  • The King Henry Mandela Effect comes back to bite

The King Henry Mandela Effect comes back to bite

    It’s been a while.

This one has been bothersome for some time. The idea that King Henry was gorging on a turkey leg in history books, in a famous painting. We all remember it, right?

As a matter of fact, almost a decade ago, the HORROR REPORT detailed what we remembered about the famous portrait.. sitting at a table, placing that turkey leg near his mouth.. adorned with his stately attire..

This is how we remembered it.. And it never existed:

So tonight when we reviewed a news article on CNN it brought back the King Henry NON existent portrait right into our memory from the non-memory-hole.

Doesn’t this just look.. wrong .. without a turkey leg?

    From CNN:

According to Busiakiewicz, Ralph Sheldon commissioned the pictures – which were mostly of kings, queens and “significant contemporary international figures” – to hang in his home, Weston House in Warwickshire. The reason they had arched tops was because they “were once incorporated into an architectural frieze of the Long Gallery at Weston,” Busiakiewicz said.

In a press release sent to CNN, Busiakiewicz said the arched top was a “special feature of the Sheldon set,” while the painting’s frame was “identical to other surviving examples.”

The painting also showed the king holding a sword and wearing a feathered hat – just as he appeared in an engraving of the Long Hall made by antiquarian Henry Shaw in 1839.

The series of portraits was later dispersed at auction and “the majority remain untraced to this day,” according to Busiakiewicz.

After making his theory public, Busiakiewicz visited Warwick’s Shire Hall together with local historian Aaron Manning to see the painting close up. “The portrait is large, and completely in-line with the other Sheldon portraits,” Busiakiewicz wrote in a later blog post, on July 22.

In a telephone call with CNN, Busiakiewicz revealed that this was not the first discovery he had made thanks to social media. In 2018, he stumbled across a picture a friend had taken at a wedding and posted on Instagram. It featured a portrait that he identified as the work of 17th-century female artist Joan Carlile.

While this is NOT it, we just feel we will find this painting one day and prove it existed. Either in this timeline or another.

For inspiration that we are not alone in believing this existed, let us go back to 1979 when the Baltimore EVENING SUN showcased a King Henry eating a turkey leg.. for the record.

  • SHAZAM revisited: When memories of alternative realities fail

SHAZAM revisited: When memories of alternative realities fail

For some time now the HORROR REPORT and many other sources have reported that a lot–a LOT of people– recall seeing a movie called SHAZAM starring Sinbad the comedian.

The problem has long been this: The movie, in this reality, has never existed..
Recently a local radio station ran a poll asking listeners to call in to their station and write comments online as to what movie was the first they ever saw..
Two people wrote “SHAZAM.”  The others, in response, stated that the movie never existed..
Two people just got hit with the reality that so many others have already lived through: The Mandela Effect, my friends, still alive and unwell…
  • The King Henry VIII turkey leg mystery

The King Henry VIII turkey leg mystery

I am going to add my voice to the countless others already clamoring about King Henry VIII and his famous turkey leg painting that, apparently on this timeline, never was..

A little explanation is in order.

I have written countless times about ‘time sips’ and the Mandella Effect here, here, and here, just to name a few.

The full conundrum can be found on the Mandella Effect website–this website may also spark interest that you will keep reading the rest. Basically, countless people remember seeing this painting with King Henry holding up a giant leg of fowl.. And countless people become shaken when they are realized to be wrong about that very fact. There is no such painting. Nothing in pop culture that resembles the memory we all have.. and nothing which can answer the reason why that very memory includes the same exact details..

I have been searching, for about a year, for something to disprove my proof of the Mandella Effect: This very painting. This entire King Henry issue hit me much harder than anything involving the Berenstain Bears, or even Nelson Mandella himself. As a matter of fact, I always knew Mandella to be alive. At least when I started paying attention to national and foreign news in my early teens in the 1990s..

My son Ayden, age 4, told me that when he was “a kid,” the ‘green light’ was on ‘top of the red light’. That made me laugh.. then a few other events occurred and my personal world was rocked, and figured that my son, saying how the red light changed from his own 1 year old memory, had a time slip.

