporting it on social media for some violation of some rule, let us first say this: COVID-19 is real, it is true, and it is still affecting people in big ways. I have personal experiences with family who are very close.. I know. The crisis is not over and we have many more challenges before it is.

That said, something baffling appears to be happening…

Cases are rising in just 6 states in the United States right now. The other 44 are seeing drops..Not only that, but hospitalizations are falling and so are case counts globally..

And this without the vaccine being in a huge segment of the population.. This without herd immunity..

There are mainstream reports stating that experts are a little baffled by the sudden drop in numbers.. Maybe, a few ponder, it shows that much more of the population actually had the virus and didn’t even know..

Some facts: Daily cases have dropped 45 percent since the latest peak on January 11, according to data from the COVID-19 Tracking Project . There were 131,341 new cases reported on Wednesday.. The decline appears to be a global phenomenon, with new infections falling worldwide for the past three weeks in a row, the World Health Organization said Monday ..

    What has changed?

Perhaps the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years surge really increased the cases and now with those concluding the numbers are falling? But the more highly contagious UK variant is still set to become the dominant strain soon, so this drop could be a false hope?

That said.. other factors have not changed. It is still winter. Vitamin D levels are still low.. there should not be this dramatic of a drop taking place as the setting of the viral spread stays the same as when it was spiraling out of control.

From the UK DAILY MAIL report,

Public health experts believe that the decline in cases is likely a combination of a higher number of people who’ve had the virus than official counts suggest – meaning as many as 90 million people have antibodies against the virus – and fewer people traveling and holding gatherings than did over the winter holidays.

It’s not just the U.S., however. The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday it has also seen declining new infections globally over the past three weeks. Our World in Data graphs show the daily infection rate has fallen by 30 percent in that period.

But Director-General Tedros Adhanom warned against relaxing restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus on the heels of the good news.

‘Over the past year, there have been moments in almost all countries when cases declined, and governments opened up too quickly, and individuals let down their guard, only for the virus to come roaring back,’ he said.

There is one other factor not being stated: People may not be either going for as many tests as they were initially despite having the virus, or perhaps testing itself is not keeping up with the virus?

Many theories that have abounded about why the case count is dropping so swiftly state that the virus is still spreading at the same rapid pace, but testing just is not accurate.

One other number providing a fly in that ointment are the hospital numbers. They seem to be falling as well. Have we peaked?

Meanwhile, some are warning not to ease restrictions despite the drops, because it could equal another surge..

We are the HORROR REPORT, so we include angles most mainstream sources don’t.

While this drop in cases certainly does not equate to the virus being vanquished from our world, it does bring up an interesting memory of the early pandemic days just about a year ago at this time.

When the first outbreak and lockdowns began to rifle their way through global society, a fearful world looked to physics for some form of prediction. One famous prediction was uncovered by a book called END OF DAYS written in 2008 by the late and some may argue great or not so great Sylvia Browne.

    Remember that book?

And remember her? She had a track record of helping law enforcement, but also having some huge embarrassments :

In her book END OF DAYS, Browne wrote this about what could happen in 2020:

In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments.

“Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it has arrived, attack again 10 years later, and then disappear completely.”

The claim was discounted by most sources in 2020. But SNOPES was forced to call the claim a “mixture.” Meanwhile other sources reported point blank, that the despite the specific 2020 prediction in her book, Sylvia Browne did not predict COVID-19.

Controversy followed Sylvia Browne in life.. and now additionally in death.

A few months ago, the YouTube channel G TEAM PARANORMAL INVESTIGATORS tried contacting Browne from beyond the grave about her COVID predictions.. this video will provide entertainment for your end of days:

WHOA TO Wuhan.. grieving resident says ‘don’t be fooled’

Zhang Hai has a warning to World Health Organization-led scientists researching the origin of the coronavirus in Wuhan, China: Don’t be fooled.

“If you only work behind the doors with government officials, going to places and reading documents arranged by them, you will be easily fooled,” said Zhang, who said his father died in February 2020 after going into a hospital for a routine fracture operation and contracting the virus.

As the WHO team of scientists began its field work into the origins of Covid-19 in Wuhan on Friday, Zhang is among a group of bereaved Chinese families seeking an audience with the international experts.

They accuse the authorities of concealing information about the virus at the start of the outbreak, which has since killed more than 2 million people globally, and want answers.

“If the WHO dances to their tune, the government will have a good excuse to reject the family members of dead patients that are trying to hold the government accountable,” said Zhang, who was born in Wuhan and now lives in Shenzhen

The variants are changing everything! Perhaps those posters have to be re-printed

For a year now, posters have graced all public places and government facilities, airports and restaurants (that are still open).. how to prepare for COVID-19! the cough! the gasps! The sore throats.

New variants are re-writing the rules of engagement with the virus..

Confirmed with many people have said for months, the warning signs are not always clear. Sometimes no fever.. no cough.. just loss of taste, weeks of headaches, and numbness of feet or hands..

Changes to the tongue, the hands or the soles of the feet could give an early indication of Covid-19 infection, Spanish researchers found in a study presented on Tuesday.

The conclusions emerged from research carried out among 666 patients with Covid-19 at Madrid’s IFEMA field hospital set up during the first wave of the pandemic, the regional government said.

One in four patients said they had noticed changes to their tongue, while four out of 10 spotted unusual signs on the palms of their hands or soles of their feet.

British media, plagued with the new variant, is warning its nation about the 6 warning signs to watch for: While cough and fever remain, now included are rashes, tiredness, and headaches..

Fauci was ‘knocked out’ by second dose of Covid vaccine

Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government’s top infectious-disease expert, said he suffered mild side effects after receiving a second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“I was hoping that I wouldn’t get too knocked out. I did for about 24 hours. Now I’m fine,” he said at a White House event Thursday.

Fauci, an adviser to President Joe Biden on Covid-19, said he felt fatigued and achy, “not sick.”

The mild side effects are consistent with what vaccine manufacturers reported in their clinical trials, and are signs of the body’s immune response to the inoculation.

    MORE..

After several people had apparent allergic reactions at one California clinic, state health officials on Sunday told providers across the state to pause administering doses from one COVID-19 vaccine lot that arrived from Moderna.

The move, made “out of an extreme abundance of caution,” means that 330,000 doses distributed to 287 providers across the state can’t be used amid an already slow vaccine rollout.

“A higher-than-usual number of possible allergic reactions were reported with a specific lot of Moderna vaccine administered at one community vaccination clinic,” California State Epidemiologist Dr. Erica Pan said.

More than three quarters of coronavirus patients have at least one ongoing symptom six months after initially becoming unwell, according to a new study.

The research looked at the long-term effects of Covid-19 on people admitted to hospital in Wuhan, China, and found that the most common symptom to persist is fatigue or muscle weakness, in 63% of patients.

Patients also frequently experience sleep difficulties (26%), and anxiety or depression was reported among 23% of patients, according to the study.

Researchers found patients who were severely ill in hospital more often had impaired lung function and abnormalities detected in chest imaging – which could indicate organ damage – six months after symptom onset.
