We’ve only just begun: Fukushima groundwater now flowing into the ocean

If the latest worldwide fish kills have anything to do with increased radiation in the seas, get ready for a big cull coming.. The operator of Japan’s Fukushima plant–you know, that place worldwide media has systematically ignored since the March 2011 superquake–says that the destroyed plant has begun released radioactive ground water into the Pacific Ocean..

The goal: Rid the site of the immense amount of radioactive waste actually at the site.

Various accounts have painted a troubling picture since the nuke plant went haywire from the tsunami.. TEPCO has been facing the mounting problems of contaminated water. Their solution has is to get rid of it.. but since we live on a relatively tiny little blue planet of land and water, TEPCO’s choice was to just “release it” into the ocean..

They are defending their actions of course, by saying that the release is within legal limits and that it’s ‘safe’ in that sense..

But news accounts from Japan have painted a worsening picture of the situation near the Fukushima plant–and also one that makes the ‘safe’ claim by TEPCO be questioned..

One such report is a problem that will obviously be denied by the nuke industry in Japan: Reports that all workers–up  to 90% of them–fled the Fukushima plant after the initial meltdown in 2011.
There have been various other reports of safety problems, mutations, and general dangers of the Fukushima area over the past several months..

With the ground water release beginning, one important aspect to remember throughout the process is this: It’s just beginning.

Another fact: Fukushima released up to 181 quadrillion bq of cesium. Chernobyl was only 105.  And this: The release will be for years to come.

Couple that with the now tainted and to be tainted Pacific Radiation Rim, and you can see why that Fukushima worker pointing his finger at the world was so mysterious, alarming, and predictive. It’s our problem now.. The world’s problem.. it’s not just confined to one destroyed nuke plant.. and certainly not to one ocean.. It’s the world’s problem. And no one is doing much to deal with it.

The ‘lady in white’ in Illinois elevator

Elevators can be scary places.. not only could you be surrounded by people with shady backgrounds and mysterious origins, but you may also see the ‘lady in white.’

I have heard stories of the ‘lady in white’ in various places.. This may be the first time of one appearing in an elevator..

Rockfort police officers were baffled by an elevator in a parking garage going up and down without reason–a scanner call at one point actually said a person ‘wearing all white’ was inside an elevator. This occurred across the street from a Rockfort’s fame haunted location, the Coronado Theater..

Here is video from the WTVO report on the elevator fright night..

A collection of the Weird Wednesday news

From the world at large, the strange, the unexplained, the unusual.. for your reading displeasure..

University of Illinois freshman Hye Min Choi, 19, went missing from Chicago O'Hare International Airport on Saturday afternoon
This would probably not be a topic explored by David Paulides since it doesn’t match his characteristics, but it’s weird.. a 19-year-old college student has vanished from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.. the student is Hye Min Choi. He checked his luggage around 3pm Saturday. But he never boarded the plane.. Information shows a credit card swipe at a McDonalds around 7pm, with the flight scheduled for 740pm that night..His dorm room was empty. Officials are asking for help finding him.. The family is obviously desperate for any help that they can get.. The number to contact, if you have information: 312-744-8266

The life of a stormchaser: Dangerous, but amazing. Especially when you get images like this, a ‘mothership’ supercell over the state of Wyoming.   It looks like the end of the world, and certainly does not look real. But it is.. and frighteningly beautiful..

Something is happening in the waters of the world.. there have been stories of millions of dead fish over the past month from all across the planet Earth.. So much so that now fish die-offs appear to be so daily of an event that they are old news to those who read of them.. Some blame Fukushima.

    zombies, fear
I have written this before and will say it again: I have grown tired of the ‘zombie apocalypse’ stories.. truly tired. But here we go again: Now the Pentagon is making news for drawing up plans to fight zombies in an epic battle. But reading between the lines may be even more troubling.. we are not really gearing up for a fight with flesh eating zombies, but the ‘zombies’ symbolize human beings who are overrunning hospitals during an emergency, who people desperate not for flesh but for food. This is what they think of us.. we are zombies to battle.. That realistic fact is much more troubling than a fictitious brain eating zombie..

  • I hate WordPress Wednesday.. cheese with your whine?

I hate WordPress Wednesday.. cheese with your whine?

The HORROR REPORT has been writing a little too much about itself lately. The idea that we cannot choose a reliable blogging platform should not be the problem of the reader.. also with that said, the notion that downtime continues to occur is ludicrous and annoying to me. But it happened again for hours over the past two days..
There was a major update to the website coding on our fucntions.php sheet–and viola! An error took place that prevented me from even logging into the site’s FTP account.. Since my expertise in coding rests in the early 2000s and not the teens we’re in currently, I was befuddled.. A helpless rage took over my entire body for a bit of time.. Before I completely threw the towel in, I got some folks who were experts on the matter on the phone and they tried walking me through it.. didn’t work. My web hosting company actually had to step in to get me back to where I was without that one line of code to the functions page which completely eliminated my presence on the web.

