But as the legend goes, it is not just bed bugs to be worried about in the Shirvin Hotel Hiton in Oklahoma City.
As USA TODAY goes on to report, several other more paranormal events have taken place over the years, giving rise to the notion that the Shirvin is haunted. Some players have expressed their reservations about the location as well. From the report,

In 2011, Chicago Bulls power forward Taj Gibson shared his personal account of the hauntings with ESPN after staying at the hotel. “At one point, at around 12:15 at night, my bathroom door just slammed completely shut,” Gibson said. “I don’t know what it was, but it just completely slammed. It took me a minute to kind of figure out what [it] was.”
According to the New York Times, Jordan Hamilton and Wesley Johnson aren’t too fond of the Skirvin, either.
In 2012, Hamilton send out a Tweet in reference to the Skirvin. “This hotel creeps me out every time we come here,” it read. In 2013, Johnson claimed that he woke up and found his bath tub full of water and his bathroom door closed.
Most recently, Los Angeles Lakers guard Louis Williams decided not to take any risks, and reportedly checked out of the hotel to stay at a different location.

    Hotels are scary places.
Not just for bedbugs. But the other more other worldly creatures who inhabit the night.

  • Police: Stop calling 9-1-1 about mysterious noise in Forest Grove neighborhood

Police: Stop calling 9-1-1 about mysterious noise in Forest Grove neighborhood:

There have been several guesses as to what is causing the mysterious noise in a Forest Grove neighborhood, but police say they don’t want to hear them through their emergency lines.

The noise doesn’t pose a threat to the community, Forest Grove Police said, and people should not clog up the 9-1-1 emergency line with their take on what is the source.

The reports started after people living in a west Forest Grove neighborhood reported hearing a high-pitched whistling noise.

Since then, they say their voicemail inboxes have been flooded with theories from callers across the globe. The fire department, engineering, public works and other city departments are also being inundated by calls.

  • Strange sounds in the living room

Strange sounds in the living room

Tonight there was a brief snippet on some news station my wife was watching about the strange noises in the sky (or ground) in Oregon as of late. If you haven’t heard or have been under a sheltered rock, Oregon is not the first place where these noises have happened. But somehow, this Oregon screeching noise has caught on more than others..

While the news was playing the noises tonight, it caught the attention of my 5-year-old Ayden. He initially held his ears, cupping his hands on them to avoid the screeching sound.. as the news story continued, Ayden wanted to know more. After it was over–and no answer found–Ayden asked to hear the sound again. And again.. and again. He was fascinated by it. So we YouTubed some videos and found some, at least a few that weren’t frightening and didn’t portray the sound as an end of the world noise.

I was fascinated at his fascination. But I also think anyone who hears the noises and experiences them–as I did recently–are curious to their core about the source and reason they are sounding across the planet. Who wouldn’t be.

Last night Clyde Lewis presented a good Ground Zero about these noises.

Tonight Linda Howe will be on Coast to Coast AM.

The world is starting to wake up to the sound of the static noise.. a noise that has an unclear source an apparently no explanation…as the trumpets sound.
