    Changes in the galaxy: Many fans celebrate the departure of Kathleen Kennedy at Lucasfilm

    This news is coming from some LUCASFILM PR releases..

    Lucasfilm announced that after 14 years of leading the studio, President Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her role. Kennedy will return to full-time producing, including the studio’s upcoming feature films The Mandalorian and Grogu and Star Wars: Starfighter. 

    So gone.. but not totally..

    Dave Filoni, who worked closely with creator George Lucas to build the Lucasfilm animation department on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and helped launch Star Wars live-action series alongside Jon Favreau on The Mandalorian, will take on creative leadership of the company as President and Chief Creative Officer and Lynwen Brennan will serve as Co-President. 

    While she is not being trashed by Lucasfilm on the way out, fans are certainly pointing out her biggest flops..

    He arrives and obliterates the Calamari ship, and then the blockade runner gets out just in time and he pursues the blockade runner. And then [editor] Jabez [Olssen] was like, ‘I think we need to get Darth on that ship,’ and I thought, yeah, that’s a brilliant idea and would love to do it, but there’s no way they’re going to let us do it. It’s a big number and we had, what, like three or four months before release. Kathy [Kennedy] came in and Jabez thought, fuck it, and pitched her this idea, and she loved it. Suddenly within a week or two, we were at Pinewood shooting that scene.

    It’s a discussion that has gained more attention in light of Carrier Fisher’s death, who also appeared in CGI form in Rogue One. In Fisher’s case, she gave permission for the VFX team to recreate her younger self for a Princess Leia cameo while she was still alive. When news of her sudden and tragic death on December 27, 2016 (a fortnight after Rogue One was released) spread, it was naturally assumed by most that the same CGI skill would be used to complete her role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars 9. In fact, some outlets reported that representatives had spared no time in negotiating with her estate for the rights to do so.

    Actress Carrie Fisher suffered a medical emergency aboard a flight Friday afternoon and her condition remains unclear.

    Her brother, Todd Fisher, told the AP that she was “out of emergency” and stabilized at a Los Angeles hospital Friday afternoon. He said he could not discuss any other details about what happened.

    But both the LA Times and TMZ say Fisher is still in critical condition. A local ABC affiliate reports she is still “on a ventilator.”..

    DRAMATIC AUDIO HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM THE PLANE..

    Actress Anna Akana was on board the flight when Fisher went into medical distress and she described the upsetting scene in a series of tweets.

    She said Fisher stopped breathing and was helped by a doctor and nurse who happened to be on board.

    A United Airlines spokesperson said: “Medical personnel met United flight 935 from London to Los Angeles upon arrival today after the crew reported that a passenger was unresponsive.

    “Our thoughts are with our customer at this time and any requests for additional information should be directed to local authorities.”

    Akana, 27, wrote: “Don’t know how else to process this but Carrie Fisher stopped breathing on the flight home. Hope she’s gonna be OK.

    “So many thanks to the United flight crew who jumped into action, and the awesome doctor and nurse passengers who helped.”

    Akana wrote that Fisher wasn’t breathing “for 10 minutes or so” and CPR was administered until the plane landed.

    Women are going to see ROGUE ONE is higher numbers than FORCE AWAKENS–but men are enjoying ROGUE ONE more than women..

    More than 80% of filmgoers being surveyed say they are going to tell a friend to see ROGUE ONE — word of mouth and positive one and one reviews..

    EW REPORTS: Across eBay and Craigslist, ticket-holders for opening night screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Dec. 17 are trying to pawn their seats for exorbitant amounts. 
    There’s the $1,000 tickets for a 3D showing at 10:20 p.m. in Los Angeles, $750 tickets for a IMAX 7 p.m. show in Austin, a whopping $8,000 package for a Force Awakens event in Orlando (which includes just one ticket), and countless others. 

    Countless many will fall for the hijacking of hard earned wages.. Money to burn and a Jedi to watch..

    Various sources report that FANDANGO and others have crashed due to pre-sale tickets for STAR WARS striking a blow to the websites.. UK sites crashed, too..

    Ross Lincoln reports on DEADLINE that FANDANGO was the hardest hit of all the sellers. The site was continuously timing out as the ticket-hopefuls lined up on the virtual dashboard. Only to find nothing .. a dead page. A URL gone wrong in the modern era..

    LINCOLN WROTE,

    Fandango was most seriously affected as of this writing, with the site timing out before the home page loads when we attempted to access it. Service for ticket sellers has been spotty all over, and though many fans were eventually able to purchase tickets after several attempts, others are reporting they’ve gotten access only for these sites to crash again before finalization. Clearly, this film is likely to meet the already sky-high (or, if you prefer, orbital) predictions for box office earnings. That’s small comfort for those still unable to buy their tickets – Predictably, fans were not happy, taking to twitter en masse to lament their destiny.

    And one commenter, Roger C,  on the DEADLINE site opined briefly and effectively:

    People are so stupid.
