The media permitted Harvey Weinstein’s crimes to continue, UNTOUCHABLE claims

Dateline 1997: Following a screening of her film Going All the Way, Rose McGowan, then 23, alleges that Weinstein invited her to a meeting at a restaurant that was then changed to his hotel suite.

He was her boss, since she’d already filmed a sizeable role in the sci-fi thriller Phantoms, which was to be distributed by the Weinstein-owned Miramax..
He was also one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.. his name inspired fear in the industry..

Once inside, she says that Weinstein eventually forced himself on her, raping her at the edge of his Jacuzzi…

A new film called Untouchable is documenting the role the media played in allowing monstrous behavior to go on..

    The DAILY BEAST writes

The New Yorker’s Ken Auletta opens up about his lengthy 2002 profile of Weinstein in the magazine, and how he’d failed to include any abuse allegations in the piece—even though he’d managed to track down Perkins in Guatemala, and heard the sex-abuse rumblings. A.J. Benza, the former Daily News gossip columnist who Weinstein is said to have used to help kill negative stories, features prominently, as does New York magazine’s Rebecca Traister, who recounts a bizarre incident where Weinstein repeatedly called her a “cunt” at a glitzy Manhattan soiree before putting her then-boyfriend Andrew Goldman, also a journalist, into a headlock and punching the top of his head in front of a gaggle of partygoers and paparazzi.

“I never saw one photo,” Traister says in the film, even though “hundreds” were snapped of Weinstein manhandling the reporter.

And The New York Times, the very paper that broke the story of Weinstein’s alleged serial abuse, published what amounts to a Miramax press release on the ugly episode, pinning the blame mostly on Traister and Goldman for being pushy interlopers.
“I’m glad I’m the sheriff of this shit-ass fucking town,” Goldman recounts Weinstein saying before he got physical.

  • Bill Murray asked about Weinstein.. and appears to not be fully aware of the situation?

Bill Murray asked about Weinstein.. and appears to not be fully aware of the situation?

He was being interviewed by the GUARDIAN.. Murray’s words about Harvey Weinstein appear to be a bit uninformed?

Murray was asked to respond to a comment the disgraced former mogul made in 2014: “Being a Murray-ite is a religion, where you can behave as badly as you want to people, and they still love you. I used to feel guilty about behaving badly, and then I met Bill, and it feels so much better.”

“Well, I think Harvey was saying something funny, and you can take something someone said a few years ago out of context, but I think that’s a funny thing he said,” Murray says, seemingly unbothered, before pivoting to the wider context.

“Are you asking for a comment about Harvey Weinstein? I mean, I don’t know exactly what he’s being accused of yet, but I know some of the people involved in that situation, one very sweet person, and it hurts to hear her speak about it,” he adds. “Really, it hurts…I feel the pain about it, and the pain is not over.”

To remind Bill Murray, Weinstein is being accused of sexual misconduct — and rape .. 80 women since last autumn have come forward.

Brian De Palma is planning a Harvey Weinstein horror movie.

Perhaps we have a potential cast member.

    WEINSTEIN HORROR REVEALED!

Brian De Palma is returning to the horror genre with a new script inspired by Harvey Weinstein.

He made“Carrie,” and now according to the French publication Le Parisien (via The Playlist) that he will be taking on Weinstein’s sexual harassment and abuse in a new film.

Weinstein will not be a named character in the film, but he will inspire the movie’s narrative.

“I’m writing a film about this scandal, a project I’m talking about with a French producer,” De Palma said. “My character won’t be named Harvey Weinstein but it will be a horror film, with a sexual aggressor, and it will take place in the film industry.”

    Weinstein’s day of reckoning

“A Grand Jury has voted to indict Harvey Weinstein on charges of Rape in the First and Third Degrees, and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree,” said Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. this afternoon. Read the two-page indictment here, but a warning there are some graphic descriptions of sex acts within it.

If found guilty, Oscar winner Weinstein could find himself behind bars for up to 25-years.

“The announcement of Mr. Weinstein’s Indictment, does not come as a surprise. Indeed, it was predicted by me this morning in an earlier statement we issued,” he also made a point of saying. “We also note of course that the Indictment merely mirrors the same charges in the criminal court Complaint and does not add anything to the case we did not already know.We asked the District Attorney for more time so that Mr Weinstein’s attorneys could gather the material needed to properly prepare him for his grand jury testimony but that request was denied.”