The other troubling aspect of the downtime was this: While my site was critically injured by the code problem, and during the time I was unable to view/change/log on, something else was occurring: An endless trove of spam comments were somehow being posted to every page.. images and links to sex, others that promised extended and harder erections, and some that even said it had a cure-all for cancer. Obvious fake people with unoriginal comments.. However, it led me to wonder if something else had occurred that opened my site up for malicious coding or content..

This was my third and worst experience yet with WordPress.org.

One of my decisions to move to WordPress was inspired by the internets’ hatred of Blogger–the service I have been using for a decade now.. Even more, I read, WordPress was going to give me complete and total control over my site.. There are 1000s of add-ons, they say.. and  if I use them my site will operate with amazing power.
    None of that occurred..
I came to realize that Blogger isn’t that bad. And while Google may think they own my content, I say they don’t–especially since I back my content up weekly and keep saved filed for future use should the massive internet company ever decide to pick on my and get rid of my account.

I also came to find out that the people who make these Widgets and add-ons are often as good as me coding wise–experience that led me down the path of potential website deletion, and opening up my coding for hackers and other spammers to take advantage of my down time..

Yes indeed..Wordpress.org is complete control. They said..
They said the website templates were ‘professional’ and all-inclusive..
I say this: I have no time for the complete control.. I’m more like a 50/50 guy.. I have time to code and do my own thing, but not enough dedication or time to yearn to go through 1000s of widgets to make my site better..
And the website designs were hideous, ugly.. and one small change would create errors in the coding structure that you could not correct..
So I turn back to Google Blogger.

And I promise–at least with one finger crossed behind my back–that this will be the final time I bring my personal blogging issues to you, the reader.. I respect you more than that, and you’re not here to hear that–you’re in this for the weird, the bizarre, the paranormal, and the strange.

But I wanted to get my unabashed opinion on WordPress out there for the masses of asses that profess to me that WordPress is the only way to go..
There are other ways to have complete control over your website and still utilize the demon’s blogging service…

    Backup backup backup.

Too strange to believe: Did kitty litter cause a radiation leak!? A sign that ‘green kitty litter’ may not be the best idea..
Drink it while you got it: Coffee production may drop 40% as fungus spreads.. And speaking of the fungus among us, another fungus is decimating the banana industry around the world.. If you ask me, no better time than the present to really amp up ‘vertical farming’..
SO much for that old question: “TOO SOON?” Missing flight 370 may never be found, but money will be: Cannes movie makers are gearing up (and gaining controversy and attention) with plans for a movie called “THE VANISHING ACT”, a thriller based off of the missing Malaysian plane..
An Arizona town is literally running out of water .. and all the while we continue to dry up rivers just to water grass in the capital of in and sex, Las Vegas..
The industry can HEAR THEM.. AT&T buys DirecTV for $48 billion. Now I don’t feel that bad about paying my phone bill late last month..

  • The HORROR REPORT identity crisis

    The HORROR REPORT identity crisis

You may have already noticed: The HORROR REPORT has been going through a series of weird changes over the past two weeks..
Here is the lowdown on the ever evolving face of this website..
The site has been hosted on Google’s BLOGSPOT for years (even though we had a server and space with Godaddy, we did it that way) .. A time came for a change, namely because I didn’t feel comfortable not owning the information I was posting. WordPress was the obvious choice..
But slam bam no thank you ma’am, the theme I chose originally for this site look mighty sleek and sexy, but crashed with a mighty thud and I pretty much lost all of my customization and potentially even some posts.
A distraught Horror Reporter turned to Tumblr, as I host a personal blog there and thought maybe the HORROR REPORT could be a good fit.
    It was not..
A turn back to Google’s Blogspot was made this past weekend while I ironed out a few things..
For the past few days I have been working on a return to WordPress and hopefully (crossing my bony fingers) a theme that will be a good fit for this website and also one that will be stable and error free..
    Hopefully.
I am pretty happy to say, at least judging from my stats I can see, I did not lose any hits over the past few days. Though I imagine some folks may have been awfully confused at what they were seeing over the weekend. At one point the website looked like a return to 1998 HTML ..
I have been used to coding most of my website for the past 15 years.. Not sure what to make of this new WordPress theme yet.. I am using “raindrops” .. but at least we are closer in nature to what we want to see, and more stable.
So .. stick around. The scares go on.. Now that this pesky web change *(hopefully agaim)* is over..

  • MORE MISSING PERSONS TONIGHT ON COAST TO COAST AM

MORE MISSING PERSONS TONIGHT ON COAST TO COAST AM

George Knapp, seemingly the last bastion of hope on the show Coast to Coast AM, will be featuring the topic (again) of missing persons..

Some may think that the topic has been overdone.. David Paulides is soaking every bit of fame and fortune he can get with the notion that ‘something’ has been taking people in national forests for decades–if not centuries..

Tonight’s program promises some newer stories, locations, and undoubtedly creepy occurrences of people who simply vanish without a trace.

But despite Knapp’s questioning, Paulides has yet to introduce his theory as to what happened to all of these people he has written about (and what may still be happening if whatever paranormal entity is still up to no good under the shade of large trees) ..

I still think we are heading for the eventual Paulides unveiling that Bigfoot may be the responsible culprit.

