The Sandusky defense: Teaching how to use soap!?
Accusations about Jerry Sandusky continue to be revealed, but the defense may be even more shocking! It appears that lots and lots of boys were thoroughly cleaned when Sandusky came around… -

Vlad speaks: McCain ‘nuts’
Vladimir Putin, the man who may be the President (again) of Russia, called Senator John McCain ‘nuts.’
McCain tweeted that the “Arab Spring” is “coming to a neighborhood near you.” Vlad the Impaler responded to Mr. McCain’s Twitter message with his own insult:Mr McCain fought in Vietnam. I think that he has enough blood of peaceful citizens on his hands. It must be impossible for him to live without these disgusting scenes anymore.Mr McCain was captured and they kept him not just in prison, but in a pit for several years. Anyone [in his place] would go nuts.Low blow from the formerly old and now very young looking potentially botoxed Vlad.
Pootie Poot strikes.
And to think, George Bush looked into his soul…
Well, George didn’t like McCain, either. -

Amazing news may soon come from CERN
The search for the God particle coming to a close?Have they closed in on Higgs?Developing story coming from Switzerland.. it may be the gift of the year this Christmas for scientists who have long sought out the missing piece that governs how the building blocks of life even build..The recent flurry of activity that news is coming from the Large Hadron Collider has not quieted with time. The announcement from those at CERN say there are few places left for the God particle to hide..The Higgs boson is thought to be tied to a field that is responsible for giving all other particles their mass. The rest of the story is one of deep scientific terminology.. those who study in depth what the researchers are CERN are doing may even be hard pressed to explain the operation to the lay person.. but even the lay person would be able to understand the consequence of the God particle being found: It could start to answer some of the most important questions about the existence of this universe and how we became what we became. The scientific explanations would precede the philosophical and ethical arguments that would most surely stem from a massive scientific announcement of the building blocks of life being isolated. One message to the EarthInformer previously on CERN news went this way: “What if we find out that we are a part of some massive CERN and they created us to see if we can find out if we would ever realize we are a science experiment?”Indeed, what if?Science is all about what ifs. In the case of CERN, is may soon be ‘what next?’ -

Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the states, not a flake was falling, not even on the lakes
The scene around the United States of America couldn’t be more different than it is when compared to just one Christmas season ago. Last year, snow blanketed vast portions of the nation.. a storm before Christmas whitened the grounds in areas that didn’t have white Christmas in years.Fast forward, one year later, and 2011 is bone dry. Actually it’s quite wet. But that wetness if green and not white.A week before Christmas, and not only does most of the U.S. stand to have a wet Christmas with mud on the ground, but the temperatures are warm seemingly from coast to coast.Detroit baking in the 50s with norms in the 30s.. New York City and Philly are high above freezing.. grounds saturated by flooding rains in the fall are just muddy. Christmas lights high above trees in towns with no scenic snow falling around it.It could be a mood buster for some, but malls are happy. Not only are people shopping (a little) this year, but there is no need for giant bulldozers to clear parking lots.Heatmiser, indeed, is in charge. If not him, it’s La Nina, the cooling of the Pacific Ocean and shifting of jet streams. What was true for winter in 2010-11 will not be true for 11-12. Instead, warm pools of muddy grass will be dominant …A mood-busting mean one indeed that this Heatmiser can be. -

Gingrich locks in the cartoonist block
Iowa may end up not voting for Newt Gingrich–and America may grow to (re)disdain him after they hear him enough, but a voting block that supports him wholeheartedly: Political cartoonists. They point out that he’s a dream come true.. the easiest to draw since Nixon.. The big pudgy face, mean eyebrows, and large head of white bushy hair.. it’s a cartoonist’s paradise .. The actual face of Newt is already drawn for them.. in photos around Iowa and the nation, he looks like a giant bubble headed cartoon of a real person.. An inflated head. And inflated ego to match.I can imagine some cartoonists of the Democratic persuasion may even switch parties in order to vote for their money maker for a potential 4 years–or at least one campaign season. -

Defense bill wrap

Defense bill will NOT be vetoed
Didn’t this just seem predictable..?
Remember, the White House WANTED the additions that were made.
Life is a battlefield. So, now, is the homeland.
And yes, it passed the House last night.

Disturbing news, as this is the bill which would allow for indefinite detention. More details here. EDIT: Jay Carney’s statement on the changes that allowed the bill to go through. EDIT 2: More details on the bill’s changes.
