Stranger Things Season 5: Netflix Says No to a Three-Part Split (Thankfully)

Netflix has apparently had enough of the rumors—and so have we. For months now, speculation has swirled online that Stranger Things Season 5 would be split into three separate installments: one dropping in Fall 2025, the second near the end of the year, and a final “part three” arriving sometime in 2026.

Well, it looks like we can all breathe a sigh of relief. According to recent reports, those plans are either false or officially scrapped. Netflix has rejected the idea of dragging it out that long—and honestly, we’re glad they did.

Let’s be real. As much as we love the show, the memes about the Stranger Things kids looking old enough to start collecting Social Security are getting a little too close to reality. We’ve been waiting a long time for this final chapter, and yes, we know it’s probably going to be epic. Each episode will likely run at near feature-length, and the story will (hopefully) be worth the wait.

But dragging it out over years not months? That would have been a mistake. Viewer interest doesn’t last forever—Netflix knows this. So instead of three parts, we’re now expecting two installments, which feels more reasonable.

Now the only question left is: Will it actually come out this year? Or are we looking at another delay? Here’s hoping we’re heading back to Hawkins before 2026.
