    The movie Halloween kills, coming out this October, is promising to be the ultimate bloodbath of Michael Myers movies.. it is being heralded by horror sites and advertised by John Carpenter as a true slasher of epic gory proportions.. 

    If you like that..

    But the final Halloween, set tentatively for October 2022, is apparently going to take a different route.

    Malek Akkad says it will be “way more contained.”

    David Gordon Green similarly teases in the magazine’s new issue, “I get engaged by doing something different. If I was just going to be repetitive, I would hand the reins off to someone else. When you have that opportunity within an established franchise, it’s really fun to think about how you can show different tones and perspectives and evolve.”

    As for Jamie Lee Curtis, who will be back as Laurie Strode in Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, she tells Total Film that the latter movie is likely the last time she’ll play the character.

    “I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her,” Curtis notes. “And I’m not saying something like, ‘Oh, because I die!’ It’s nothing to do with that. I’m talking about emotionally what they have constructed.

    “I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy.”

    A post on Twitter from the Friday the 13th franchise brought back memories.. That dreaded Michael Myers mask from Halloween H20..

    It clearly was one of the weirdest and worst.. the eyes too big.. the chiseled jaw line.. the strange computerized appearance it took on.

    The film was a mixture of hits and misses–mostly misses.. John Carpenter thankfully recused it with his re-do in 2018, and subsequent sequel that was delayed until October 2021..

    On the 20th anniversary of the 20th Anniversary of the original Halloween, 2019, an article in Screen Rant had an explanation of sorts:

    Though there have been some questionable changes made to the mask Michael Myers wears in the Halloween franchise over the years, H20‘s mask stands out a cut above the rest – and not in a good way. In H20, there were four different masks used in various scenes and stages of production. This is different from all the other films in the franchise, which used one primary design. Because of this, there was no real sense of continuity and the changes from one shot to the next took audiences out of the film, effectively limiting the terrifying visage of  the antagonist.

    But what mask are we talking about?
    As a Halloween fan site points out, there were four different to choose from!

    While the H20 mask was applauded for trying to look more like the original film’s, it was ultimately disliked by audiences, due in no small part to the fact that there were four masks used in production. These 4 masks are the KNB mask, Buechler mask, Stan Winston mask, and CGI mask.

    The Buechler mask is the mask used in the opening scene. It was made to look like the mask from Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.

    The Stan Winston mask is the main mask in the film and is the mask mostly seen throughout the film. This was used in reshoots to replace the KNB mask in some shots. However, even though this mask look closer to the original mask, it was criticized for being too tight (Michael’s eyes are often clearly visible), looking awkward, showing Michael’s eyes, and having messy hair.

    So after all these years.. and all of the dreadful sequels, it is clear. So many bad masks existed in H20..

    But nothing as bad as Halloween 5..

    Fans have often said it was the worst.. even comparing its look to that of Thomas the Train…

    There is something visceral about the warmth of September and the brutal chill of October. October‘s weather isn’t yet wintry in nature, but the hints and reminders are there but a darker time is coming.

    We go from those hot days and comfortable nights of September, with the bright sunshine allowing us to bask in that pretend the feeling that it’s still summer.

    But then winter starts to creep in, slowly at first. Leaves change, a few changes occur at the landscape level. Then your body begins to feel those differences, and your immune system struggles to adapt to its newfound life without sun..

    Suddenly the bright ball of light in the sky becomes a memory, deemed by the cloudy dull nature of the skies of late October. Sure, it’s fitting for the time frame were in, the season of the witch and all that hallows on the eve.

    But it still comes as a great and remarkable shock to the soul which worships that son God. And has since the conception of time.

    This year, October has two full moons. October 1 gave us the Harvest Moon, the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox..

    This normally occurs in September but edged into October this year. Also known as the Full Corn Moon or Barley Moon in some parts of America, farmers have traditionally made the most of its light to gather in crops well into the night before winter sets in.

    The second full moon–in 2020 of course–happens on Halloween. It’s the first Samhain full moon since 1944 when World War II was still ravaging the planet.

    The second full moon in any given month is known as the Blue Moon; there are seven every 19 years. The name is something of a placeholder, given in order to keep the year’s other full moons in their rightful place. This is because the moon completes 12 full cycles of its phase in 354 days, eleven short of the full solar calendar year of 365 days.This year’s is particularly unusual as it is the first full moon to occur across all time zones since 1944, although there is a full moon on Halloween somewhere in the world every 19 years – meaning that the next one to occur will be in 2039, followed by 2058 and 2077.

    Much to the chagrin, perhaps, of real Karens out there! Just in time for Halloween, the Karen mask debuts! Artist Jason Adcock is responsible for the viral design. Actually two version:

    There are plenty of other amazing works of art on his Instagram page that you should take a look at.. But Karen seems to be the most relevant, and realistic, at this time.
