The storm is expected to strengthen before hitting.. The AP reports this:
Packing winds of 173 kph (108 mph) and gusts of 209 kph (131 mph), it was likely to strengthen rapidly into one of the most violent typhoons this year, with its eye expected to pass just south of Taiwan, the weather bureau said.
It is expected to begin bringing heavy rain to the northern Philippines and southern Taiwan on Friday.
At this point we can only offer our prayers and hopeful thoughts for the people in this area… may God have mercy on their souls..
