While the world was waiting for the new Pope to be revealed, before the white smoke was even rising, birds were resting on the chimney at St. Peter’s Square..
Perhaps only odd because of the Pope’s name. St. Francis of Assisi had a love for animals…his is often painted with birds circling him. And then Cardinal Bergoglio chosen St. Francis as his name, after Francesco di Pietro di Bernardone….
Interesting stuff. I’m sure purely coincidental. right?
The same day I have the “Pope Named Francis” as my headline here on the HORROR REPORT, I just so happened to glance at the current hit counter at the bottom. I don’t know if it’s meaningful at all, but when I saw the number… I was a little uneasy.
Please tell me not to worry.
But since it did freak me a bit, I quickly refreshed the page in order for the count to jump a number….

The new pope then quickly made another kind of history, breaking with tradition in his first public act before the 150,000 people packed into St. Peter’s Square. Rather than bless the crowd first, he asked them to pray for him.
“Let us say this prayer, your prayer for me, in silence,” he told the cheering crowd shortly after being elected by cardinals in what was apparently the fifth round of voting on the second day of the conclave.
The willingness by Francis to dispense with tradition was interpreted by a Vatican spokesman as a sign he will be willing to chart his own path in other ways.
“We have a pope who probably upset some people tonight by not following the formula,” the Rev. Tom Rosica said.
Maybe he didn’t pick Peter the Roman as his name.. But Cardinal Bergoglio is the son of Italians and a Jesuit, something that experts on the prophecy of the popes believe are the two most important elements to show that Pope Francis is the final pontiff..
But there is a large sentiment beginning online that the entire prophecy is a hoax.. That the experts in it are grasping at straws.. That this pope is just another of many more to come.
Nothing to fear?
Perhaps..
But remember this: Francis chose his name after St Francis of Assisi. Assisi was also St Francesco di Pietro di Bernardone.. Pietro..

But Pope Francis mentioned that the cardinals went to the end of the world,’or earth,’ to find him.. So will we find ourselves with him at the end of it?? Will the prophecy just fall away into the trash heap of religious lure and gossip? Or is this plain Pope, who came out in simple white attire, fulfill what many fear he will…..being the head of a church during the end times for us all?
Expect lots of rumor and fear.. And religion and piety.
Francis I is a humble man with a faithful plan.. He won’t be soft spoken..but will anyone listen?