That is how I arrived to the whole Mandella effect to begin with, along with Starfire Tor on Art Bell and callers to his program saying that they believed Mandella died in prison.

Now back to the subject at hand, or in hand, the turkey leg.
I recall exactly what others recall.. a painting. An opulent setting. The grand feast in front of Henry, his eyes were heavy and looking somewhat sad. The turkeyish leg in his right hand, so on the left hand side of the painting. And I also vaguely recall somewhat of a window setting behind him, maybe.

The memories are so much the same as others.
And get this.. I recall it being discussed in my 4th or 5th grade social studies class, with all of the kids looking at the painting and chuckling. This would have been in the late 1980s…

Yesterday during a family breakfast at Friendlys, I used the crayons that my son was given to color to create this quit little picture of what I remembered, so I can show my wife in further detail:

    Untitled

The waitress showed a bit of interest, so I asked her if she recalls that painting with King Henry VIII eating a turkey leg. She chuckled, and said “of course I do, that looks just like it.”
    Indeed it does..

So it goes back to the idea that we all saw the same thing, or series of things, which formed a similar image in our minds.
but why so exact.. Could we all have been this tricked? This mind-warped? Could the same joke thought of Henry eating a giant feast coupled with famous paintings be this able to fool the brain?
Why so many pop culture references to a painting that does not exist..
Why does every single person I talk to say they saw this painting?
    And why is it gone?
    Disturbing to say the least.

Ending with this quote may be the best:

“I love Bill Clinton. I think we should make him king. I’m talking the red robe, the turkey leg – everything.”  Tim McGraw on Bill Clinton in 2014. I wonder if he had his Mandella Effect hit him yet?

  • THE GOLDEN GIRLS TIME SLIP

    THE GOLDEN GIRLS TIME SLIP

The HORROR REPORT has reported in depth over recent years about the potential for time slips, alternate dimensions somehow riding on top of each other, and Nelson Mandela dying more than once.. You can read the full list of stories here and the Mandela effect articles here.

Tonight it would seem that a whole new time warp has developed. For the third time in five years, news trended on Twitter that Rue McClanahan was dead. She was the famed actress best known for her role as BLANCHE in the GOLDEN GIRLS.

Despite the fact she died June 2010, her death news went wild June 2014. And now again June 2015..Today.

While a time warp or slip may be a fun explanation, it would more appear that famous people suddenly took an old CBS tweet about her death and retweeted it to thousands of people. Thus began the domino effect..

Tonight my wife yelled across the house to me that ‘Blanche is dead!’ I told I know.. I knew for years.
And then suddenly I saw the news articles, such as this CBS report, speaking about how this is the third time people lamented her passing..

So there are logical explanations for the viral conditions of the news.
But they are not as fun.
I’d rather the MANDELLA EFFECT to be replaced with the Blanche Slip.
I blame CERN. They opened the portal.

  • Another time slip on an icy Sunday morning sidewalk

Another time slip on an icy Sunday morning sidewalk

There are a few unbelievable things in life. First off, the very fact that life exists is unbelievable and remarkable. Why does it exist? How does it exist? And why does it end? All of these questions have defied logic for as long as humans were alive to think about them. There is more a chance of life not existing than existing. Or so we think. That theory could also be wrong.. instead it could be a universe littered with life.

The second thing that is unbelievable, and one I have written about a number of times, is the amazing way that time passes, the fast paced way that clocks churn and calender pages turn..

This year is no different. 2014 will mark what I feel to be one of the fastest years in memory. But that may also be he product of something else occurring in my own life: Aging. I am 34 now, an age and time I never thought I’d see. Not because I didn’t think I’d be alive, but instead because there is this certain sense in your 20s that your 20s are lasting for a long enough time that they will never end.

End they do. The 30s will end, too.. and the 40s..

