Halloween Killsreleased on Friday both in theaters and on Peacock, and absolutely dominated at the box office with a $55 million take. Most of it came from North America and its love for Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter, and the $50 million debut came above original expectations.
People seemed to ditch the at home experience in place for theaters..
On the anniversary of 9/11, it appears that Michael Myers will slaughter firefighters…
There appears to be no forgiveness..
The newest HALLOWEEN KILLS trailer begins with two children telling a woman (Kyle Richards’ Lindsey Wallace) about a man in a creepy white mask playing hide-and-seek with them. That man, of course, is Michael Myers. Later in the trailer, there are various nods to the much-maligned Halloween III: Season of the Witch, first with Michael showing off one of the masks from that film covered in blood as he attacks a family.
The family is later found dead in a playground wearing the skull and pumpkin masks.
Laurie Strode realizing she once again failed to kill Michael, who emerges from the burning home he was last seen in to murder several firefighters. She then recruits several familiar faces from the original film to help bring an end to The Shape once and for all…
Originally slated for a full theatrical release, Universal recently announced that Halloween Kills will premiere in both theaters and on Peacock day-and-date on October 15..
The movie Halloween kills, coming out this October, is promising to be the ultimate bloodbath of Michael Myers movies.. it is being heralded by horror sites and advertised by John Carpenter as a true slasher of epic gory proportions..
David Gordon Green similarly teases in the magazine’s new issue, “I get engaged by doing something different. If I was just going to be repetitive, I would hand the reins off to someone else. When you have that opportunity within an established franchise, it’s really fun to think about how you can show different tones and perspectives and evolve.”
As for Jamie Lee Curtis, who will be back as Laurie Strode in Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, she tells Total Film that the latter movie is likely the last time she’ll play the character.
“I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her,” Curtis notes. “And I’m not saying something like, ‘Oh, because I die!’ It’s nothing to do with that. I’m talking about emotionally what they have constructed.
“I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy.”
A post on Twitter from the Friday the 13th franchise brought back memories.. That dreaded Michael Myers mask from Halloween H20..
#JasonVoorhees has his issues with different hockey masks, but never one using CGI. What’s the story behind Mikey’s mask in this scene in H20 pic.twitter.com/CBEVZ3xzrv

It clearly was one of the weirdest and worst.. the eyes too big.. the chiseled jaw line.. the strange computerized appearance it took on.
The film was a mixture of hits and misses–mostly misses.. John Carpenter thankfully recused it with his re-do in 2018, and subsequent sequel that was delayed until October 2021..
On the 20th anniversary of the 20th Anniversary of the original Halloween, 2019, an article in Screen Rant had an explanation of sorts:
Though there have been some questionable changes made to the mask Michael Myers wears in the Halloween franchise over the years, H20‘s mask stands out a cut above the rest – and not in a good way. In H20, there were four different masks used in various scenes and stages of production. This is different from all the other films in the franchise, which used one primary design. Because of this, there was no real sense of continuity and the changes from one shot to the next took audiences out of the film, effectively limiting the terrifying visage of the antagonist.
While the H20 mask was applauded for trying to look more like the original film’s, it was ultimately disliked by audiences, due in no small part to the fact that there were four masks used in production. These 4 masks are the KNB mask, Buechler mask, Stan Winston mask, and CGI mask.
The Buechler mask is the mask used in the opening scene. It was made to look like the mask from Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.
The Stan Winston mask is the main mask in the film and is the mask mostly seen throughout the film. This was used in reshoots to replace the KNB mask in some shots. However, even though this mask look closer to the original mask, it was criticized for being too tight (Michael’s eyes are often clearly visible), looking awkward, showing Michael’s eyes, and having messy hair.
So after all these years.. and all of the dreadful sequels, it is clear. So many bad masks existed in H20..
But nothing as bad as Halloween 5..
Fans have often said it was the worst.. even comparing its look to that of Thomas the Train…
John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 film Halloweenreconfigured the horror film genre, inspiring multiple sequels and remakes, including a new installation in the franchise due out this month. In episode three of the eight-part podcast Halloween Unmasked, host Amy Nicholson takes a deeper look at the horror masterpiece and develops a psychological profile of Michael Myers. Here she’s joined by Dr. Anthony Tobia, who teaches college classes that examine the mental illnesses of killers from classic slasher flicks. Taking into account the mental state of the movie’s masked killer, Tobia suggests a diagnosis, and even calls into question the methods of Myers’ movie psychiatrist, Dr. Loomis (played by Donald Pleasence). By looking at the origins of the phrase “serial killer”—which wasn’t coined until afterHalloween was released—real-world serial killers, and less grounded explanations of Myers’ murderous impulses from the franchise and its novels,Halloween Unmasked is the perfect podcast to listen to leading up to Halloween, and even better for augmenting your marathon-watch of the original movie series in preparation for the release of the newest Halloween.
James Jude Courtney told Vanity Fair in a new interview that he met a former contract killer through a mutual friend back in the early 2010s. The man was allegedly freshly out of prison and wanted Courtney to help him write his life story, so they wound up living together for a while. At one point, Courtney took the guy to see the Cuba Gooding, Jr. movie The Hit List, and he was less than impressed.“We walked out of the screening, and he said to me, ‘Jimmy, it’s a really nice movie, but that’s not how you kill people,’” Courtney explained to Vanity Fair.According to Courtney, the guy promised to “show” him how actual hitmen work—but since the guy was seemingly retired and had already done his time, this probably didn’t mean literally bringing him around on hits. It probably (hopefully) just involved some advice and conversation. But in any case, it sounds like it really helped Courtney get into the mind of a murderer
“We’re kind of ignoring all the films past the first one,” McBride confirmed. “It picks up after the first one, but it’s sort of an alternate reality.“ “It’s as if the first Halloween ended in a slightly different way,” McBride added, suggesting the new film may rewrite even the events of the original. “I just hope that we don’t fuck it up and piss people off,” McBride also noted during the chat. “This is such a diehard fan base. You don’t want horror fans being your enemies because they show up at your house with masks on. We are diehard fans of Halloween. We’re watching all the sequels and where things have taken left turns here and there that maybe bites for fans, and at least trying to deliver what we would have wanted to see. Hopefully that will line up with most fans.” “I think you should be very scared. I mean, this isn’t a comedy at all. I think there was, like, maybe one joke on the page, but the rest is straight horror. So hopefully it gets in people’s heads and keeps them up late at night.”
The already overdone and failed concept of endless Halloween movies is going to get another run. And just in case there are any people still looking forward to it, read the exclusive MOVIE HOLE infornation they obtained:
Titled “Halloween Returns”, the new project will be a standalone film set to reintroduce audiences to Michael Myers years after his initial rampage.
“Halloween Returns” will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.
This just sounds all wrong. Plain wrong..
I have become weary of Michael Myers, but this death row concept for someone who has already been killed 8 times plus is plain ludicrous.
I actually wish someone would remake Halloween 3—as a horror fan, I have always been outnumbered in my appreciation of the Season Of Thr Witch..
Instead though Hollywood will return to the tried and true method of pointless slasher trasher with a storyline to match. ..
