This is a follow up to this morning’s post about the sinkhole that swallowed up a man in his bedroom in Florida.. This DAILY MAIL story paints the human side of this horror.. it details the desperate attempt to save the man at the wrong place and time, and describes that he was heard screaming as the earth swallowed him..
Horribly disturbing and truly sad.. Prayers can only be with the family and friends in this circumstance..
If it is not sinkholes its booms.. A loud boom (some report more than one) was heard in Arizona.. Law enforcement has no answers.. Media has no comments from officials saying they know where it was from or what it was..
Just more examples of these noises happening all throughout the United States..
Incidentally, Linda Howe was on Coast to Coast AM last night with someone who believes he has answers to the nationwide boom question: Weapons testing.
No comment from me on the veracity of that belief.. But I know the noises are all over–even close to Horror Report home base as I reported a few days ago, when a loud boom shook several neighborhoods on Northern Schuylkill County, PA..
A highway is sinking in Arizona.. And even more alarming, it appears the entire mountain at the sinkhole location is also falling in on itself..
This story is true.. So often I’m accused of embellishing or purely making things up..

(CNN) – A 36-year-old man disappeared Thursday night when a sinkhole opened up under his bedroom in Florida, swallowing him as his brother tried to rescue him, authorities said.
Right after the ground started to give way in his home in Brandon, his brother frantically tried to keep him from sinking into the hole, an emergency official said.
The first deputy on the scene pulled the victim’s brother from the edge of the growing chasm, said Jessica Damico, a spokeswoman for the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
Authorities have been unable to contact the man as the sinkhole expanded. The house was deemed unsafe for rescuers, Damico said.
Late Thursday night, the hole was about 100 feet wide and still growing, authorities said.
Area homes have been evacuated.
The AP has an alternate article on the sinkhole describing the victim as 34, not 36..
South Idaho had a 4.0 quake about two hours ago.. It was on the west edge of Yellowstone…
Some people have denied the chances of horse meat actively being eaten in the United States.
Maybe you thought that way too.. Or still do. Until you read this New York Times article about how horse meat does travel through the US.. The Times reports:
As concerns over horse meat infiltrating products labeled ground beef grows among American consumers, an advocacy group released shipping documents showing that horse meat does pass through at least one United States port on its way from slaughterhouses in Mexico to destinations in Europe.