Until then at least we get good radio compared to the typical sub-par buffoonery that has become this program..

Eventually.. BIGFOOT will be revealed–at least that’s my prediction.
    What say you, Mr. Paulides?

    ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL

Teacher caught on video grabbing kindergartner by face, could face charges »

If you’re a parent, teacher, or person with a soul, this video should horrify you. This is exactly how to ruin a child, and how to make a further mockery of the school system—one that really doesn’t need much more help ..
Every time I see a bus driving a load of children off to the nearest indoctrination camp, I always hum ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL by Pink Floyd in my head.. And this video of this rotten woman who claims to be a teacher should be the bus driver, taking the kids off to be churned into sausage while they beg for their pudding.
Even if a child is doing something that needs attention or discipline, common sense would dictate that it’s not something you grab a child by the neck as his head slams against the wall.. That’s not discipline, it’s torture..
Little 6-year-old Ian did not deserve to be chocked for going to the bathroom.. Time and time again, adults seem hellbent on stealing the innocence from our children..
Luckily a surveillance camera caught it all on tape.
Imagine the countless hallways where this happens and no surveillance camera exists…?
Video shows the teacher picking up Ian by his shirt and face.
  • The tacky world of 9/11 gifts

The tacky world of 9/11 gifts

Inside the 9/11 museum’s offensive gift shop »

The New York Post goes in depth.. Apparently a lot of really tacky but expensive items are for sale in the shop.. Hoodies with the twin towers and $39 heart shaped rocks with overused slogans on..

One woman who lost a son was quoted in the Post article.. She said, “To me, it’s the crassest, most insensitive thing to have a commercial enterprise at the place where my son died”…

WE have all seen these gifts, whether it’s in your local thrift shop or on the corner being sold by a street vendor. Some has been …ok.. others? Nah.

Be proud, US of A. Tacky is America. Come on, we still sing “Proud to be an American” more often than the national anthem.. no matter what Lee Greenwood did, he made a bundle off of the weird emotions of Gulf War I ..

We sell tacky things here.. You’d have to think those Chinese slave laborers who put together such profoundly graceless items are wondering what the hell the people in the free world are buying them for..

But the question really remains: Should profits be off the list of what the 9/11 memorial is tasked with? After all, they have quite a hefty debt to pay back.

In fairness, it’s a debt so high that overpriced ground zero hoodies will never pay back..

    But tacky?
Yes. Corporations know a thing or two about that.

  • Strange oddities on the Sunday morning Sidewalk

Strange oddities on the Sunday morning Sidewalk

Something very ‘out there’ happened last night—I cannot explain it nor will I subject any readers to the stupidity of assuming what it was..

I simply can convey what occurred. . I took Mutley the dog out for a midnight bathroom session.. It was profoundly quiet, with the exception of one bird in the woods singing, something I didn’t expect since you really don’t hear the sounds of birds at night. There was a very deep chill in the air, the temperature was already below 50, cold for this time in May.

Mutley and I heard something .. it sounded like the rolling of chains together, or perhaps even something heavy being drug across the forest floor. Mutley’s hair spiked up high as he started to form his body into an attack mode.. I ran into the house quickly to turn on the outside lights and grab a flashlight, about 5 seconds in time.. Upon the return to the outside air, the noise of chains clanging had gotten louder as though it was coming directly to and my dog. Here is the odd part: I heard nothing walking in the woods.. no noise of footsteps on dry leaves.. nothing. Perhaps adding to the bizarre flavor of the event, in the distance, what seemed like a pack of wild dogs, began barking. My dog at this point couldn’t contain himself.. He went crazy, and the midnight air was filled with the noise of Mutley the dog trying to scare away whatever it was..

I controlled Mutlery a bit. As I did, the noise slowly got more muffled as though it was leaving .. But again, as it quieted down in volume, no other sounds accompanied it. Not even the sounds of something or someomne walking ..

And then, it was gone. The only sound heard after the event was that lone songbird chipring in the cold midnight air. I still found that so be the creepiest ..

I tried explaining this to my wife.. As I am doing here, I did with her: I offered no explanation. I told her that I know I heard something but yet lacked any knowledge on what it was I heard..

    Did my ears deceive me?
Does a bird, the singing bird, make a noise that may be similar to the clanging chains?

It was less like I was hearing a real event taking place before me, and more like I was witnessing a recorded event. The only logical way for me to explain this was that it seemed like the noise was not of nature or animal, and the lack of walking compels me to ask if something was being ‘played’ .. maybe an endless loop of something. I am attempting to stay away from the paranormal, because despite my love of it and all things weird, very few ‘weird’ things of note have happened to me. And I would like to sort of keep it that way..

And on a final note, to make matters weirder, I have been hearing those famed booms lately—I am not ready to call Linda Howe yet but I sure have her email at Earthfiles if necessary. Last night, while hearing some of the ground rumbling noises, a small meteor looped in the sky above me. I think it was a meteor..

It wasn’t a typical Saturday… things did go bump in the night. If I had to make a guess, the only thing I kept thinking as I closed my eyes and went to sleep was that the ghost of Marley doesn’t know it’s not Christmas yet.. Am I Scrooged?
