JAMIE LEE CURTIS RETURNING TO HADDONFIELD! Will reprise role as Laurie Strode

This is some of the best news for ORIGINAL Halloween movies fans

    Ever ..

. Blumhouse just announced that legendary scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise her role as Laurie Strode when the new Halloween movie opens on October 19, 2018.

This is not a sequel of news films .. it ignores H20 and Ressurection, instead focusing on being a sequel to the second movie..

    From the press release:

Curtis “come to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”

The release continues: “Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film.”

    Exciting stuff..

The ‘prince of horror’ promises a new Halloween

Producer Jason Blum, the CEO of the budget-conscious and incredibly successful Blumhouse Productions (Get OutParanormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge) has promised that their planned Halloween sequel – the one written by Danny McBride and David Gordon Greenand directed by Green – will definitely be released by its planned date in October of 2018. And additionally, there’s word that Carpenter himself is still interested in providing the score.

All seemingly good news for Halloween fans for the man who once dubbed himself the Prince of Horror..

The newest incarnation of Halloween, is hoping that viewers ignore Halloweens 4-infinity in place of this one, as it takes place immediately after the Rosenthal Halloween 2.

    Getting confusing?
    Yes.

And that it why it seems Halloween films have become a mockery of themselves. Nothing serious anymore in the way of actual scares or storylines..

John Carpenter being included, along with a catchy piano song, may help… but I get the feeling that we have been down this long path before.  And it leads to nothing but sequels drowning in misadventure and contempt for premise and character development. I’ll give it a chance.

…got to be better than the Rob Zombie versions, no?

  • Why we still need ghosts

    Why we still need ghosts

Why we still need ghosts :

    Very interesting article from CNN

M(CNN)Do we still need ghosts? The short answer is: yes. In a digital age, where science and logic rules, where all the information we need is at our fingertips, you might think ghost stories would have gradually died out by now. But it turns out I’ve found just the opposite.

Ghost stories are still very much a part of the 21st century world, and new ghost legends seem to be appearing all the time. When I began researching ghosts and haunted places for my book, I expected mostly to find stories dating to the 19th century and earlier: Civil War soldiers, cowboys, maybe some Puritans. But in addition to these stories, I found many that are modern: houses and buildings that are newly haunted, their ghosts having emerged only in the past few years.

  • Not a reason for the season

Not a reason for the season

This is no way is meant to be an insult of BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN.

But its victory at the Halloween weekend box office clearly showcases a vacuum of scary at this week’s box office – a week that should be housing horror films and festivals of darkness. It’s Halloween weekend for God’s sake..

The film is in its second week.. it dropped more than 40% from the opening.. but it still ended up in first place with $16 mil..

INFERNO fell short of all expectations this weekend.. Tom Hanks flopped..  $15 mil for over 3,500 theaters!

But BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN? Number 1? And with an awfully low count in dollars.

Why did the big studios lump all the horror flicks into the spring and summer? This season could have used some scary movies. Instead people were stuck NETFLIXING old ones or finding the hits from yesterday in the DVD five buck bin at Walmart.

This should have been a big weekend for something.
    Sadly we were offered nothing.

  • FRIENDSHIP LOST IN A POLITICAL NIGHTMARE

FRIENDSHIP LOST IN A POLITICAL NIGHTMARE

LOVE IS BEING LOST: Poll: 7 Percent Of Voters Have Lost Friends Over 2016 Presidential Race »

37 percent said the harsh language is coming from Trump’s campaign, while 11 percent thought it was coming from Clinton’s.

The poll surveyed 802 registered voters between Sept. 22 and 25 with a 3.5 percentage point margin of error..

It is not a shock poll to me.. I have actually seen friendships changed this year with this election – people who were cordial and friendly have gone into a friendship hibernation. Hopefully after the November election (when presumably SOMEONE wins?) will this all will subside.. and friendships will blossom again. Unless the election itself becomes even more divisive by then. And maybe if a repeat of 2000 happens–My God just imagine that ..

I also get a strange feeling that this year’s Halloween season is going to be heavily influenced by politics.. That Trump and Clinton masks are going to be a-plenty. And what effect will that have on your doorstep? Would you refuse candy? Get angry?

So I am curious.. did you lose friends because of this election..? Did YOU break friendships off?

    The Boogeyman is Coming

    The grinning man.

    The Slender man.

    The hat man as well.

    The shadow man.

    The grinning man.

    Omul Negru.

    The black eyed children.

    The men in black.

And for heaven’s sake we can’t forget..

    The Rake.

Tis the spirit to pick your beast,

Tis the moment to have a feast.

It’s the time to hide your fear,

It’s the time to hold faith near.

The night’s darkness creeps in tight,

The light’s victory is in plight.

The season’s lust is for your soul,

All reason falters at death’s toll.

A faltering foe of the hat man fights,

But it’s too dark to light the night.

    A grinning figure stands alone,

Creating a chill in your heart and home.

The shadow creatures fill your room,

The black eyed children outside loom.

    Omul Negru and the rake,

Will take be more frightful than a snake.

They’ll fill your night with rage and hell,

They’ll creep in your bed despite your yells.

They’ll laugh in silence at your sight,

Your only hope is to close eyes tight.

And in the morning, if you wake,

    Forgetting threats of the Rake,

You’ll wonder if all that was real.

    And take up religious zeal.

You’ll question reality at every turn,

And find faith to in your heart burn.

Because when the nights get longer now,

You’ll see your fate when creatures prowl.

This is a good video.. 100 years of Halloween costumes that women have worn.

Yes, the 1980s were scary because of the style.

But in my opinion, the 1925 edition of Halloween may be the creepiest and more frightening of all.. it was intended to be fun. But as time beats on, the look has become sinister and mentally disturbing..

Such is the case at two venues in the United States, one in Ohio and one in New Jersey. Both have attracted worldwide media, a UK DAILY MAIL pictorial, and days worth of attention on the Drudge Report. The front yard of a house in…
