Critics can’t stop Michael

·

Michael Jackson’s biopic movie maybe the worst reviewed Michael movie from critics since Michael Myers and Halloween ..but guess what, it doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Their voices have become meaningless!

Move over box office heavyweights… Michael Jackson is once again rocking the movie world… decades later.

Here’s what we know.
Michael is now sitting at $44 million globally for a $200 million production, and it’s just getting started. On Thursday alone, it added another $13.2 million, now playing across 82 markets on more than 50,000 screens worldwide.

And it’s not just a one-region story… this thing is everywhere.

It’s currently the number one movie in France. It’s performing strong in Mexico. Brazil is turning out in a big way. Ireland just delivered the biggest opening day ever for a musical biopic. Italy pulled in $1.3 million on Wednesday across 480 locations. Germany loves it. Spain loves it. Australia is showing up.

This isn’t a slow burn… it’s a global wave.
Now here’s where it gets interesting.
The film is getting hammered by critics. As of right now, the official score on Rotten Tomatoes sits at just 38%.

But the audience?

They’re not buying that at all.
Viewer scores are sitting north of 90%… and have been holding there for days. People who are actually seeing the movie are completely dismissing the critics, and that gap is becoming part of the story itself.

So what does that mean?
It means we’ve got another one of those moments… where the audience and the “paid reviewers” are living in two completely different worlds.

And honestly… those are always the most interesting box office runs to watch.
So cheers to Michael…
Let’s see just how big this weekend gets.
