A post from last month about a song that never existed, “See you After Babe” by Symmetry Icon (also not existent) is still receiving a notable amount of visits on my site. You can read the original article I wrote here..

Over the past month, I have thought about this from time to time.. Tonight, it just so happened to be after watching the Gallows (I recommend it) my niece and I talked  a bit about the song.. she seemed haunted by it. I still did as well.

You see, even though I realize the song is fiction, something tells me I heard the song already .. I feel like I know the lyrics, or at least knew them in some weird way..

I have been perusing the comments thread on Reddit’s no sleep forum, though nothing new is notable in relation to the supposed pop song from the year Obama was first elected..

The 14 second Youtube clip is still haunting, too:

I noticed some comments online are playing along with the whole thing–which sort of makes it even creepier in a real way..

I NEED to hear the rest of this song. now. I haven’t heard this song since Halloween 2008 but when it came on at a party, everyone went nuts and we didn’t listen to anything else that night. I had forgotten about it until now, but it’s stuck in my head and I NEED it.

Tulpas. You know, those little nuisances that some people say can go from imaginery into existence. And perhaps you’ll have to suspend reality for a moment, but just imagine if enough people begin to believe this song existed that somehow we create a world where it actually did? Where the song’s lyrics were real..
Where .. maybe .. Symmetry Icon’s See you After Babe played in cars and on iPods in 2008 and will never be heard again?

Until that tulpa gains momentum, I’m sort of fine realizing the story is false. Just a fake.. just a fad, and just a strange tale of a tune that vanished.

I will tell myself that. I suggest you do, too.

Or you’ll be humming a melody to a song that never was real and going mad in the process because of it.

There is a strange conspiracy theory afoot.. just Google the term “Katy Perry is JonBenet Ramsey.”  I did. And found lots of information that, people online tell me, is compelling enough to believe that the conspiracy is true. The DAILY DOT has the story too, more so not propelling the argument because they believe it’s true but instead to capture the moment of pop culture.. Rick Paulas writes humorously,

“JonBenét Ramsey became Katy Perry. That’s a fact,” declares a faceless voice, over a screenshot of the Ramsey murder Wikipedia page. “JonBenét Ramsey did not die, nobody died, nobody got hurt,” he says. But she was sacrificed: “That sacrifice was in name only, and that sacrifice was to get something, and that something was to become a star.” The gist, extracted from seven minutes of creeping pans and easygoing voiceover, is this:

• Perry’s parents (Keith Hudson and Mary Perry) don’t look completely different from Ramsey’s parents (John and Patty Ramsey). Just like Ted Cruz doesn’t look completely different from Robert Kardashian, I guess?

• There’s a resemblance between photos of young JonBenét Ramsey and Katy Perry, highlighted by an eerie Photoshop cross-fade that provides enough nightmare fuel to keep your nocturnal demons well-fed.

• Ramsey was killed by strangulation, evidence of hidden Masonic forces at play. “See how they always put the non sequitur inside the story to catch those that have not done their work,” says the narrator.

This kind of casually unhinged rambling often seems like the background noise of the Internet, omnipresent but ignorable. That said, the video has more than 27,000 views; an updated video with nearly three minutes of added footage has more than 11,000 views. If that’s not enough to call this a thing, exactly, it’s at least sparked reactions—and not just denunciatory comments.

Amazing..creepy.. weird stuff.

Conspiracy rabbit holes are deep. This one may be the weirdest..

For those who lived through the true crime drama that was the Ramsey killing, this is most likely laughable. But a new generation of conspiracy hunters seemingly are eating it up.
