Worrisome Wednesday happenings from the planet earth

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 5 2014

Life is pretty much at a standstill at my home base and many others across the Midwest and Northeast… We had a major snow storm and it turned into a major ice storm as temperatures warmed up. While Armageddon has yet to occur, several forecasters were calling for it. Grocery stores were filled with rude and ignorant humans.. And an occasional bike purchase was made, for some strange reason. Being prepared is fine. But being prepared by buying every gallon of milk in nonsensical. People need to watch more PREPPERS

Now onto the news..

CVS has decided to stop selling cigarettes..They announced that their decision will cost them $2 bil .. But their lanes of purchases will still be filled with a vast amount of unhealthy products..

This is a developing story.. Four people were arrested in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday evening with more than 350 bags of heroin as part of the investigation into the death of the actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, the authorities said..

Bill Nye debates head of Creationist Museum..

CNN reports that a vast majority of Americans expect a terror attack at the Sochi games..

When Justin Bieber and his entourage flew from Canada to New Jersey ahead of Super Bowl weekend, the plane was reportedly filled with so much marijuana smoke that pilots had to wear oxygen masks to prevent a contact high

Clay Aiken announces he is running for Congress as Democrat in North Carolina..

Bigfoot hunter reveals more photos he says are the creature..

Penne Jilette reveals details of his crowd-funded horror movie DIRECTOR’S CUT..

It’s a porn eat porn world

Porn’s influence is real. Sex education is the answer by Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett »

This is a dry graphic article but also eye opening . While I’m not a proponent of banning anything I still think that it’s worth debating for the societal aspect of what porn is doing to men, women, and relationships.
And also, the UK GUARDIAN referring to ‘seagulling’ in the report is pretty darn British. I don’t think you’d see that in USA today.

Of bronies and men

Child attempts suicide after being bullied at school for being a fan of My Little Pony »

This is horrifying…
I applaud the “bronies” among us.. Seriously do.
I had a discussion with someone today who, for better or worse, uses her Christian background and judges all ‘bronies’ as gay .. She condemns them, in a sense, without knowing them.
I showed her this story about this child who was bullied for liking MY LITTLE PONY and informed her that the bronies were raising lots of money to help the family.. It did not change her perspective.
It reminded me that all judgement and condemnations come from parents, are handed down to children, and a new generation bullies based off of assumptions made of other people.
And happy 11-year-olds try to kill themselves because of it.
So sick.. so horrid.
Go bronies.
You’re shining bright with goodness in your response to this .. Good job.

Photos from Super Bowl riots look a lot like Ukraine. Obviously the situations are very different

TV Ratings: Super Bowl XLVIII Is Most-Watched in History With 111.5 Million Viewers »

And think about it.. the most boring Super Bowl of all time with the most mediocre ads and lamest half time show getting more ratings than any other event in UNITED STATES history. That’s a lot of history.. and a lot of events that mattered much more than a game between two teams that make millions of dollars a second more than you do in a lifetime.
See here in America, we tend to ignore the important things and focus on what does not matter at all..
The sleepless in Seattle ragers most likely watched the game to see their city’s team win.. And they rioted.
Meanwhile, in the Ukraine, people took to the streets to protest what actually mattered. The scenes of fire and flame may be similar, but the issue at hand is much different. Here we get inflamed over the trivial and meaningless.. in other parts of the world, some things are still worth fighting for.
Seattle Seahawks fans celebrate by starting a small fire in the street after their team won the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII in Seattle, Washington February 2, 2014. The Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 to win their first NFL championship Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