My own father just turned 70 years of age today. That is monumental for a number of reasons.. First, anyone turning 70 means you’ve hit the milestone. You’re close to the government statistic but you’ve also be a lot of odds getting to that age. For my father, he beat a many more odds, which is the second reason his birthday is quite important. Last year at this time he was nearly dead and getting worse, being taken to the hospital for almost 8 straight days of intensive care.  This year he is happily watching black and white movies on his chair in the comfort of his home, something that you’d never think would have happened again if you saw him on his birthday last year when Sunday morning was coming down..

I have no good segway for what I am about to say, nothing which couples it perfectly with any statement previously made on the passage of time or the fruitlessness of the 20s.. So here it goes. Beginning December 2013, I believe that me and my entire family experienced a large scale time slip in which we were seeing things that did not exist in this time, but at times were propelled back into it.  I don’t doubt that it will sound insane in some way to hear that.. you may discount it altogether. That’s fine. But as I have said many times over, the paranormal is never real until you experience something paranormal..

My sister and I were discussing events of 2013 just last night. Either we have been wrong for an entire year, or another slip occurred. We all recalled December 8 as the time my dad’s issue began. So did my own father–he recalled it being the 8th as well. We were either wrong for an entire year or this is just another symptom of the global time slip that I think we have all been in since Nelson Mandela, the real time traveler among us, died in December 2013.

Time never makes mistakes, perhaps. However, do times slip? Do timelines intertwine? Can we enter one and leave another without realizing it even took place?

I will not labor over further talk of time slips.. you can search the HORROR REPORT archive on that topic should you wish to go back to any previous articles written about (in particular here is my 2013 article referencing my father’s fate and time slips)

But that’s life on the Sunday morning sidewalk.. time is relative to the time slip you’re in. Which one are you in today?

Me First and the Gimmies are heralding in this week’s Sunday morning sidewalk tune.. it’s quick and in your face compared to the other more mellow versions. I choose this because time itself is quick and in your face.. Especially when it slips.

    Welcome to your Sunday, all..

  • The Hawking particle

    The Hawking particle

I remember a very cool summer night in 2006 when I gathered around a fire with friends in the mountains of Pennsylvania.. We shared laughs, cold beer, and scary stories.. Mine was about an upcoming event; The beginning of the end. I told them that a big super collider was going to hunt for God. And that an alternate universe may open, or a black hole would be created to swallow us whole.

Years later, and a “God particle” being found too, we didn’t die in a big tremendous bang or even a whimper. Instead, life has gone on.. in some cases that’s been an awful thing for humanity.

But the super collider was just the beginning.. other colliders are coming. Bigger ones.. better ones.. Badder ones. Maybe that black whole we fear may open yet.

Or even this, as Stephen Hawking apparently thinks: The God particle could wipe out the universe! If only I knew that back in 2006 when beers were talking late in the night ..

This is what Hawking believes, according to others who are reporting on it:

The Higgs potential has the worrisome feature that it might become metastable at energies above 100bn gigaelectronvolts (GeV).

This could mean that the universe could undergo catastrophic vacuum decay, with a bubble of the true vacuum expanding at the speed of light. This could happen at any time and we wouldn’t see it coming.

A particle accelerator that reaches 100bn GeV would be larger than Earth, and is unlikely to be funded in the present economic climate.

Now imagine that.. the same Hawking that brought us some amazing theories of US and .. aliens.. and all of that, now says that it’s possible—though highly unlikely—that the act of ‘being’ may end..

Now here’s my take, a purely non scientific one at that. Ever since the Higgs Boson was found two years ago I felt things to be off kilter.. that something weird was happening. That time and space were somehow locked in a struggle. And that, in many cases, time slips were becoming more common. I had some actual weird experiences happen in my person life in the final month of 2013. Did the discovery of Higgs Boson do something? Did we all speed up, or .. slow down?

And really, think of this: As silly as my not to intelligent conjecture may seem, would anyone really know if something THAT big was happening anyway? Even Hawking said that if his total end of everything theory happens, it would hit us like a ton of bricks at night. We would never see it coming.

So many if something weird has already started, our bodies can’t see it coming because it would, in all other ways, seem to be ‘normal.’ But nothing is normal.

    Actually, everything is amazing.
And we are living through it.
    Maybe in multiple ways.
